About this house rental
Enjoy the beauty of East Tennessee with a stay in this authentic 100 year old farmhouse. Located close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but far enough away to get out of the crowds and traffic. Both Douglas and Cherokee Lakes are close by as well as convenient access to Knoxville and Morristown. Enjoy a peaceful vacation, business trip, or fishing excursion while staying on a working farm surrounded by animals and wildlife.
We have made some general updates to a 100+ year old house to provide modern comfort and convenience. However, we wanted to keep the authentic farmhouse charm with our décor. You will find the home furnished with antiques and will notice pictures throughout the house of Henry and Altha Puckett who called this place home from the 1940's until Mrs. Puckett passed away at the age of 103 in 2015.
This property is located on a working farm, so you may see several activities going on during your stay depending on the season. Generally your view will consist of a quiet pasture with cattle grazing and the occasional deer or wild turkey passing through. Plenty of parking is available near the house, we just ask that you do not block access to the barn with your vehicles during the day.
Other things to note:
2.5 miles to I-40
5.5 miles to Douglas Lake
8 miles to Carson-Newman University
12.5 miles to Cherokee Lake
25 miles to Dollywood
27 miles to the University of Tennessee
30 miles to Gatlinburg

Great experience. It was like sitting in my Grandmas house which I cherished growing up. Enjoyed the decor and history behind it. Great place to reflect on importance of enjoying a simple life. As my son was fishing in a big tournament on Cherokee Lake it allowed much needed time with one of my adult granddaughters. Memories made for sure. Thanks again for the hospitality.

I loved staying at the Puckett house. It was home away from home and a great place to reset after a busy day with famiky that live locally.

We loved the absolutely beautiful farm setting. The home was comfortable and unique. We felt at ease and especially enjoyed the swing on the front porch. The home is the perfect place for relaxing, but close to all the fun that East Tennessee has to offer!

The Puckett House is located in a quiet area just outside of Sevierville. It is out of the way and off the beaten path but it is nestled perfectly for day trips to the Smoky Mountain areas. The house has a cute old farmyard feel to it and is extremely comfortable. The host is attentive and has paid attention to details that matter when you are away from home. Comfortable, convenient, and quaint. We’d stay again!!

We had a great time at The Pucket House. It was perfect for our stay in northeastern Tenn. Very close to Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and the price was great. We stayed there Dec. 29th through Jan 2nd. We would definitely stay here again on a future visit to this area, if it was available and we will recommend it to family and friends. Heather Martin was a wonderful host, even though we did not get to meet her in person but was available if we needed her. This house had everything we needed for our stay. Sincerely: Robert Perkins

We love this little house. Very convenient with no steep, narrow roads to get to it. Mrs. Heather is very helpful and responds quickly. Enjoyed watching the deer in the mornings.

This house is very clean and cozy, not too far from the interstate and no crazy winding roads to have to endure. Perfect for a quiet getaway, beautiful porch with a great view for morning coffee. Close enough to Pigeon Forge and Sevierville to go do things. This house is wonderful and priced well for the area.

This had the feel of being at grandmas house. Very clean! Outside was beautiful. The porch swing in the morning with coffee was wonderful. We saw deer rabbits and of course cows. Amenities were more than expected. Snacks soups s’mores all provided. We will definitely be back.

This place is wonderful. Far enough away from city to enjoy the country and close enough to drive to enjoy city attractions in Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
We were so happy with everything. It was comfortable for the 7 of us and we also had other friends gather for a nice evening of food and hanging out. The host - Heather is so nice and very easy to reach if you had any questions or issues. I highly recommend staying here and enjoying a Tennessee vacation.

We enjoyed grilling and having a bonfire. Will definitely love to visit again.

We loved the decor of the house. The beds were super comfortable! Very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Heather was wonderful with communication. I took a fall and a trip to the ER while there. She messaged me several times throughout the weekend and showed genuine kindness. We will definitely book again in the future. It’s the perfect family getaway. Close enough to Dollywood without having to get in all the traffic around Pigeon Forge hotels, and WAY NICER AND CLEANER than any hotels we’ve found in the area!

We used the Puckett House as our "base camp" to visit the Great Smoky National Park & Dollywood. My 11 & 13 yr old grandsons were THRILLED to have the attic as their room. The country setting was a break from their suburban upbringing. We played chess multiple times with the antique chess set (using one of our own gaming pieces for the missing rook), and we brought games that we played at the table each evening. (There is a chest with games if you forget your own). Our boys picked tomatoes & a pepper from the raised bed & marveled at the cows! The little touches were so impressive! S'mores fixins' (we only ate the chocolate bars!), sample toiletries, various k-cups, etc. These folks are born hosts! Highly recommend this country setting!

The best place!
If you like a place off the beaten path that has a lot of old time charm and takes you to the country, this is the place for you!
It’s 20 minutes from Douglas Dam camp ground/boat ramp (we fish the Mountain Music Kids Fishing tournament every year, so this was a great location!)
We were about 20 min from dandridge and about 30 min from Pigeon Forge. Nice country roads to get you there, it literally feels like a 10-15 min drive!
The host literally had everything we would need! All types of coffee!! Flavor packets for water!! A basket full of stuff for s’mores and firewood already on the fire pit (might need lighter fluid if you can’t start a fire without it!)
There were a few laundry tablets if we needed them. There was even a drawer that had extra q-tips, razors, bandaids, etc! She literally had thought of everything anyone might need!
BOARD GAMES GALORE! My kids aren’t growing up in the world of board games like I did, so they thought this was a huge hit!!
King bedroom was good size!
The day bed is in a room between the kitchen and bathroom (must walk through it): had a trundle bed as well! Perfect for kids!
Upstairs is SO FLIPPING CUTE! My kids are 10 and 7, I was worried that my clumsy 7 year old woken fall, but he didn’t! I would be extra careful before I had little bitty ones stay up there alone due to stairs but there was TONS of room! Has a full bed and twin. Plenty room for a pack n play or air mattresses if you had more kids!
There were 6 of us- 4 adults and 2 kids and we had more than enough r room.
Everything was so clean! Sheets smelled clean! The bathroom was so clean! Towels so clean!
Beds were comfy!
I felt safe the entire time as did the rest of us.
We all said we would definitely come back again!
Check in was easy!
Requirements when checking out were easy!
Thank you so much for providing a cute little old house that has so much charm and takes us out of the busy Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg life into a nice country setting.

Our family recently stayed here three nights while in the area visiting CNU. It is the perfect location to get to so many East TN activities and venues. We highly recommend this historic farm house to anyone looking for the authentic off the beaten path East Tennessee country experience. Thank you so much for sharing your well appointed farm house with true Southern hospitality.
