About this house rental
We are pleased to offer you a truly whimsical treasure. Salt Box is an enchanting and quaint village home that has been tastefully renovated but still maintains its old style charm. There is a romantic covered outdoor living area that flows to a large walled backyard for privacy as well as garden entertaining. The main cottage has 3 air conditioned bedrooms, 2 on the main floor and an ensuite master bedroom suite upstairs. The cottage has 2 air conditioned bedrooms with a shared bathroom and outdoor shower. A large salt water swimming pool ties the two cottages together. The old style kitchen is equipped with fridge, stove, cooking utensils with a historic fireplace backdrop original from circa 1820. There are various lounging spaces which including the cozy indoor living room and the calm outdoor living room perfect for reading or having small dinner parties. The guest cottage has a small outdoor living room and outdoor eating area to have all your meals under cover overlooking the pool. There is a small BBQ made from repurposed stones from the vintage home where you can cook and sit under the trees.

We absolutely loved our stay at Salt Box! It was in the middle of town, yet it felt very private secluded in the backyard! The kids loved the nice sized pool, and getting to the beach was a breeze! Sofia was an excellent host! Highly recommend!

Such a charming property and the backyard looks like it is out of a magazine. We had the most magical stay at the Salt Box. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the cottage is just adorable! One couple had the cottage all to themselves and they were over the moon with their quarters. The host is very responsive and kind and the housekeeper is also amazing. We would definitely come back to the Salt Box!

The home was lovely! It was perfect for our Bahamas visit. We were 4 adults & 2 children and we all had plenty of space and accommodations. The backyard and pool was perfect for the kids. The kitchen felt like traveling back in time and was so fun. The home provided all the essentials, even beach hats, beach totes, & a small bar. The host left water for us & a few items in the fridge, including sodas & mixers. The home was a five minute walk to the beach or Valentines Hotel. It was central and easy. We hope to return next year.

Our stay at Salt Box was an incredible experience. This is already our favorite island in the Bahamas and we now may have a favorite property! The whole property is very friendly for a large or small group!

The Saltbox is a stunning and secluded property in town. It’s an easy walk to shops, restaurants and the beach. The home is beautifully decorated with old island charm and modern conveniences. It’s incredibly comfortable for large groups or families.

The Salt Box is an incredibly beautiful property. Unassuming from the entrance, you step into an oasis with tons of charm to boot. We had 4 infant / toddlers that were very comfortable as well.

This is the best VRBO we have ever stayed at. The house is beautifully decorated and the landscaping is gorgeous. It had everything we could need and more. The location is right in the middle of everything and the host and staff were incredibly helpful and kind. We highly recommend and can’t wait to go back.

Salt Box is everything and more! Cozy, spacious and every bit of homey. Its a perfect compliment to/extension of the interior design draw of Harbour Island. Its so lovely you find yourself wanting to be there as much as you want to be exploring the island. The owner, house manager, & gardener were all wonderful and so helpful! Highly recommend and can't wait to return and stay here again!

The Salt Box was absolutely perfect for my friend group of 8 people. Pretty much everything on the island is walkable, and the house/garden is truly an oasis. Sofia and her team are so responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back!

From the booking and communication with our host, Sophia (seamless) to the stay itself, we are so thankful. We had a small issue with the kitchen stove one morning--Briana communicated it to the handyman and it was fixed right away. Everything needed was available and tended to thoughtfully. The house and cottage were perfect for our party of 6, celebrating a milestone birthday. We rented a golf cart for 6 for the duration of the trip and enjoyed our forays around the island. The highlights were lounging together and talking in the outdoor seating area, cooking lobster tails and flank steak one evening on the outdoor grill (all the men want to build one in their own homes now) and finding out we were only one block from Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Very welcoming island from the Saltbox to all we encountered. Thank you.

Our stay at this house was pure bliss! The accommodations at the home are as nice as any 5 star hotel, with well appointed bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as daily turndown service. The pool and grounds look like something out of magazine, and we spent most of our time enjoying the outdoor living room. The house is very conveniently located with the beach and restaurants just a short walk or golf cart ride away. The host Sofia was very welcoming and was very responsive to all our questions leading up to the trip. I hope to stay here and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a stylish retreat on Harbour Island.

We adored out time here, and cannot wait to return! Sofia is the loveliest host. We absolutely adored the outdoor spaces, from swimming in the heated pool, to taking refuge from the rain under the lounge tent structure in the backyard. Every detail in the house is perfection.

We had the absolute BEST time at the salt box and in harbour island!!! I am literally planning a trip back :) it was such a cool property with amazing outdoor space, a very well appointed kitchen, and great sleeping arrangements. We did a golf cart which was perfect for us to get around the island and felt super safe! 5 stars for salt box!!!!

This rental provided us with an oasis within an oasis.
Our group of seven (three kids, two parents and two grandparents) were easily accommodated.
The yard, pool, and outdoor showers were amazing and utilized daily.
I’ve never had a more responsive host, and Briana and the rest of the crew who showed up daily were enjoyable to chat with and most helpful with our questions.
The house is in the center of it all and provided easy access to the beach, our boat charters, and all of our dinner reservations.

We had the best time and wonderful stay at saltbox. The entire team was so helpful from getting the house ready, stocking the kitchen with food, keeping it clean and helping plan fun activities. Not to mention we forgot one suitcase and they helped us get it home safely. Cant say enough good things about our experience! It’s also very chic. Will definitely be booking this spot again and again. Xx

Salt Box is incredibly charming and well appointed. The house has everything you need AND the design of the home is very attractive in terms of the interiors. If you are a person who appreciates design you’ll very much enjoy the thoughtful details throughout. The interior lawn and pool is also beautiful and peaceful; we spent several late afternoons enjoying some shady respite by the pool. We did not prepare any large meals at the house but the outdoor dining area is clearly well suited for families or a group of adults - I can imagine it would be a lovely setting for ‘home’ cooked dinner. The owners have created a little slice of paradise in Salt Box - we couldn’t recommend it more!

Our stay at Salt Box was fantastic. The experience in person matched exactly how you would imagine a stay would be based on their Instagram account. The property is stunning. I loved arriving back at the house every day after our adventures and sitting by the pool with a glass of wine.
We had two families staying there (our family or 4 and another family of 3). My family occupied the main house and the other family was in the guest house. It was perfect because each family had privacy but we largely together except when sleeping. We spent most of our time enjoying the outdoor space. There are so many great places to choose from to hang out and relax.
Our kids loved the pool and there was enough room in the backyard for them to play football and hide and seek.
The owners, house manager, and pool person were very attentive and responsive.
My only advice to the owners would be to have some plastic cups and more melamine plates/bowls etc. I was worried giving the good glasses to the kids to drink! ;)

The Salt Box was nicely situated in town, but quiet at night even in the midst of high school Spring Break! The two houses allow for privacy. It's perfect for a group that plans to eat out, but wants a nice relaxing home base. The pink outdoor shower was amazing!

I was lucky enough to plan a trip for a group of friends to Harbour Island, and (after a few previous vacations staying elsewhere) I knew I wanted to stay at the Saltbox. The property has so much charm between the historic main house and gorgeous cottage, and the grounds are absolutely breathtaking. While we loved this house for our group of friends, it would be wonderful for two families as well. Brianna, the housekeeper, was a delight, and all of our communication with Sofia and Elie was a breeze. Thank you for the most wonderful memories- we will be back!!
