About this house rental
Welcome! We are thrilled to open our hearts and family home to you! (STR permit 200169).
Whether you're coming to Lake Placid to seek adventure on the slopes, bag some 46ers, explore the lakes, rivers and gorges, train on the Ironman course, race IMLP, skate on historic ice, delve into our Olympic history and watch current athletes, fly down our iconic toboggan chute across a frozen Mirror Lake, or just want to relax by the fire and experience the best sleep of your life from the mountain air and our cozy beds, we hope you'll stay in our modernized, historic home, steps from Mirror Lake and all the best bars, restaurants and shops on Main Street. That might be the longest sentence I've ever strung together, but it's justified. This is THE place to bring the whole fam for action-packed experiences year round, in the shadows of champions from from past and present.
You'll find our home at the top of the hill just behind the movie theater in the center of town. You can practically smell the homemade turnovers and scones at Bluesberry Bakery from our front porch.
Mirror Lake is just down the hill. The Olympic Center and Olympic Oval are within walking distance. The Olympic Ski Jumping Complex and Lake Placid Horse Show Grounds are a 5 minute drive (or very short run/ride). Whiteface Ski Resort is a 15 minute drive. Whiteface Peak is visible from our front porch and all the bedrooms in the front of the house. Once you see that magical, ever-changing view, you might never leave! Which is totally OK, as long as you renew your rental contract.
We have plenty of space for everyone in your crew — 5 bedrooms, 3 full baths, game room with foosball and darts, playroom with air hockey, knee hockey and lots of toys, games and books, basement with separate entry for protected storage for all your gear, an enclosed back patio with a salt water hot tub and 5 off-street parking spaces.
We have flatscreens in all of the bedroom rooms, hi-speed WiFi throughout the house and Fire Sticks for all your streaming needs. But we hope you'll spend most of your time outside, exploring everything the Adirondacks have to offer. While we're famous for winter sports, the warmer months offer equally epic adventures.
Each floor of our home has its own full bath with shower, vanity, towels, hairdryer and bath products. Life's too short for drama or cheap shampoo.
The main floor features a spacious dining room, gourmet kitchen with brand new appliances and everything you could hope to have for cooking and entertaining (fully stocked by someone who's incredibly picky about the things in her kitchen), spacious living room with stone fireplace, TV and enough seating for your entire group, game room with darts, foosball and a bar with a popcorn maker, full bath, laundry room, newly constructed bedroom and access to the bike/gear room in the basement.
The enclosed back patio is the perfect, private oasis. It features a propane grill, large dining table and additional outdoor seating, and salt water hot tub. We encourage you to eat every meal possible out on the deck. (Just don't eat or drink in the hot tub, please.)
Our covered front porch is the perfect spot for sipping drinks while watching the sunset, or witnessing a summer storm roll over the peaks. If you have kids or are the kind of people who never travel without a spikeball set, you've hit the rental property jackpot — there's a spacious public park and playground directly across from our house with one of the best sledding hills in town. It's easy to keep an eye on your kids playing over there while enjoying those aforementioned drinks from the front steps — one of the many reasons we knew we had to own this home.
The second floor features 4 bedrooms and 1 full bath. Each bedroom has a flatscreen TV, WiFi and ridiculously soft hotel linens.
WHITEFACE: King Bed
TIPS UP: 2 Double Beds
SNOWSHOE: 1 Queen, 1 Double
CASCADE: King Bed
The third floor features another full bath and a playroom, equipped with air hockey, knee hockey, Thomas the Train and his many, many friends, books, toys, games and a flat screen TV — just in case Thomas loses his appeal. To add to the family friendliness of our home, we offer a pack-and-play travel crib, infant tub, high chair and dishes for kids.
The ground floor entry to the basement offers secure, dry, temperature-controlled storage for all your bikes, skis, boots, wetsuits and assorted gear, as well as a new boot/gear dryer.
Foam roller, yoga mat, resistance bands, jump rope and wiffle ball bats are located in the front hall closet.
Private, off-street parking for 5 cars is available in front of the house.
We love pets and we bet yours is adorbs, but we'll have to settle for seeing them on Instagram and not in our home.
Similarly, we have an aversion to tobacco/smoking and large groups looking to party. Sorry, brah. This is a family home. If you're hosting a bachelor or bachelorette party, we wish you all the best, but we are not the property for you.
Nature has the power to change you and whomever you come here with — we hope you'll let it! Stay with us, and fully experience everything the Adirondacks have to offer. Dare to do something different! We can't wait to hear about all of your adventures.

The home was lovely, just as expected. The rooms were spacious and clean. Parking was great. The Hosts were very helpful and provided great pre-trip information on places to go and where to eat. We spent a little too much time at the ice cream shop, the breakfast place and bakery in town, but all our walking helped with that. My grandson especially liked the 3rd floor game room that we used for his crib. Thomas the Tank Engine and all the tracks and building became a morning routine for us. We spent hours of quiet time building the tracks and playing before everyone else was awake. The park across the street was great for the little guy and the walk to town was easy even with the stroller. I wish the weather had been better the deck was very nice but mostly unused because of the rain.

Fabulous location with an enormous house close to Main Street and Mirror lake. We were a group of 11 and stayed for 4 nights. House was great and would highly recommend. Thanks Julie for making the stay so pleasant.

Our group of 8 rugby players really enjoyed the space, lots of options to either tuck away or gather all together. Really loved the proximity to the public beach on Mirror Lake, which we used daily. You're right across the street from a kids' playground and big grass lot - perfect for whiffle ball games!

It was our first visit to Lake Placid and we loved our weekend despite the rain.
The comfort of the house, the space (12 people) and the games available allowed us to have a great time with friends.
A very welcoming and warm house!

This home is absolutely phenomenal! It was the perfect place to make lifelong memories with members of our Florida family who travels thousands of miles to experience the solar eclipse.
Julie was available and accommodating with any and all questions we had. We are so grateful for them sharing their lovely home with us. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wonderful stay in a great location. Walk to everything in town. Central location.
Owners were awesome. We got in late on the first night and they answered our texts about getting into the property at 1:30 in the morning.
Hoping to come back next year.

The house was spacious with a long list of desirable amenities for a larger group. Julie, the host, was great at communicating throughout our stay. The location was a quick uphill walk from Main Street but very accessible to all Lake Placid has to offer. Overall, a great experience and would highly recommend.

We gathered as a family coming from Eastern Canada and Northeastern USA. It was a perfect setting for our gathering. The home had all of the amenities we were looking for in a home for us all. It met the needs of everyone including those of a teenager and a toddler. Lots of sleeping space (bonus that there was a pack n play and mattress that we didn't have to bring with us), playroom, games room, hot tub, fireplace and great cooking kitchen. Added bonus was that it was decorated for Xmas with a Xmas tree. We loved that surprise bonus. Made it so festive for our gathering. We cooked in and ate out in a few wonderful spots in town. Wonderful proximity to the main street with restaurants and shops. Would definitely consider renting this property again in the future for another family gathering or visit to LP with other friends/families. Thank you Josh and Julie!

Unfortunately, we didn’t have the best weather to enjoy the great outdoors, but this place allowed us to still have fun with a large group indoors. The hot tub, game room, large dining table, and living room with woodburning fireplace served as gathering spots at home while the rain kept coming down outside! We also appreciated the three full baths and laundry to dry our wet clothes! Thank you!

Amazing location! We walked everywhere and the hot tub was a huge plus!

The house is wonderful! The beds were very comfortable and there was a lot of space for all the guests. Easy walk to town and the walk around Mirror Lake was very pretty. Julie was great to communicate with and really went out of her way to help me locate a sitter for one of the wedding guests whose sitter canceled. Overall I would highly recommend this place for a family gathering.

We had a great weekend in this beautiful home! Comfortably slept 12 of us and we enjoyed all the living space and hot tub. Enjoyed cooking in the kitchen with everything you need and nice appliances! The walk to downtown was doable, but it is very hilly, just a warning as some of our guests had a hard time with that.

The host was incredibly kind and thoughtful. We can't say enough good things about our visit. Thank you for helping me create cherished memories with friends and family!

Our family had an amazing stay here with plenty of room to spread out in the house during Ironman week. The hot tub was perfect to relax in before and after our race. Julie and Josh were amazing hosts with thoughtful touches around the house during our stay. Communication was perfect during the stay, and the one issue we had with thw door lock was solved immediately, making our stay that much easier. Would stay here again with our family anytime!

We had a terrific trip to Lake Placid, and Julie is just a wonderful host! Communication pre-check in and throughout the trip was seamless. She included lots of information not only about the house, but about activities to do around Lake Placid tailored to the ages of the kids in our group. She was responsive immediately with any questions we had. The house is spotless, thoughtfully decorated, and had everything we could have needed. Its location is perfect, and we easily walked into town every day. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a lovely time at Julies property. It was just as the photos showed...actually better!
Beds were really comfortable and though we had a rainy weekend, that didn't stop us from enjoying the house and local activities. The hot tub and game room were used everyday. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and ideal for a large group that was cooking most meals.
Being close to town was wonderful for being able to dip out when the rain let up. And the Cliffside Coaster and Olympic jumping complex were a short drive away and worth the trip!
I highly recommend staying here!

We had a great time!

Fantastic Trip
Fantastic trip all around. The house itself was perfect for our needs and the location was spot on. Easy walk to Main Street and all it has to offer. Everyone in our party loved the house and everything it had to offer. Julie was a pleasure to work with through the booking process and even provided us a list of activities which would be well suited for our young children. There was more than enough room and the common areas were perfect for hanging out or eating our meals. Would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Lake Placid.

Great house and location!
This house was great as were the home owners! The house itself was clean, warm and cozy with a well equipped kitchen and great family room with fireplace to gather after a day of skiing. The house is located just a short walk to town where there’s lots of cute stores and restaurants. Staying here we got to enjoy the town (the teenagers enjoyed being able to walk to town on their own!) and Whiteface mountain is just a short drive away. The home owners were very responsive before and during our stay! They went above and beyond providing recommendations and tending to our family’s needs for a great trip. Would definitely recommend. Our family had a fun and memorable trip!

Great Ski Getaway
This house is a great location. We were able to walk into town for shopping and dinner. It was only a short drive to White Face. The house was very clean and provided a great atmosphere to relax in after a cold day on the mountain. The owners were great before, during, and after our stay. We will be back soon.
