We loved staying at “The Squirrels Nest”. It was an old time feel but with all the amenities. Beautiful view from the front porch and plenty of room! Well stocked and so many games and movies available! Can’t wait to go back

Just what we were looking for.
Other members of out group thank me for picking such a nice place
Kayaked from the dock, hiked Gulf Hagas, and visited/dined with our friends in Millinocket.
We enjoyed ourselves

One of my favorite trips ever. The property provided a comfortable and peaceful backdrop to our family time. My sister and niece live in SC.and we don"t get to visit often.
We went kayaking, built campfires, made Smores, and even laid on the dock to look.at the beautiful night sky without light pollution. There were inside activities available for rainy days.

This trip was perfect from the cozy well-stocked cabin to the quiet area. We can’t say enough about this cabin on the lake, it was everything and more than we could have hoped for. Sherry was very accommodating and quick to respond when needed. We enjoyed kayaking and listening to the loons on the lake. We would love to return in the future.

Our stay at the Squirrel’s Nest was top notch! We found that it was very clean and inviting.
We felt very welcomed and were provided useful information about the area. Sherry was always available and the checkin process went very smooth. We enjoyed the lake and especially kayaking. Our family had a truly
relaxing and refreshing week. We look forward to coming back to a slice of heaven!

We chose the Squirrel's Nest because it was within the 2024 eclipse path of totality. As a bonus it was near Bissel Brothers Three Rivers brewery and taproom, which I'd always wanted to visit but had little other reason to drive almost five hours just for a few beers.
We thoroughly enjoyed the stay here. There was plenty of room for the four of us. The kitchen had everything one could need and was well stocked with many food items, which is not typical in most home rentals.
We stayed in April so it was a bit chilly at night despite the warm daytime temperatures. To remedy the nightime chill, we fired up the wood burning stove and enjoyed hanging out playing games by the warmth of the stove.
The bedrooms were comfortable and with the windows open a crack, we awoke to the sounds of loons swimming on the picturesque lake behind the house. There was still ice on the pond, but if we were here in warmer weather, there were three kayaks in the garage for our use. Maybe next time!
I would very much reccommend the Squirrel's Nest for anyone looking for a secluded getaway in northern Maine to disconnect and relax.

We had a great time snowmobiling out of the cabin. The trails were easily accessible off the lake or going down the road. We had a great time and will be staying again.

The cabin was just as shown in the pictures, if not better. The location is just far enough out from town, but close enough to venture out if needed for essentials. The cabin was fully stocked with all the comforts of home. I was able to cook full meals for my family each night in the spacious kitchen and had the option to grill. The lake is quiet and peaceful with many avian sightings. By far the most exciting view was watching a Kingfisher dive near the dock for his freshwater snacks. The kids enjoyed kayaking and fishing around the lake catching bass and pickerel. The fire place was also a nice end to cool the evenings. Sherry, the property owner was kind and easy to communicate with. She notified us when the cabin was ready and ensured an easy entry. We couldn't have asked for more and will certainly return for another stay.

The location was astonisching with a stunning view over the lake. The cabin was cozy, cleaned up and offered a lot of privacy. It is near Baxter State Park and Gulf Hagas. The cabin and its location was truly beyond our expactations.
A good place to relax and perfect place to return to after a nice outdoorday.

This cabin was beautifully decorated and very clean. Private and wonderfully quiet. Coffee at sunrise on the dock or deck listening to the loons. Kayaking and fishing everyday. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin.

This is our second year staying at this property. It is perfect for to be right on the lake where we can have interesting kayaking, take long swims, and birdwatch/naturewatch. We bring our own kayaks and spend time on the water paddling and nature watching. This year the loons, sand hill cranes, beavers, and eagles appeared. Given the location we could also explore north to the Penobscot River and beyond. The home is comfortable, the host flexible and responsive so it works out very well for us.

We went to hike and, instead, enjoyed the lake. Loved kayaking, floating & swimming. The deck provided a comfortable way to watch the day go by, read & play games. Truly relaxing 💗

Nice little lakeside cabin. Well appointed, clean and a bit out of the way on a beautiful spot for admiring the loons each morning. My father, brother, and I stayed here for hiking access to Mt. Katahdin and surrounding trails (45 minute drive) and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Property is well maintained, had all the comforts of home and made for a perfect spot to have low-key family time away from the distractions of our daily lives. If you like the quiet and don't mind being distant from restaurants/bars, this is a great location for relaxation, burgers on a grill, and a good book or kayaking in the lake.

This property is amazing! The cabin is spacious and has everything you need. The views are magnificent. The location is hidden away but very peaceful. The owner is always available to answer any questions in a prompt manner. While the drive on the road to the cabin isn’t for the faint of heart, it is very much worth it! Will definitely go again!

It was a great time even with the lack of snow. Many fires by the fire pit outside and stayed local. Very relaxing. We all loved the cabin with everything you could need. We will be back.

This house was perfect for our needs. We're a group of kayak fishermen and wanted to spend a long weekend on Ebeemee Lake. Although it is a gas motor lake, most were very courteous to the kayakers. The fishing was good for the time of year. Smallmouth and Largemouth bass caught within 100ft of the dock at the house. The area is perfect and the property offers everything you need. I'd highly recommend this rental to anyone looking to spend time in the area.

A spacious cabin very clean and well equipped, with a beautiful view of a lake, my wife and I were there to celebrate our 6th anniversary and loved our stay, unfortunately we did not see any wild animals but had the company of some blue jays and squirrels. We will definitely return. The host was very kind and attentive at all times.

We stayed here for a girls Katahdin hiking trip. The Squirrels Nest was just perfect! So cozy and peaceful and clean. It had everything we needed to be comfortable. This home had all the amenities that made staying here such a treat! It was so relaxing watching/listening to the Loons in the lake after our hike. Such a beautiful spot! The host was wonderful to work with and very responsive. Highly recommend. We will be back for sure!

This was a great camp with waterfront access to the pond. We came in late summer to enjoy nature and the water. We spent most of the time sitting by the lake or in the lake.
The camp is on a network of ponds with beautiful view of marsh, not other cabins. Ebeemee Lake is a few ponds connected to each other, so as we brought our kayaks, we could go for a few miles. Birdwatching and nature watching was also fun with eagles, loons, warblers, beaver, muskrat, frogs, and turtles.
The cabin appears to have been recently remodeled and was very clean, in great condition, and full of all amenities for a longer stay: lots of towels, washer/dryer, cooking equipment, and supplies. The owner made it easy to relax with features that made life easier.
Close to trails and on the way to Baxter State Park. We felt out in the woods and away from tourists. We found a good restaurant in Milo, Bissell Brothers/3 Rivers, also a good brewery.

Staying at Sherry's place was exactly the mental and physical break that I needed. We had spent so many hours on the road getting to know Maine, this was our first "breather". I found the property to be very relaxing. If you love the outdoors, don't mind being slightly remote (just bring the food necessities that you desire for the stay to minimize driving) but with friendly neighbors, this is the place for you. I enjoyed just watching the squirrels, chipmunks and listening to the frogs and loons. No moose observed on this trip but I do understand that they can't stand the summer heat. We hope to come back for a visit sometime. Thank you Sherry and family!!!

This cabin rental is spacious and very user-friendly. There's plenty of space to spread out and relax. The front porch is a great place for early morning coffee where you can see plenty of wildlife passing by. We brought our own boat and kayaks and spent lots of time on Ebeemee Lake. (There's also a few kayaks in the garage) We cooked over the fire, on the grill, and in the kitchen and made good use of the game shelf. We look forward to staying here again in the future. The owners have worked hard to make it a homey and inviting place to stay and it shows. Thank-you for making your cabin available to us.

Couldn’t Have Been Happier
We had a wonderful time at this lake house. It’s a very quiet and relaxing environment. The house is well stocked with everything you’d need and laid out in a way that gives everyone enough space and privacy. The lake is perfect for a family to swim, kayak, or go out on a boat for a scenic view of Ebeemee Mountain. Ebeemee lake is full of pickerel and bass. Perfect for a fun filled day of family fishing. The owner is extremely easy to talk to, helpful, and knowledgeable about the property and surrounding landscape. I would most definitely book this location again for future getaways.
