About This Listing

Who knows, but you won’t find out staying at our fantastic beachfront get-a-way nestled just across the street from the beautiful sands of historic Imperial Beach, the last of the small beach towns that made San Diego famous. Our spacious 3BR/3BA condo will deliver the beach to you with floor-to-ceiling patio doors overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the white caps of the waves washing up on shore.
About The Space
This 3br/3ba condo is beautifully decorated with a perfect mix of modern décor and comfortable living. Enjoy a fully-equipped kitchen, high-speed internet, 3 flat-screen SMART TVs (equipped with all the latest apps like Pandora, Netflix and Kodi), and a spacious living room area with floor-to-ceiling doors that open up to a fully-furnished patio overlooking the Pacific, where you can watch the local surfers ride the waves.
Bedrooms:
One Master Suite is located on the third floor and overlooks the ocean with floor-to-ceiling windows. The room is equipped with a large flat-screen Smart TV mounted on the wall and a strong WiFi signal. The large en-suite bathroom has tons of closet space, dual vanities and separate shower and commode facilities. The bed is a high-end California King, fully adjustable and features full-body massage options. Raise your head with your hand-held remote and watch the ocean. Open the windows at night and fall asleep to the crashing waves below and breathe in the fresh salt air. On both sides of the bed are plenty of electrical and USB ports to charge all your devices. For large groups, a day bed/trundle is located under the TV and can sleep 2 children or adults comfortably.
Bedroom Two is also on the third floor and also a spacious Master Suite and is as quiet as can be. This room also has a Smart TV and a high-end California King canopy bed. The charming en-suite bath is clean and well-decorated. This room also has no shortage of closet space, so feel free to over-pack.
Bedroom Three is on the second floor, just steps away from the front door and a common-area bathroom. The bed is a super-comfortable Queen with high quality linens. A small work desk is here for those emails that need to be sent without any distractions.

About The Area
Historic Imperial Beach is the last of the small beach towns that made San Diego’s “laid back” lifestyle world-famous. In recent years, the area has undergone a major renaissance and is now fully gentrified.
Imperial Beach was named the Best Place to Live in San Diego by San Diego Magazine in March 2017. With red-hot restaurants like Sea 180 Coastal Tavern, Brigantine, El Tapatio, Aroma Thai and Coronado Brewing Company just a short walk away, it’s easy to see why!
Our location right across the street from the beach and historic “I.B. Pier” is the perfect spot to relax, and get-away-from-it-all or relax during the day, and be a part of it all at night.
A beach park is right across the street from the building and serves as the epicenter of the famous Imperial Beach Sandcastle contest as well as other events, including Ironman competitions and triathlons. If your visit brings you here on a Friday, be sure to catch the Imperial Beach Farmer’s market in this same space that brings together locally grown produce and samplings of the mom-and-pop eateries.
In the morning, wake up to fresh pastries and crepes at the trendy Par Amour bakery just across the street and sit al fresco as you watch the pelicans and seagulls scour the beach in their morning routines.
Or, if you prefer, feel free to cook breakfast in your private and fully equipped chef’s kitchen with large cooktop, full-size oven and plenty of counter space. Didn’t bring provisions? No worries! There’s a well-stocked convenience store less than 30 steps from the entrance of the secured building. Craving a little something sweet? Then next door to Par Amour is Cow-A-Bunga, a gourmet ice cream shop and just steps away from that, Babycakes, where the cupcakes are delicious!
While there, why not plan ahead and pick up a bottle of wine (or something stronger) to watch the sunset from your fully furnished patio. Or step outside, cross the street and walk the length of the legendary, wooden Imperial Beach pier (one of the longest wooden piers on the West Coast) and watch the sun disappear behind the watery horizon.
Just a short drive away is also the Tijuana Estuary, a sanctuary for endangered birds and plants that’s free and open to the public Wednesdays through Sundays (except certain holidays). If you’re a nature lover or bird watcher, this is a must-see!
Because we’re just 10 minutes south of Downtown San Diego by car or Uber/Lyft, we are a perfect destination for Padres games (or whoever is beating them this week!) and other downtown events and concerts. While there, hang out in the terrific Gaslamp District, the headquarters for San Diego’s nightlife scene.
If you want to visit some of San Diego’s history, you can drive slightly West of Downtown San Diego to Coronado, home of the picturesque Hotel Del Coronado, one of the oldest and largest beachfront hotels on the Pacific.
We are also just 10 minutes north of the busiest land border in the world, the Tijuana Port of Entry, where you can drive into Mexico and experience amazing culture and food, as Tijuana has become a major player in the international foodie scene. If you’re craving a more authentic Mexican experience, drive 40 minutes south of Tijuana to Puerto Nuevo and eat fresh-caught lobsters on the beach or continue a little further south and walk the shops of beautiful Ensenada.
Some other local notes to savor:
We are just 20 minutes south of San Diego’s historic “Old Town”, which features shops and some of the best Mexican Food in the country.
Shopping on your mind? We are just 25 minutes south of the Fashion Valley Mall, where you’ll find shops by Prada, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Apple, Microsoft, Bose, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus and of course, Nordstrom. Or if value is on your mind, visit the outlet malls at Las Americas, just 10 minutes Southeast and shop Nike, Reebok, Coach, and many others name-brand stores.
We are just 20 minutes south of San Diego’s International Airport.
We are just 15 minutes away from the world famous San Diego Zoo, which is surrounded by beautiful Balboa Park, which is home to many area museums.

My sisters and I had a wonderful stay from start to finish. The hosts so helpful, they went the extra mile for sure. Truly made our traveling and stay much nicer.
The condo is clean and spacious. Gave us a nice place to relax after outings, or when staying in a great view of the ocean.
Would definitely book with them again.

Diane and Gary’s place is by far and away the most beautiful VRBO property we’ve ever stayed at!! The personal touches, spacious accommodations, beautiful indoor / outdoor flow and jaw dropping beach front views made our first trip to San Diego beyond special! We traveled with our 2 young children and their grandma. Everyone had their own room, bathroom and were very comfortable! The wonderful assortment of games and puzzles coupled with YouTube TV was fantastic. And the chef’s kitchen made meal prep, cooking and clean up a breeze!
We will definitely be back!! Huge thank you to Diane and Gary for hosting us in their truly one-of-a-kind home!!

We needed a home base for a family trip and this place was perfect. Clean, quiet, spacious. Close to the beach and several restaurants. Beds were super comfortable. Fit 6 adults and 1 kid without feeling cramped. Secure off-street parking was a huge bonus. Will definitely stay again if in the area.

This is our 3 year at imperial beach and 2nd year staying at this property! I can’t say enough great things about this property and the hosts they are amazing! So communicative and kind! This place has every thing you need for the beach and in the house. Full kitchen ready with any cooking utensils you need, with an amazing view! We had 5 adults and a child with us this year and we were all very very comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Great property in the heart of IB
This property overlooks the ocean in the heart of IB. It had everything we needed, from beach toys and games to blenders and coffee. It was well maintained and very clean. We enjoyed it very much.

Perfect Getaway
This property was perfect for our family vacation. Much to do nearby, extremely comfortable beds, and the most wonderful balcony view of the ocean. Diane was so helpful with suggestions of places to go/eat - and the property came with ABSOLUTELY everything you might need for a beach vacation. Finally, the private, reserved parking spots were the best!

Beautiful beachfront condo
Our family of six stayed at this property for 4 days and three nights. I have nothing but praises of this property and the owners.
The condo was well stocked with everything that we needed and then some. The beds were very comfortable and the condo was nice and clean. ** super important to us**
The back trifold door was AMAZING. We enjoyed having it open and listening to the beach waves and fresh air. The patio is super comfy.
The condo air conditioning was nice to have on at night while we slept and made it very comfortable. The property manager was so kind and helpful, she shared restaurant suggestions, tips and anything I could think of to ask her. Very sweet lady.
Great property location with only a few steps to the beach!
Thank you for a wonderful first time Imperial Beach experience…

Awesome Place!!!
This place was even better than expected! The views and location are amazing. The balcony is awesome and where we spent the majority of our time watching people, listening to the waves crash, and spending some great family time together. The condo is decorated beautifully and stocked with everything you need for cooking. The master bedroom has awesome views as well. Location is seriously everything with this place as it is directly across from the Imperial Beach Pier and within walking distance to restaurants and there is a mini market right on the corner across the street from the building. Imperial Beach is just a short drive from Coronado as well so it was very easy to go see the Del and try some of the great food options up in that area. Dianne was awesome to work with as well and super helpful answering my questions before booking and our arrival. Only thing I could have asked for was more time at this fantastic place. Thanks so much for having us, we hope to be back soon!

Location adjacent to pier puts you right in the heart of action yet quiet by late evening and morning. Market and restaurants steps from the property. Ample parking. Met owner/manager on site, so nice and attentive but not intrusive. Would recommend to everyone.

AWESOME
Great place to stay in IB right across from the pier. Diane met us at the condo and gave us a personal walk thru showing us the ins and outs . We stayed for 12 days over Christmas 2019 and filled the condo with family. The “wagon” in the storage room was incredible for moving in and for hauling groceries up. It saved LOTS of trips. The condo was well supplied and very comfortable. We asked if a Christmas tree was available for us and Diane said there would be one there and there was. We did not receive that generous accommodation in the other condo we rented. Can’t wait to return. T&L Eau Claire, Wi

Greatly Exceeded Our Expectations
This property was perfect for our family trip to the beach. We spent 6 nights here in August 2019 with our son, daughter in law and 2 grand children. The condo balcony opened wall to wall view of Imperial Beach and the Imperial Beach Pier.
3 Bedrooms, 3 baths and modern kitchen with everything you need for a beach vacation. This included body boards (the surf is great), sand pails, beach chairs in the storage area.
Diane, the owner met us when we checked in and stayed in touch during our visit to insure we had everything we needed. We will be back to Beachbreak #4

Family Fun IB Style
This is a great property - close to lots of restaurants/breweries and just steps away from the beach. Really enjoyed all the beach gear such as chairs, boogie boards and coolers.

It's the perfect place to stay for a beach getaway, couldn't ask for anything better. Owners are very responsive and accommodating.

The hosts could not be more helpful and hospitable. The place is super clean and homey, well-appointed with lots of personal detail and convenient touches. Brigantine downstairs for super convenient meals, beach views mesmerizing; two nights we caught fantastic sunsets while lounging on the lanai. A real treat for a family getaway!

We LOVED our house overlooking the Pier at Imperial Beach. The beach front location is perfect for a family get away. There are lots of places to each just steps from the unit including ice cream and cupcakes. There is a great children's playground an easy 5 min walk down the street.

When I rented the unit I was a little nervous with it being new and having no reviews but I glad I took the risk. I am just going to list my thoughts about it starting with the location.
Imperial Beach: is much less crowded than others to the north. Feels very safe for kids or being out after dark. Quiets down at a reasonable time without drunks in the streets. The locals are super friendly. Great variety of restaurants within a few blocks. Not over crowded.
The unit: is brand new, beautifully decorated (ultimately that is why we chose it) with modern finishings. The building is extremely secure. Beds are ridiculously comfortable. Comes fully equipped, even has a squatty potty in the master.
The owners: obviously take a lot of pride in there property. Are there to answer an questions. They wrote up instructions for everything to make it super easy, even lists of restaurants and things to do.
Book this place while you still can!

House is beautiful! We loved our stay. View was phenomenal. Gary was so helpful when we had questions.

I had to write this review for two reasons 1. There are no reviews for this property and 2. The owners are amazing and so is the property. Immediately upon arrival Diane walked me through how to get in and then about 30 mins later came by with sand toys for our kids and an awesome little treat basket filled with snacks and water. Totally nice touch especially since we've stayed at a few home away properties and never once met an owner. The home is brand new and the decor is beautiful as well as being extremely clean. Also the beds are super comfortable which is a big thing for my husband as he had back surgery a few yrs ago and needs a comfy bed. It also has massage and adjustable features. The view from the balcony and master bedroom are so spectacular and sitting of the patio listening the the waves and watching the surfers is exactly what we did every morning and evening. The owners use this as their vacation home too and you can tell since there are so many things that I haven't found in other vacation properties. They really take pride in their home and want to make sure that their renters have what they need too. The only thing I wish they had was detachable shower head in the downstairs bath. It just would've made cleaning the kids and bath tub up after a day at the beach easier. Other than that the house has everything you could possibly need and then some. The area is really great for kids and adults with plenty of options for food and fun. Thank you so much Gary and Diane for making this such a wonderful trip for our family. We are hoping to make this at least a yearly trip.
