Nothing extra by any means but if you just need a place to sleep it’s perfect. Comfortable. May husband enjoyed the fishing. I was able to make a makeshift quilting studio. It worked for a couple of days away. Enjoyed Southern Sky Music Cafe and 1011 Bistro.

We found the cabin quite rustic as described but did not feel clean. The bedding was old and comforter did not appear fresh. The love seat was the same. We did not stay.

We came to town to meet up with some old friends and ride the twisted sisters. The cabin was the perfect spot for us. Would highly recommend!

We booked this at the last minute because there were no reasonably priced places to stay in Fredericksburg. The owners had recently converted an office to VRBO status. Lovely setting in the bamboo forest. The place is clean and nice. Some changes are needed like better lighting over the couch. Reading lamps for the bed. Places to put luggage. Shelves on the wall that don't knock you down trying to get into bed. I am sure the owners will correct these things in the near future.

Perfect location and amenities that we wanted in our quick visit to see our daughter. We will be back, soon!

Property manager fantastic, door handle knob kept locking on its own, did home some issues with bugs getting into the cabin at night and keeping us up, loved being right on the water. Would abbey enjoy an easier way to get into the water, a little steep.

Had a great time on the river in this little spot. Beautiful relaxing riverfront. Loved fishing and watching the deer come in for dinner. David was a great host. He saved us on our way out, our battery died and he left what he was doing to give us a jump! Can’t wait to come back!

I was happy to find a small cabin available near water on Christmas Day. The year had really gotten to me and a getaway was needed on short notice. My partner joined me on the second day. It was so quiet, and the open space downhill and riverfront access were perfect. Lots of deer, and water animals. David, the caretaker, was very helpful and made the process easy. Lots of privacy here!

In regards to the cabin things were fine. We got a call to say they needed to repair the toilet incase we arrived before they were completed but all was fine on arrival.
The cabin would greatly benefit from a shower install but that was my oversight. I saw photos of a shower and assumed it was in the cabin…not a separate shower house.
The shower was adequate for me (but not my wife) as there was no heat snd the temperature was as low as 27 degrees.
The heating in the cabin worked well…too well as it seemed to only blow on high heat which forced me to get up through the night to turn it off. Again not horrible and too much heat is better than not enough. The manager did bring a small space heater to use overnight our last night there to keep the big chill off.
Finally we had some water heater issues and attempted to contact Backroads via web messaging but never received a response. Fortunately on check in Dave, the manager said to let him know if we had any issues so I messaged him. He came and looked at it, turned the temperature up and it worked ok till the next day and it happened again. I didn’t bother Dave this time and just turned it up a bit more again.
Checkin and check out was easy and we enjoyed our time in the Texas Hill Country. Not sure we would book again.

cute little cabin
beautiful property on the river. lots of deer and the resident friendly cat (groucho 😍). quick walk to the “hey barn” for food and drinks. a full bath would make it fabulous but the bathhouse was clean and close.

Place was very accurate and wonderful river view, main thing was the cabin was very dusty and spider webs were everywhere and spiders so that wasn't nice to see for the amount of money place charged for. There was a restaurant very close and they had live bands playing pretty much until 10 or 11 at night and it got loud so that was another minus.

Could be little cheaper and cleaner.

Everything about this trip was wonderful! The property is just breathtaking. The cabin was comfortable for the two of us. Even though there are other places on the property, we still felt like it was just us there. Would definitely visit again!

While I feel like it would've been more accurate to have this cabin listed as a part of an RV park and as a cabin directly behind another rental vacation house, we were overall exceedingly happy with our experience mostly due to the very professional and capable assistance of the property manager David. He directed us to great swimming spots, provided us with tubes and chairs and made sure we knew all the ins and outs of the bathhouse and the property overall. Without him there to direct and assist this cabin would have been very overpriced for a small cabin with no shower. We had a great stay and enjoyed a very private feeling time swimming in the river even though there were a few other guests. The HALF ASS BAR next door had live music and good drinks too on a Saturday night. We loved the bamboo and the comfy retreat feeling of the cute cabin.
