We really liked staying here for two nights. It had everything we needed and more! We appreciated the bottled water and hulu. The place is super clean and communication couldn’t be better! Thank you for a wonderful stay! 😄

The Contessa is small but cute. Would have been tight if I was not alone. The parking is convenient but getting in and out of the small lot is tight with a cement pilar at the turn which had battle scars from cars hitting it [could really ruin a stay if that happens].
There were instructions left for me and when the tv access required a login, the hosts were reaponsive and sent me the info right away. The heat of electic fire place does not work, and the room was cold, but fortunately there was another space heater in the closet I was able to use (along with a semi-broken fan).
One of the carpets was absolutely FILTHY, with boot & scuff marks all over it [which is referenced in reviews from a while ago and still unresolved, which shoes neglect on the owners' part]. There was a Keurig machine in the room, but it looked dusty snd was on a dirty tray, so I wasnt comfortable getting hot water for the tea bag I'd brought with me. The bed felt like a full-size rather than a queen and the pillows were the flattest and least comfortable I've ever had when paying to stay anywhere. It had rained a little and there is water damage above 1 of the windows, whcih was noticeable when the wall swelled. There are old water stains on the pull-down blinds on that same window, so another sign of neglect by the owners.
I appreciated the restaurant recommendations they left and really enjoyed breakfast at 1 of the cafés. I was only there for 2 nights stay and arrived in my room after 8pm daily.

My wife and I spent the weekend here to visit lancaster. The room was nice and it was nice to be in our own small room with private access.

It started with not receiving instructions to enter our room. So we sat in the car waiting for a return call. When that didn’t happen we eventually were able to get in contact with someone through the large group who had the main house rented for the weekend. The carpeting was so filthy my socks are dirty on the bottoms. In the bathroom there was 1 small half used piece of soap in the dish. Either that’s all they provide or the last guest left it. So I’m really not sure what I paid a cleaning charge for? The only curtains in the room are white shears. So the only place you can feel comfortable changing or being in your night clothes is the bathroom. Those curtains may I add are only on the bottom half of the window. There is nothing on the tops of the windows. There are lights all through the parking lot and porch lights on the carriage house and also on the porch directly outside the Contessa room. The occupants of the main house came in and out getting drinks off of the porch banging the door and turning on the light that would then shine directly through the window with no curtains on it and onto our bed. Needless to say there was little to no sleep going on in our all weekend. When renting the whole house out to a single party of 12, maybe they should not rent the Contessa room to anyone. The walls are thin and we could hear dishes banging and them talking about the turkey burgers they were grilling just outside our window with shear curtains at 10 pm.

Nice from the outside. Maybe the rest of the inn was different. Would not go back again even for free.

Attractive, clean and comfortable place for a couple

Good accommodation for a short stay in historic Lancaster PA. Close to Sight and Sound theater. Private, great parking, smaller but tastefully decorated with a good coffee bar. Would suggest paper towels for coffee bar and larger TV screen. Otherwise, good.

We did Lancaster
Granted, our children are grown so we are looking for intimate adventurous fun. Everyone we met half our age said we did Lancaster and we agree!.
