Spacious and beautiful 1700 sq ft studio apartment with private and completely separate entrance on the pool level. Very peaceful location and close to shopping, restaurants, a multitude of furniture stores and LRU is 9 minutes away.
The Suite has a fully stocked kitchen and the décor is eclectic with global inspirations. Enjoy the gas fire pit in the cooler months and pool during May-Sept. It's available from 8am - 11 pm.
Our neighborhood is great for taking a morning or evening stroll.
We are about an hour from Asheville, Charlotte, or Boone.

This basement apartment was abolutely perfect for our small group for a four day trip to Hickory while our granddaughters sweated it out at Lenoir-Rhyne University's soccer camp. From being able to feed them breakfast at the kitchen bar to having the ability to pack lunches for them in the kitchen, we made use of all the offerings we couldn't have gotten in a hotel. The girls made it through soccer camp each day to enjoy a cool-off in the beautiful pool and then showered in the deluxe shower here. The two girls especially liked the toiletries provided in the bathroom. Check in was so easy, and except for the weirdly confusing street numbering throughout Hickory, the country setting was peaceful and relaxing. We are thoroughly sold on this location for a return visit.

This beautiful property was perfect for what we needed. Our son had a soccer tournament in Hickory with spaced out game times, rescheduled games due to weather, etc. The Blue Door Guesthouse was our comfortable oasis to relax and enjoy family time. The pool was great, even in May! The hosts are top knotch. Highly recommend!

My sisters and I attended a wedding in the area and pick this place to stay. Looked great in the listings and surpassed our expectations. House was totally equipped with everything you could imagine. Beds were marvelous. Kitchen was super- we did prepare breakfast every morning, sometimes other meals as well. Location was wonderful. Wish we would have been there during summer as the outdoor pool looks extremely inviting for summer temperatures. Beautiful Cardinals ate at the birdfeeder every morning! Such fun. Big thanks to our wonderful hosts. Would definitely reccomend this property.

We loved everything about our stay here. The place was even more beautiful than the pictures. It was decorated with wonderful attention to color, and it was perfectly clean. The kitchen was lovely and easy to use (and thoughtfully stocked with plates, silverware, cooking utensils, paper towels, etc. We had no issues during our stay, but the hosts were great. They were friendly and helpful, and they responded to our messages quickly. My wife and I are already planning to return. We couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. Thank you!

I have so much to say but I’ll try to condense it as much as possible. First of everything is super clean. The pool was perfect and the beds were super comfy. Family and I keep our home super cold so it worked out great. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. Simba was a nice surprise as well, the kids loved him!

Outstanding decor inside all amenities included and a serene outdoor space with lovely tropical plants and plenty of choices for spending your time reading poolside or enjoying your coffee listening to the birds. The owners thought of everything. One of the best VRBO i have stayed at in 15 years.

We traveled to Hickory North Carolina for a family wedding and choose this home for our stay. The rental home is all downstair so easy access. The home itself is well stocked very clean and decorated beautifully. The property grounds are well manicured and with a crystal clear pool. Although the weather was a little chilly my granddaughter enjoyed a swim. One suggestion to the owners: (because I am height challenged and so may be others) please consider adding Bed Step with safety grippers to get in the high set beds.

We stayed at the Blue Door Guesthouse this weekend as we celebrated the life of my father. The house is beautifully appointed, and the entire space is designed for gathering. We were very comfortable and communication with the hosts was very quick. I would not hesitate to stay here again the next time I am n the area.

A lovely place for relaxing with family or friends. Immaculate with interesting thematic decor. It was too cool for the pool but we hope to return when we can fully enjoy the pool area. A great place to unwind and make memories. The Christmas tree helped make our holiday visit special!

Property was quite beautiful and private. Surrounded by trees. The yard was very well done with a fire pit hang out area, pool and shaded and sunny areas to lounge. They had hammocks and nice patio fir inure. Inside the place was immaculate and very well designed.rooms were spacious with walk-in closet’s and really nice showers in the bathrooms. Tiled kitchen was so pretty with everything that you need.

My friend and I just wanted to get out town for a few days. We rented it mainly for the pool. Everything was beautiful. I actually thought it was nicer than the pictures. Greg and Linda were johnny on the spot with our questions. Would highly recommend!

This place is gorgeous!! You are surrounded by nature. The huge pool is located in the back of the home so it’s very private. There’s a huge palm tree and the landscaping is perfect. My son enjoyed the hammock, and especially the pool. We had a great dinner in downtown. It was such a nice getaway. We will be back! Thank you!

We were so fortunate to find this gem of a property. While our 3rd person was unable to make it, the bedroom/bathrooms are separated with a bath on each side of the suite. The center common area is perfect for remote working, or for planning day trips on your Ipad or laptop. From the floor plan to the contents of the kitchen, this space has everything one would need. It was such a pleasant stay and we felt right at home! The neighborhood is quiet, private, and secluded but close enough to get to the places you may want to tour in the area. Unfortunately, we were not there during a warm spell to use the pool and hope to return. Linda and Greg were gracious hosts and thanks for offering this property! Don't hesitate to book this property!!

Linda and Greg have created a beautiful and relaxing space that feel like home as soon as you walk in the door. The colors are warm and inviting and every bit of artwork is carefully chosen to compliment the other pieces in the apartment. The check in/check out process was easy and efficient. Some VRBO properties require that the guests do various chores before check out. This is not the case at Blue Door Guesthouse, and was very much appreciated. Every question I had was answered very quickly. The kitchen was well stocked with high quality tools and amenities. The beds were comfortable, towels soft and fluffy, living room furniture designed for relaxing and outdoor spaces were also wonderfully inviting. This is hands down the best VRBO property I have ever stayed in. If you find yourself in the Hickory NC area, run, don’t walk to The Blue Door Guesthouse!
