Myself, my parents, in laws, husband and two daughters all adored this property and our week in Blue Hill. The house is gorgeous with plenty of room for everyone - large spaces to be together and nooks and crannies for a private moment. The setting is spectacular - we launched kayaks right from the lawn and paddled to the Blue Hill rock to jump into the bay. The hosts truly thought of everything including beach chairs and towels, basics like laundry detergent, spices and olive oils and more. Communication was easy and prompt. The town is lovely and the local business owners were so friendly. In particular we loved Juniper for vintage finds, and Blue Chill for artisanal ice pops. Highly recommended!

The house and grounds are beautiful! Everything exceeded out expectations. We explored Blue Hill and Acadia, kayaked right from the property, and had a beautiful place to return to after our adventures! Thank you, Laura!

We can't say enough positive things about our stay at Harbor House. If we could add more stars, we would. Our communication with the host was outstanding, the house was perfectly situated in the center of Blue Hill, the views were picture perfect, and the house was out of a magazine. We are cooks and made meals almost every night from locally sourced and purchased food. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything our gourmet chefs could need. We had room to spread out but also comfortable gathering spaces inside and out. The bedrooms were large and comfortable. We rented kayaks and had several trips around the harbor. You can't ask for more.

We had 3 generations stay at the Harbor House . We rented kayaks & looked forward to each high tide to launch . The gardens were brilliantly lush & brimming with life . The home was tastefully appointed & intentionally thoughtful . So many places to walk to including restaurants , art galleries , book & toy store . The Blue Hill co op was a great spot for groceries & the local library’s children’s section had great stem activities . It was a leisurely ride to Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park .
This charmer will not disappoint .

This is a lovely historic property, nicely restored for comfort. Location in Blue Hill is good for enjoying the outdoor activities of Acadia National Park area with the Visitors Center being about 45 minutes away. Although Blue Hill is small town, there are several very good restaurant options (at least two within walking distance) and at least two good grocery store options. The house itself backs up to a tidal estuary that was fascinating to watch as the tide came in and receded. Lobster fisherman loaded their boats at the pier within our view one morning.
The house itself was just as pictured. Kitchen was extremely well appointed. Each of the bedrooms has a small bathroom, which was much appreciated by family members. Both the family room and the dining room were large, lots of windows with a view, both readily accommodated our group. The layout of the house was interesting, lots of nooks and crannies and squeaky floors -- just as one would expect from a historic home that had been added onto and renovated over the years. We very much enjoyed our stay and wished it could have been longer!

We were four couples, six of us friends of almost sixty years, who came together to celebrate our connection to each other, and marvel at the beauty of the land and sea in this magical and wondrous place called The Blue Hill Peninsula of Maine. All of us have traveled the world and have experienced many types of accommodations over the years. Each of us, and all of us, were completely taken by the beauty of the setting before we set foot in the house, and once inside the door, felt we could not have made a better choice in booking a property for our stay. Each couple had total privacy in spacious and charmingly decorated suites with private bathrooms, and many choices for finding a quiet spot in the common rooms, inside and out. The kitchen was outfitted with anything a gourmet cook could desire (we had several amongst our group), and servingware befitting this glorious house. Several in our group are already making plans to return to this absolutely perfect property with their children and grandchildren. I would actually give this property ten stars, and honestly believe each of us in our large group would do the same. Bravo! And thank you, Laura, for being totally accommodating and available to answer our every question, and provide us with wonderful information about this special place in Downeast Maine.

Beautiful home in Blue Hill… very
Comfortable and well appointed! Blue hill
Is a cute little town with easy access to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. We enjoyed the park and enjoyed many hikes and swimming spots around Blue Hill . Plenty of restaurants within walking distance as well as a nice grocery and my favorite the co-op. Don’t hesitate to stay at this wonderful property!

This house is perfection! A beautifully appointed, well-maintained, bright, cheerful and spacious home so everyone can spread out for work or play. It has a well-stocked kitchen that is an ambitious cook’s dream. And the views? We spent as much time as we could on the patio with breath-taking views of the bay, surrounded by a meticulously maintained garden. However views from dining room, family room and master bedroom were also great. The town of Blue Hill is adorable. Local hikes, galleries, shops, kayak rentals, and proximity to Acadia National Park means there is plenty to do. Enjoy it all!

We spent an amazing week in this beautiful home! The view was gorgeous and we truly enjoyed sitting outside watching the water and the cute duck family with their ducklings! There is so much to do— hiking Blue Hill Mountain, going into Bar Harbor, Acadia, and Deer Isle, exploring Blue Hill, and finding great restaurants! Laura is a fantastic host and she answered all our questions about the area before we arrived.
Harbor House is lovely! We appreciated that each bedroom was unique and had their own bathrooms. The living space had everything we needed, including games and puzzles, and plenty of space to be together and spread out. It was hard to leave. We look forward to returning. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!

What a wonderful home you shared with us. We enjoyed views and ocean breezes from all angles and corners. We had quiet nooks for contemplation and areas for rousing conversations and games!
The kitchen is a delight, we had great times cooking and kibitzing. It is well stocked for with pots and pans and with plates, flatware, glasses and serving supplies. Except for the want of a microplane, the cooks among us were thrilled.
The Harbor House is perfectly located for day-trip adventures. Bar Harbor windjammer cruise was a fave, as was lunch at the Bagaduce Lunch. Groceries and other needs quickly and easily handled by the locals.
Blue Hill was lovely. Arbor Vine a real delight, sad to hear it is last summer for them. The music at Kneisal was wonderful. We could not be more pleased.
Thank you for allowing us in.

The 1824 house is a spacious, lovely, historic, modernized home with Blue Hill restaurants and stores in front and a beautiful waterfront in back. Our family enjoyed the privacy of individual bedroom suites and the gathering spaces inside and out.

After a long flight and drive (in the POURING rain), we arrived at the home in time to make plans for dinner.
We found the home to have a lot of space and character, and enjoyed our time there (when it wasn't raining) - especially driving/hiking in and around Acadia, and getting our share of seafood.
+ There were a LOT of carpenter ants in the 4 forward bedrooms and many common areas.
+ There were large cobwebs (at least 6) in the giant room ceiling.
+ Some of the kitchen ware seemed as though it had not been well-cleaned.
+ Within 5 minutes of walking in the door and the half-bath needing to be used, it overflowed all over the floor.
+ The shower in the crow's nest room is not very big, and the door hinge is not properly attached/tightened, so unless is being held closed, leaks water all over the floor.
+ There are no AC vents, so when it's on, it can't be closed off or re-directed in rooms as needed.

Harbor house is a beautiful home in the heart of the downtown area. Plenty of restaurants and food stores close by. It was a great central location to visit the entire state. I highly recommend a stay at this deluxe property.

This was a great stay for 4-5 couples with 5 large beds. The whole house and neighborhood is super cute. Plenty of space to spread out with a large kitchen, TV room, and a Family Room with a round table for board games. There is also a large dinning table for Family meals.
It's right on the water, so we rented Kayaks that we took out at high tide. Grocery store (Trade Winds) is pretty close and there is a general store that has a lot of stuff thats walking distance if you're in a pinch.
There are tons of hike and beautiful scenery close by. This house was a real gem

My family and I were very comfortable at Harbor House, a spacious, well maintained and beautifully decorated antique home in downtown Blue Hill. The kitchen accommodations of double sinks, dishwashers and trash compartments made it possible to have many hands pitching in in the kitchen and the bedroom layout allowed for good privacy. The gardens and outdoor spaces were lovely and the views of the harbor served as the backdrop for many of our meals including steamed lobsters and corn on the cob. cConvenient to many other beautiful towns such as Brooksville, Castine, Little Deer Isle, Stonington, Ellsworth and not too far from Northeast Harbor and Acadia, all of which we visited!

It was a complete stroke of LUCK that there was a cancellation! We loved looking out at the water and the great location - within walking distance to the best coffee, to
FISHNET and waterfront park.

Had a great vacation with my parents, husband, and son at this house. Space is well laid out and kitchen superbly equipped for serious cooks. Each bedroom had its own bathroom and the space was clean and well-maintained.
House is on a busy street, but close to some of the nicer eateries in Blue Hill (allowing you to walk) and street noise is not evident from the house - which has views of the water.
Would definitely recommend this spot!

Beautiful and comfortable home, lovingly restored and updated, keeping the best in her 1800’s architectural details. Grounds and gardens were beautiful. Blue Hill is a great village to explore, and a scenic 45 min drive to Acadia!

Lovely home with AC!
We really enjoyed staying in this historic home. Maine was experiencing a heat wave and we were so happy the house had air conditioning. The location was great as we walked to Bucklyn's coffee nearly every day. We drove to Acadia for some hiking and activities and were glad we didn't stay in Bar Harbor as it was so busy. We definitely recommend renting the kayaks and exploring. So many great family memories in Blue Hill!

Couldn't be better
Harbor House is a perfect base for a stay along the Maine coast. The house itself is like a dream, and it comes along with easy access to the charming towns along the coast and to Acadia National Park. It's close enough to get there and back in the same day but far enough to be away from the bustle. We stayed in a couple of times just so we could spend time in the house; this is the first trip I've taken where I could say that. Another thing: the kitchen is unusually well stocked. Communication with Laura was great and she addressed any issues we had pretty quickly.

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the house so much! It was spacious, clean, and well-appointed. It was the perfect location for our family vacation in Maine.

Gorgeous historic property!
We stayed here for a week — two families with five teens. It was a perfect base for our Maine/ Acadia adventures! The house itself was clean, incredibly well outfitted, and decorated beautifully with period-appropriate antique and vintage furnishings. We so appreciated all the space to spread out both inside and out. When the weather was nice, we spent much of our time on the patio and in the fabulous gardens drinking in the dreamy harbor view! Moonrises and sunsets from here are to die for…
We really appreciated all that was provided at the house — linens and towels, including beach towels; extensive spices; paper products; mini soaps and shampoos and even a welcome gift.
We highly recommend: Bucklyn Coffee next door (try the oat milk mocha!), The Activity Shop for great kayak and paddle board rentals (you can readily launch from the house and we even saw seals while paddling in the harbor), Blaze across the street for yummy BBQ and live music (though patience may be required in terms of service), Sandy’s Cafe for breakfast or lunch right up the street (try their homemade-daily bagels and/or doughnuts!), the Blue Hill Mountain hike taking the trail from the post office across the street (turn it into a loop— a little over 4 miles total, first half uphill! — but so lovely. Trail is hidden and unmarked though… take the rocky steps to the right of the post office loading dock), and you MUST look up local steel drum band Flash in the Pans and attend one of their outdoor concerts in Blue Hill Park!
We made many wonderful memories here and would return in a heartbeat.

Great trip to Wooden Boat
A wonderful house in Blue Hill! The house was great, immaculate and very comfortable. We loved the kitchen and the beautiful living room with the ever changing view of the bay. The internet was strong and easy to log on and all in all, our very best stay in our 5 visits to the area. Thank you for sharing your wonderful summer place!

Perfect get away
Everything was fantastic. Great location in town and on the harbor. A rare combination. Close to a great coffee and next to a wonderful gallery. Near the library and park. A short trip to the market. Hiking across the street. Water behind the house. We were always happy here.

Beautiful Property with Gorgeous Views
Eighty-three Main Street was perfect for our extended family of 11. Our family of three grown children, their significant others, and 3 grandchildren had a fabulous week. The house was well-appointed, beautifully updated and the cook's kitchen was the perfect place to gather to cook special meals. The views from the patio and beautiful gardens were glorious. We look forward to staying again in the future.

Super House, Great Location
Centrally located on Main St of Blue Hill yet very well insulated from the street sounds - peaceful house with really nice backyard overlooking the cove. Kitchen was a highlight and all of our guests appreciated the ensuite bathrooms. Highly recommended!
