Newly Remodeled 4-Bedroom 3-Bath Home Is Right On The Beach, Waiting For You
This lake house has all the comforts of home, plus every amenity you want for a fantastic vacation. Located in beautiful Michigan City (just 65 miles from Chicago and 35 miles from South Bend) this home is perfect for summer vacations, weekend winery tours, and Notre Dame sports weekends. Only one house separates this home from one of Lake Michigan's most gorgeous beaches so you can enjoy the luxury of beach front living. In addition to the beach, you're also in very close proximity to Washington Park, Washington Park Zoo, Blue Chip Casino, Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets and everything the area has to offer.
The home was completely remodeled in 2019. It features a very large master bedroom with a king bed, two quality bedrooms with queen beds, as well as a fourth bedroom with 3-4 single beds for little ones or smaller singles. Three FULL bathrooms are provided for ultimate convenience during your stay. There's a fully equipped kitchen, with an open living and dining area. Vintage stained glass windows contribute to the hip cottage atmosphere. Over 500 square feet of patio space in the private backyard, with a large fire pit, limestone game court and plenty of seating gives you tons of space for dining and relaxing. The house also has an outdoor shower for rinsing after a long day at the beach!
During peak summer months the property is rented on a weekly basis, generally Friday-to-Friday. We look forward to seeing you at Dune Fine!

The house was great! Very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The house came stocked with everything we needed and was very close to the beach. We had 3 adults and 4 kids (ages 2 through 6) during our stay, and everyone was comfortable and happy. We would definitely stay here again!

The property was a perfect fit very clean with a super location. Very easy beach access with a short walk just over a beautiful dune. Scott was very helpful and easy to access with any concerns. I highly recommend this property, and our family will be renting it again

This house and location are amazing. Scott is a very responsive and helpful host. The amenities are great, large backyard, firepit, grill, and outdoor dining make the experience that much better. The house is very clean with lots of room for everyone to enjoy themselves.

Seven adults, ages from 32 to 92. Mom and Dad did fine on the first floor, but couldn't make the hike (really only about a block but up and down) to the beach. We resolved that by visiting Washington Park just a few blocks away. Covered picnic tables or park your chair on the sand. Worked out great for them.
Bedrooms all worked out OK too. One queen bedroom on the first floor is pretty small, the other has a full dresser and slightly larger. Master bed/bath is upstairs and very roomy. My sister and niece slept in the room with the three twins which had its own bathroom-perfect!
We didn't need the washer/dryer much except to do towels before we left but it was nice to have it available.
Dining room table seats six people comfortably, and when we needed more room, we at outside. Four cushioned chairs under a nice shade tree, and a umbrella table for another six.
Kitchen served our purpose, and three nights of our stay were homemade dinners. Plenty of pots, pans, couple skillets need replacement but utensils for everything you could imagine! AC worked fine and plenty of natural light which is important to a few of us. Storage box outside had some fun beach items and sand chairs.
We picked up some wood at Al's Supermarket about 10 minutes away and made a nice fire on our last night there.
Our favorits restaurants nearby-Polish Peasant, Brewery Lodge and Dune Billie's. Great pie!

We've stayed at this property three years in a row and plan to come back again next year. It's clean, has an excellent location, and has plenty of space for the family and guests. Scott is always great to with with as well, so it makes this an easy choice for us. We love the outdoor shower for getting sand off, and the water heater keeps up even if all three showers inside are going. We really enjoy Dune Fine!

House is great for families/groups. Plenty of space to spread out in the living spaces and upstairs bedrooms.
An issue is this property is listed as 'No Pets Allowed Property'. We chose this rental for this reason; as members in the group have severe allergies. Upon arrival, it was clear animals have been inside the home. Allergic reactions started. With a quick cleaning of a lint roller on furniture, rugs, blankets; animal hair was collected.
We contacted the owners to inform them. The response " we do not allow pets in our rentals. We also always follow any stay with a deep cleaning. We are hopeful your group is comfortable and has a great rest of your stay." No offer to re-clean, provide new linens or blankets or monetary reimbursement for the poor deep cleaning/un-acknowledged allowance of pets.
Pros:
Plenty of space. 2 refrigerators. Next to beach path (use the public path out front door). Great internet. Great smart TV/firestick. Large Patio/Fire pit (you provide firewood from a nearby store). Washer and Dryer on main floor (not basement). Beach toy bin was stocked. Coffee supplies stocked.
Cons:
Not Pet-Free. No shades/blinds on first floor common areas. House is across the street from the public parking lot & public restrooms; this was not an issue for our stay, but guests should know of the people traffic/car traffic immediately in front of the home (didn't use front door). If neighbors have too many cars (which they did), you can get parked in.

This vacation home was perfect for our family group. The beach was steps away and it was enjoyed by all. The home itself was just lovely and we were all very comfortable. Scott was so accommodating and a great communicator. Things could not have gone any smoother!

The house was perfect for our family. Just over the dune is the water! Beds comfy, air conditioner worked great, even upstairs! Nice to have three bathrooms. Kitchen had everything we needed. Hosts are wonderful. Highly recommend if looking to stay in the area. We hope to return soon.

We had an awesome stay at this residence in Michigan city. The property was located just off the beach, as advertised. Everything was clean and well-maintained and communication was prompt and clear. We had no issues with securing the property in our coming and going.
The kitchen was very well stocked with cookware and dishes. We actually had to store a lot of our non-perishables on the counter, because the drawers were full. There was a small Dyson vacuum, available to help keep the sand at minimum. The washer and dryer worked well, although the dryer was quite loud, and we found that the baby had a harder time sleeping with it running.
There was a full stash of games which we put to use on a couple of rainy days. Of the ones we played, none of them were missing pieces. Our children were very pleased with the beach toys and equipment that were provided.
Really, the only major downside we encountered was that the mattress on the king bed wasn’t very comfortable. On our 3rd night there, we went to Walmart and got a thick mattress topper, which significantly improved our sleep.
There was also a book full of restaurants, entertainment, venues, etc. of what was available locally. We have used Vrbo properties several times and this is the first time we encountered such a comprehensive book. We really appreciated it!

This house is amazing; spacious, clean, decorated nicely, and the patio was huge; bring some firewood! The neighborhood has an old school beach community feel; it was easy to imagine we were on the east coast in Virginia Beach. The beach is just over the dune outside the house and it was lovely; very soft sand! Lots of beds and bathrooms; plenty of room for the family/friends! I highly recommend this property. Thank you!

PERFECT house for our wedding weekend!
My new husband and I booked this house as a place to get ready for our wedding and to have a place to ourselves afterwards. The upstairs was perfect for my bridesmaids and I to have a little slumber party the night before the wedding (but it would also be perfect for a family with children!). The house was spacious enough for my husband to get ready downstairs without ever running in to me! There were two beautiful bedrooms and a bathroom for him to spread out in.
First of all, both the exterior and interior were BEAUTIFUL! The house was clearly historic, with a lot of old charm and original touches, but expertly rehabbed and modernized. It smelled clean and comforting when we walked in. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the items we needed for cooking and making coffee, the appliances were excellent, and I especially appreciated the filtered water on the fridge door!
The house is STEPS from the beach and has a lovely backyard for grilling and relaxing. I absolutely want to come back every year (hopefully with kids)!!
One other quick note, I REALLY appreciated the nice hand soap and all the little amenities (a speaker, board games and books, sunscreen and beach towels, laundry detergent and dish soap...I could go on and on). We didn't have a single item that we couldn't find already on hand. It was the best rental I have ever stayed in!

Great time spent with my family at this charming cottage steps away from beach access. More than enough room for my family of 5. We enjoyed morning coffee on the back patio and swimming in Lake Michigan in the afternoon. The property was clean and well equipped with everything you need to feel at home. The owners were very responsive to questions and excellent hosts. There’s plenty of fun things to do in the surrounding area. We enjoyed blue berry picking a few miles away and checking out the local restaurants and shops as well.

The house is clean, well-appointed, and nicely insulated (meaning that the kids could get a restful sleep without being disturbed by outside noises, conversations by the fire, fireworks, etc -- an unexpected and welcome benefit). Direct access to the beach is enormously freeing... no worries about planning beach time, no worries about parking loading/unloading the car. The house is also within walking distance to a couple of good restaurants, park, and zoo. Communication with the owner was exceptional and very cordial. We had a very pleasant stay. It felt like a home away from home.

Perfect Long Weekend
This property was exactly as it is listed and was perfect for our family of three couples and a toddler and 3 year old. The beach on Lake Michigan was beautiful! The fresh water was a great way to introduce the kids to the beach and it was an easy walk. We also enjoyed the near by parks. The backyard with grill, fire pit and place for the kids it play kept us all entertained. This is a beautiful home to stay in in Michigan City!

I actually preferred that the public beach walkway was closed. It made the beach area empty. The weather and water was perfect. On the first day it was really wavy. The next day until the end of the week it was as calm as a kitten. The house was amazing. Clean, plenty of space to sprawl out. The kid's bedroom was nicely done and my kids were excited to sleep in their own room. All the beds were comfortable. Fully stocked kitchen. The outdoor sitting area was beautiful with plenty of seating and nice big outdoor table where we ate all our dinners. The fire pit was great and the grill area was good. Owners were ver receptive to text or email. They even had beach towels, beach chairs, and beach toys for the kids to use. The only thing I would change are the pillows. They were a little soft for my taste. But the beds were super comfortable and I slept like a baby.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book this place again without hesitation.
