About this house rental
Hawaii STVR Reg. Number: STRV-19-348723
Hawaii NUCR Number: NUC-19-389
Come relax in our two-bedroom, two-bath house with a large ocean view lanai. The house is on a quiet street that runs along the ocean and has two parks within easy walking distance on the coast. You will often find there are more walkers than cars passing below our lanai. The house is very nice, offers views of the ocean from nearly every room, and the living room features Island style furniture. The master bedroom has a very comfortable king size bed with a large walk-in shower. The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything you will need to prepare the meals which you will likely enjoy while sitting on the lanai.
There aren't that many volcanoes in the world, and how many of them can you walk on? Speaking of which, the new East Rift Zone eruption has paused and all is quiet. But have no worries if the lava begins flowing again as our home is in a safe location with some of the best air on all of the Islands thanks to the trade winds. Hawaii National Park will be reopened soon – an easy one hour drive from our doorstep.
Pahoa with its mix of cowboy and Victorian character with wooden sidewalks is close by and has some of the best small restaurants in East Hawaii. The Maku’u Farmers Market on Sundays is close to our home and continues to thrive. While you are there you can pick up some produce or buy gifts for family and friends back home. Try some Lava Candy, local honey, and lilikoi jam.
Hilo has old-Hawaii storefronts and offers many attractions including swimming and snorkeling at safe beaches. It has a large Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Hilo has many cultural events (such as the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival and the Big Island Hawaiian Music Festival). If you have time you should check out the free Mokupapapa Discovery Center for Hawaii’s Remote Coral Reefs which is located in downtown Hilo.
There is much more to see and explore in East Hawaii — or you can just sit on the lanai, listen to the birds, watch the waves, and look for whales.

Watching the sunrise over the ocean is amazing.

We really enjoyed our stay at the location. The house is very well equipped and the owner was very responsive. We also enjoyed time with Sweet Pea the cat on the lanai. We met some of the neighbors and spent time with them. It is well located to explore the Hilo side of the island. We would strongly recommend the property to anyone.

The pictures do not do this place justice. It is beautiful inside and the view is awesome. Kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook or even bake. Even though the weather was mostly showers or rain everyday, it was perfect lying out on the covered lanai. The resident kitty,Sweet Pea, was such a love.
Much Mahalo Deb!!

My daughter and I stayed here for a week and had a wonderful time! The house is fully stocked with everything you need. The view of the ocean from the deck is stunning. We fell in love with the outdoor resident kitty, Sweet Pea. We looked forward to her daily visits and cuddles. Thank you Debbie for sharing your happy place with us.

This property is well kept, spacious, and mostly private. The ocean views are amazing! It was rainy when we were there, so we did not spend a lot of time out by the ocean, but the surf was high and the waves raging. Would recommend if wanting to spend time at Volcano National Park or Hilo area.

The day we left it rained 4 inches an hour which was pretty cool! Great place and had a wonderful stay.
We'll do it again!

Lovely, spacious home with a very convenient kitchen. Communication with the hosts was excellent. Tree frogs sing loudly at night--we loved it. The pool looked lovely, but as it was rainy, we didn't get to enjoy it. Small downsides: we were there during a rare "Kona low". The humidity was very high, and as the house lacks an air conditioner, it was not comfortable for several hours through the night, especially because we had to keep the windows closed (understandably, so the rain wouldn't come in!). Though we were there in the "off season", we found it took a bit longer than we expected to get to Volcanoes Park (which we did twice during the 3 days we were there). Since we were on vacation, and not so much on a schedule, it ended up being ok. Oh, and we enjoyed access to ocean overlooks!!! Thanks for a lovely stay!

Everything was better than advertised. The home was beautiful, comfortable and very well equipped. Our host was available and prompt to answer questions. The crashing waves during high surf days were spectacular! We even found the petroglyph across the street. We will stay here again for sure!

Great place to relax and calm down. Loved the resident cat, who was tame and loved attention. Access to large grocery stores within 10 to 15 minutes.

This house is very nice. Lots of space and huge lanai, which is where we spent most of our time. The view of the ocean was just as pictured and you can hear it from the lanai.

We were celebrating 30th and 50th anniversaries, and the 4 of us loved this home! The view of the ocean was amazing, the house was incredibly well-equipped with almost anything you could need in the kitchen, including spices, furniture was comfortable, lanai was huge and the neighborhood is quiet. Close enough to many amazing Big Island sights - Kilauea erupted while we were there! We would stay again in a second, and the price couldn't be beat!

Debbie:
Thank you for the rental of your property, the location is wonderful and quite. The property is well suited for a Hilo get away, it is very well supplied for meal preparation and it is very relaxing to sit on the lanai while viewing the ocean and feeling the breeze, raining or not.

The house has a huge lanai where we spent hours and hours. You can see the ocean through the trees across the street. And of course, you can hear it. Awesome! Inside the house, there was everything you can possibly need. Tons of kitchen gadgets and appliances, if you are going to cook your meals. Great laundry room. Nice towels and bedding. Comfy bed. We had a great 2 weeks here!

My husband and I relaxed and rested as we acclimated to the time change. The ocean is across the street and close enough to hear the waves.
Our hostess warned us about an upcoming tropical depression and made suggestions on how to prepare. We recommend Deb and her lovely house.
Sweet Pea, her outside cat, is an added bonus.

This home has everything you need, very well equipped. We cooked many meals at home and the kitchen is stocked with all the essentials and more. Very clean. We enjoyed sunrise coffee daily from the lanai. Close to all of the sites. Response from the owner was excellent. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home!

This was perfect for us - 4 people (2 couples). House has everything you need and the Lanai with a view is awesome. Great to walk around and enjoy the neighborhood. Loved the whole area - close to volcano park, Hilo, Pahoa etc. We hated leaving so much, we booked it again for next year!

This 2 bd 2 bath house was perfect for me and my family. Debbie the owner was readily available to communicate before during and after my booking. The house had everything we needed including a few beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear and even umbrellas since Hilo gets A LOT of rain. It was a great stay. Thank you Debbie for opening up your up to us. Cheers!

A very welcoming home, with great open spaces and nice decor. The location was perfect for us as we explored the coast to the south and north. Great view of the ocean, quiet, and with the sound of the birds and frogs...very relaxing sitting out on the lanai!

I booked this house for my friends (2 couples), though we spent the evenings together. Debbie's house is amazing! Spacious, nicely decorated, and well equipped. My friends cooked every day, and they had everything in the kitchen they needed. During our Hawaiian island hopping trip this place was far the best. Debbie is super nice, and the communication was perfect from the very beginning.

We absolutely loved staying here. The house was beautiful and clean in a very peaceful setting. If I ever get back to the big island this will definitely be my first choice to stay. It was well stocked and very comfortable. Just like anywhere else on the island the Koki frogs are a little loud at night but a pair of earplugs takes care of the sound.

Loved staying here and waking up to the sound of waves. Owner was quick to respond when we had questions. This was the perfect place for a week long vacation with my bestie.

Everything about this property was perfect for us. The quiet location, the cleanliness of the house, the excellent communication from the host, the beautiful ocean view. Close enough to Pahoa to make a quick run to the store yet far enough that we didn't worry about any hustle or bustle. Even felt our 1st earthquake last night. Would definitely stay at this property again.

From the time we entered the house it felt comfortable. Two of us have been to Island of Hawaii numerous times. We chose this location to spend more time on this part of the island. Good location for this. Still short drive to the volcano. Would consider coming back to this house should we stay in this area again.
Thanks for the good time.

Everything was perfect from beginning to end plus we had an added bonus of Kitty visits and pantry of condiments and delights including bottled water. The house was immaculate, the beds were so comfortable, all was as advertised but even more. Instructions for what to do and everywhere we could possibly go. We went from the beaches of the Big Island to the Volcano's. I would recommend this to anyone who could understand the value of the history and geography the Big Island. From booking to check out this was a perfect and reasonable and beautiful house with a lovely porch and a fantastic view of the Ocean!

This was a perfect, well kept little home in a very quiet, beautiful neighborhood. Very well kept. And the owners were responsive.

Off the beaten path in a quaint rural neighborhood! Listen to the birds and the crash of the waves! Great patio and the house has all the amenities! Refreshing to get away from the hub bub, but still close enough to access any of the island’s sights and sounds! Hope to return. Definitely recommend!

Well I am so glad we stayed on this side of the island. The Kona side is no where near as nice as this. Debs home is wonderful! The cooling breeze at night allows for a comfortable sleep with the windows open. The open concept is really nice and the view of the ocean great, especially from the lanai. The kitchen is fully equipped unlike so many places we have stayed. Our communication with Deb was good with her responding with in hours of us messaging her. All the information we needed to get here and get in was well documented, my only issue was that we arrived at night and the gps had us stop one house before, but that was quickly resolved. Thank you Deb we would love to return some day and would recommend your home to others.

This home is in a perfect location to explore the east side of the island. Easy drive to Hilo or Volcanoes National Park. Home is spotless and comfortable with all the amenities needed for a pleasant stay. Beautiful ocean view from the front deck great for morning coffee or an evening cocktail. We would definitely stay here again if visiting the area.

The property is amazing. The managers are amazing. Had everything we needed, snorkel gear, towels, beach chairs, and every kitchen tool you would ever need. If I ever go to the big island again I’m staying here!

My husband and I stayed in the house for a week while taking diving courses in town. The commute back and forth to Hilo was a little tough (30-45 mins) but it was well worth not hearing any airplanes or traffic noise for an entire week! The house was well equipped with everything that we needed for our stay and the property manager was quick to respond with answers to our questions.
Hopefully we have the opportunity to revisit this one soon!

This home was perfect for the 3 of us. We walked a short distance to the ocean everyday. Then after seeing the sites we would sit on the lanai and take it all in, ocean breeze, beautiful birds singing, wild chickens roaming around and the stars at night. I highly recommend Hilo bay cafe (make reservations) for the best pot pie ever, beautiful view also. Kulas for shave ice, the best I have ever had with fresh fruit juice mmm-mmm. Everyone in paradise park was so friendly saying hello on their walks. we felt like we were in the middle of the jungle. she even has snorkeling supplies, ice chests. everything was just perfect for us. we would stay there again!!

This was a wonderful place to stay. Very peaceful. Breathtaking view from the house. It is Hawaii so no A/C but fans are sufficient when you open the windows. It is a ways out from town but that’s what I loved the most. Island vibes. The owner is great.

The property was as advertised. Great access to Hilo and an acceptable drive to Volcano National Park. Without having the experience with them, it would have been nice to know about the water catchment system prior to booking in order to do some research but it wouldn't have changed our minds about staying here. If we were to stay in this area again this property would be high on our list. Thanks for making it available!
