Townsend is a little gem hidden in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and is known as "the peaceful side of the Smokies". This little cabin is located in a gated retreat owned by us! Our retreat consists of 4 vacation rentals plus our primary home on 7 riverfront acres. Townsend has two famous swinging bridges that cross The Little River, one of which connects directly to our property, which means you can walk right across into the heart of town! We really liked staying on the peaceful side of the mountains and we liked having a cabin by the river. Would love to come back to this cabin when the weather is warmer to sit on the porch or closer to the river and watch the tubers go down the river. Perfect for a couple!

We loved this quaint little cabin and found it to be peaceful and relaxing. Loved rocking on the porch and watching the river flow peacefully by each day of our stay. Watching the wildlife became a favorite part of our experience at the cabin; especially the two squirrels that played in the trees right beside the porch. We nicknamed them Chip and Dale. We would definitely stay here again!!!

Gorgeous property right on the little pigeon river that's away from the heavy traffic of gatlinburg and an extremely short drive from cades cove. 100% recommend this cabin and will definitely be back!

Beautiful cabin—everything we needed to be “at home”. Right on the river—enjoyed watching a beaver swim, river otters played beside us while we fished, so many rainbow trout and bass in the clearest water, a bald Eagle hung out all morning, and small turtles swam around us.
The cabin is definitely private and surrounded by nature. The goats and peacocks were an enjoyable sight during a walk to the swinging bridge without being too close to the privacy and quiet.
There is another cabin owned by the renters that is surrounded by trees so again privacy is maintained.
We are already talking about making this stay a tradition!!

Indoors was great except slow draining bathroom sink. TV was way too high tech for us and we would have loved it if the little electric fireplace had worked. The decking on part of the porch needed repair. Loved the location and foot bridge!
4.8
Perfect location near Cades Cove and awesome hikes, beautiful little cabin on the river. Very accurate to photos. Had everything we needed. Walk across the swinging bridge to the Abby for great dinner! Thanks for a wonderful vacation.

This cabin was as advertised. Very clean and very cozy. We enjoyed our getaway immensely! Pro tip for the next travelers: Make the short walk down the gravel driveway and across the footbridge to enjoy dinner by the river at the Abbey.
We would definitely book here again!

Nice cabin. Not secluded but was well appointed, clean and easy communication with Owners. Fairly long trip trip to Gatlinburg and/or pigeon forge from the property.

After spending the days doing outings in near by towns it was so nice to come back to the cabin where it was always peaceful and so pretty. Looking forward to coming back in the summer.

I absolutely loved this cabin and the location. Easy to get to especially with the directions I was provided with by the owner. This cabin is not on a steep hill which was a huge plus for us. It’s right on a lake and the cabin itself was very clean and cozy, will definitely recommend and stay here again!

Cabin is as the pictures show. Located on a dead end road. Very private. There is another cabin beside it and you share a driveway but not an issue. Plenty of room. Well supplied with kitchen utensils. Listening to the river is relaxing and easy to access. The cabin was decorated for Christmas with a tree inside and out. Nice touch. We enjoyed our visit and plan on returning maybe in the summer.

We found it very clean and well stocked for Linens, Dishes, and Bathroom supplies.
The gas fire place added such a nice ambience to the fall weather that moved in as well.
