About this house rental
Our family has a love for the coast and an affinity for the historic town of Beaufort, North Carolina, a waterfront community and one time home of the notorious pirate, Blackbeard. We love to boat, surf, scuba dive, sail, kayak, fish and wander the beaches in search of ocean treasures. We gravitate to all things nautical including GREAT seafood and seaside ambience. We are adventure seekers and this coastal home is the perfect getaway where we can pursue all our seaside passions. We named the house Nimbus Novem which was the name of our first sailboat, a 1972 29 foot Ericson that was our young family's camper on the water from 1999 to 2015. Nimbus Novem or Cloud Nine translated from Latin, was built in 2019 in the community of Beaucoast and is a 2nd home for the Exums. The house runs off a solar array system with Tesla panels and 2 whole-house backup Tesla Powerwall batteries. In the event of a power outage, this house will continue to be powered by solar energy and battery backup. Nimbus Novem is also vacation rental we are excited to share with other adventure seekers. Beaucoast is a planned community with dock for launching kayaks and temporary boat mooring, a kayak storage barn, a community swimming pool, a fitness center, a boutique convenience store “Traders”, a clubhouse with ping pong tables, picturesque kayak & fishing ponds and an inviting close knit community of homeowners and vacation goers. Google "Beaucoast" to find out more. It's nestled in Beaufort just off Taylor's creek with countless restaurants, bars, a brewery, coffee shops and shopping. You are a 15 minute car ride to some amazing beaches in Atlantic Beach. This 4 bedroom house sleeps 16 comfortably, 4 of which have their own space in our studio apartment with kitchenette, full bath and an outside shower. The apartment is over the garage. This house has a screened in porch in front and outdoor terrace in the back with table, chairs and rockers, a garage and level II EV (Electrical Vehicle) charging outlet. House has 7 adult bicycles, and 2 kid bikes. PLEASE NOTE: we sometimes block the studio apartment room for owner usage for brief maintenance trips, while tenants are staying in the MAIN house. Please make sure when you inquire that you specify that you need the 4th bedroom which is the studio apartment. The house sleeps 12 and the with the apartment over the garage the property sleeps 16. The property is equipped with exterior Ring cameras for security purposes.

We had such a wonderful time experiencing the beauty and comfort of Nimbus Novem! The house was perfect for an incredibly memorable trip with our whole family. The home provided a perfect launch point for our adventures along the Crystal Coast. The neighborhood was a great place for us to walk and exercise with the gym and abundant sidewalks. The pool was a great place to relax at the end of the day. On top of all of that, Steve and Molly were excellent hosts! We can't wait to come back!

First time staying at Beau Coast but long time visitor to the area as we lived in the area about 15 years ago and visit as often as we can. The house was wonderful and was a great getaway from the normal hustle and bustle. The community pool, Beau to Go (Beaufort Grocery shoutout!), and the numerous ponds were great for the kids and adults. I would highly recommend this house and the community. We had great walks and runs in the morning and evenings and love how close it was to downtown Beaufort. The kids could ride bikes and had a wonderful time exploring and fishing. Didn't get a chance to use the kayaks but its a great access. If we get another house rental down there, this will be our first choice!

Steve was beyond communicative and helpful from the start of the booking process. As a host, Steve went above and beyond to assure the check-in process was seamless for our family. We were highly impressed with the cleanliness of the home, along with the abundance of inclusions. The home was well equipped with kitchenware and even outdoor activities for the children (bicycles, ping pong, cornhole, etc.). The neighborhood is in a prime location for convenient access to downtown Beaufort. Our children loved the community pool and the ability to safely walk the neighborhood. We can't thank Steve enough for his hospitality and will certainly be booking again for our family and friends!

Loved the house. Very clean in great condition and well-stocked. Perfect layout downstairs with beautiful kitchen, living room, and dining room with large long table. Kids loved playing ping pong in the garage. Very nice community clubhouse and fitness center. Owners are so nice-helpful and great communication.

Beatiful, great location and fabulously decorated. It had everything you could possibly need in the rooms, bathrooms and kitchen. A gas grill and extra fridge in the garage. Pingpong table was enjoyed! We rode the Nimbus bikes around the neighbourhood and on Front street. So much to see and discover. Loved our visit. Communications with Steve and Molly were excellent. Cannot thank him enough for our perfectly wonderful stay.

We absolutely loved our visit to Beaufort. I found the home to be beautiful, clean and comfortable. The community pool was a wonderful amenity to have, especially for the little ones. The location was great as well in relation to Beaufort’s downtown area. I loved the small beach side feel while also being close enough to the beach which was absolutely beautiful. I would definitely stay here again!

This home has it all. Very accommodating and
clean. Well appointed decor. The community amenities, outdoor shower, bikes, beach toys/accessories, location, all make this home a slam dunk for your next vacation. Thank you for allowing us to make such great memories in a new community.

Our week in Beaufort was perfect in large part due to Steve and his beautiful home. The house was so clean, everything in working order, and if we had question on where to find something Steve was quick to call or text me. We loved having the games in the garage and bikes to ride. I can't recommend this property enough if you are headed to Beaufort!

Beautiful, immaculately clean home. Pictures on site don’t do it justice. Decor looks professionally done. Beau Coast is a great vacation spot for families. Our young children loved the pool. Exactly as described. Would definitely recommend for a family vacation.

Everything about this house is first class. The furnishings are top of the line…chef’s kitchen with everything you could possibly need. (even a butler’s pantry) Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable with a tv in each bedroom. Loved the outdoor shower for getting rid of sand. Only problem was our stay was too short!

Novus Nimbem's interior furniture, artwork, and overall set up was absolutely fantastic. You can tell they put a lot of thought and care into the house. Great speakers, huge TV, brand new refrigerator, spacious screened in porch. Top notch. I could not think of a better value in beaufort if you're looking for a place to sleep 6+ people. Steve was very helpful and reponsive as well ... I'll be back!

We were group of 10 friends in town for a wedding. Steve was a great communicator and the house was excellent. While the full 16 allowed would be cramped, all advertised beds have real, comfortable mattresses, whereas many properties just have some very uncomfortable futons or cots. Owners put real thought and money into furnishing the house well. Would absolutely stay at nimbus novem again.

Our family decided to take a last minute Spring Break trip to Beaufort and it turned out to be one of the best trips we have ever had. My parents as well as my sister and her family decided to join us. The house was perfect for all of us and my parents enjoyed the garage apartment! The layout of the house worked perfect for our family with mostly small children and a couple of teenagers. The kids also enjoyed all the fun things the house offered including the bikes and game tables! We also loved the neighborhood and spent a lot of time walking and biking. We loved our evening walks to the dock to watch dolphins and horses while the sun went down.
This was our first time to the area and Steve had a great book of suggestions for adventures and restaurants in the area. We spent time at Cape Lookout gathering sea shells, ate some really awesome meals at area restaurants and took a wonderful sunset cruise on our last night! Steve was also very helpful and responsive with any questions we had. We hope to come back very soon again!

Home was clean, very nicely maintained, wonderful amenities that unfortunately we were able to use due to rain, owners were accommodating and easy to work with. Would recommend this property with the caveat that “big brother” is watching with outside cameras. We enjoyed the property and did everything we could to take care of it while we were there but I have to admit knowing you were being watched felt a little odd. Outside of that, great property!

Excellent attention to detail in every area is the best way to describe this home and its hosts. Even the decorations and furniture arrangement was condusive to relaxation and fun. Conversations before, during and after our stay were easy and helpful. Everything we needed and more than we could use was available. Our kids enjoyed ping pong, Foosball, and several family games. All seven of us were able to ride bikes together with an adukt tricycle to spare. Our host even had a kid's seat installed for us so our 3 year old could ride. The location was wonderful with the water, the town and a nice park all within minutes of walking, biking, or driving. Exciting adventures were available from 2 to 30 minutes away. We did not use many of the neighborhood amenities because of the season but did enjoy a couple of meals from Traders. We highly recommend this home as a great home base for the trip you want.

We had a family wedding at the Beaufort Hotel, which was a 2 minute drive… some even walked! The home was very, very comfortable, clean and beautiful. We drove to the beach for the morning, went to the outdoor market and had a delicious take out lunch from Beaufort Grocery in our own back yard. We needed and wanted more time!! Next time…!! Everything was wonderful!

What a wonderful place to stay in Beaufort NC! It was absolutely perfect for our family get-together to celebrate our parent's 50th anniversary! It's in a lovely quiet neighborhood, and still plenty close enough to Beaufort and the other nearby cities. The house was extremely clean, spacious, and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We really enjoyed hanging out in the screened font porch, playing cornhole, ping pong, and foosball, and catching some nice bass in the pond behind the house! Steve and Molly were absolutely wonderful hosts, and they really went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay! You can tell they really care that their guests have the absolute best experience possible. Communication with the hosts was also wonderful before, during, and after our visit. If you're planning a visit to Beaufort, I highly recommend staying at Nimbus Novem!!

Great times at Nimbus Novem
We had a great stay with our friends and family. We really loved biking around the neighborhood in the mornings.
We used the house’s kayaks to paddle over to horse /carrot island with the kids, which was very cool. We packed a lunch and did this trip one morning.
Definitely recommend watching the sunset on the water at the Beau Coast community dock. You may see dolphins and wild horses. We saw them one evening!!
Awesome local shopping and food options at Beaufort waterfront nearby.
We’d recommend the fish tacos at Front Street Tacos for lunch one day. (Great vegetarian taco options as well.)
The kiddos (ages ranging 7-10) loved the neighborhood pool as well as playing foosball and table tennis in the garage.
Really comfortable beds also!!
We visited Morehead city for the beach (new Bern st beach access, has great parking and restrooms/showers)
Thanks so much Nimbus Novem!! We look forward to staying here again.

Amazing location and Owners
We stayed at Nimbus Novem over Memorial Day for our annual family vacation. It’s always a challenge to find a place that works for our family as we have 5 kids currently under the age of 5 plus 8 adults and 2 teens. This house has everything we need and also a wonderful location. We rented golf carts which the kids loved and was able to ride to town in them without having to load all the kids in the cars and search for parking. The house had incredible kitchen items providing everything we needed. The community offers an incredible pool and other outdoor activities that you can’t get in most other locations such as Kayaking and play grounds. We loved loved our stay and the owners. They were very responsive every single time we contacted them before during and after our stay! Out of all the places we’ve visited, this was our favorite and we will be back! Thank you so much for such a lovely home and for sharing it with my family!

Wonderful time in Beaufort
Talk about the perfect place to relax! This was our second visit to Beaufort and Nimbus Novem, this time bringing my in-laws. Steve, the owner, sends a great “things to-do” list of attractions for the area that made unified decisions on how to spend our time so much easier.
The house is fantastic! The size allows for everyone to spread out when they want to relax quietly while someone else watches a movie or listens to music in the den. The screened porch was excellent for reading and storm watching. My father-in-law went fishing in the waterway behind the house and landed 9 big mouth bass in one day. If you want to show your kids how much fun fishing can then this is an excellent place to start.
My mother-in-law took full advantage of the Beau Coast Gym. She said the equipment was in excellent shape and clean.
Thanks for a wonderful and much needed getaway. We will certainly be back!

Like home, but better!
Everything we needed to make the stay comfortable was already here. I had some work to do, and there was a desk and awesome WiFi for zoom calls. We loved the screened in porch and upstairs balcony and really felt like we could unwind. But our favorite was the ping pong table in the garage. Our teenagers had a blast, as did we—just a great opportunity to bond without screens! We weren’t able to kayak because it was windy and a bit chilly, but we’ll save that for a future visit—and we do plan to return! Truly beautiful home that offered our family a much needed escape! And of course we just love exploring Beaufort, Morehead and Atlantic Beach!

Weekend getaway
This beautiful home in Beaucoast was the perfect location for the weekend with friends to celebrate a birthday. Between the eight of us we all had plenty of space to relax from the living/kitchen area, front porch, back deck and garage with games. Everything was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Steve was a great host and we very much appreciate his accommodations with check in/out times. Would love to be back when it’s warm out to hang by the pool!

Beaufort, the best kept secret
Such a charming house, spacaous and immaculate. Love the screened in front porch. The Beacoast community was new to us. We had no idea it so many amenities. The clubhouse, the fire pit, the pool and the dock on Taylor’s creek were a treat. There was a public boat ramp less than 5 minutes from the house. We brought our Caroline Skiff and the home owner Steve provided a place to park our boat on a trailer very close to the public boat access during our stay when we weren’t on the water. My son used one of kayaks that came with the house for paddle near the Beaucoast dock. We especially loved our pirate lead ghost tour with Beaufort Ghost Walks during an evening trip to eat on the downtown waterfront. We will definitely be coming back. Great house and location with so much to do and Steve really made our stay easy.

Perfect Family Getaway
We had an amazing experience in Beaufort. This home had an authentic nautical feel. We just loved all the natural wood tones. It truly had everything we needed. The kitchen is fully stocked to cook a family meal. Our kids loved the hanging bed in the hallway. That bed was a hit! We were able to bike ride downtown for dinners, coffee and catch a sightseeing boat for an excursion to see wild horses. Our favorite thing was biking with our morning coffee to the community dock and watching the sun rise. The beds and linens were very comfortable. Steve was super responsive via text when we needed to understand how the key fobs helped us access the Beaucoast fitness center. Hope to come back in the summer and enjoy the pool. We highly recommend this home. Beaufort is an incredibly charming waterfront town.

This place is awesome! Beautifully decorated with a beach theme and close to fine dining in Beaufort. This home is located in a community of colorfully painted houses that lifted our spirits. Hosts Steve and Molly were helpful and easy to work and we plan to visit again in the future.
