Our stay at Rick's Place was absolutely awesome.

Rick's Place was great for us and our 13 year old granddaughter (she had her own bedroom) for us to explore Hurricane Ridge, the Sol Duc waterfalls, kayaking at Freshwater Bay, whale watching out of Port Angeles, and taking the ferry for a day in Victoria, Canada! Breakfast fixings awaited us and used dishes magically got taken care of. A great stack of family games we enjoyed in the evening.

Rick, the property owner, maintains the property well. He provided useful information about Olympic National Park before our departure, which greatly assisted in planning our visit. My spouse and I had a comfortable stay.

Great stay. Amazing host. Private and SO clean! Didn’t miss a kitchen sink at all and we cooked the whole week! Wish I had Rick at home to do all my dishes😊. I recommend this property to anyone visiting the Olympic Peninsula/National Park.

Rick goes out of his way to make you feel at home. It is well kept and a great location. While walking around the neighborhood I found the Fine Arts Center with a wooded trail full of interesting sculptures and art everywhere I looked. I highly recommend this place.

Rick provided the lower floor for us and it was just wonderful. 2 rooms are available with a shared bath. All of it was spotlessly clean. He does the dishes which is really nice. He provides some baked items. We met and talked when we came in. He is truly a nice person and is knowledgeable about the area. He gave some great advice to maximize our visit to the Olympic Nat'l Park.

Order of magnitude better than anything else in Port Angeles, WA, or surrounding area. This rental home is the absolute best we have ever experienced anywhere in the US from any rental property site/owner. Rick, the proprietor, goes way beyond what anyone would expect with his professionalism, friendliness, personality, helpfulness, and his accommodating manner. He is basically your high value concierge with a heart for serving and pampering you.

We stayed in this property in August. The place is very clean, great location within two minute driving to all attractions, restaurants. The host, Rick, was amazing. I wish every VRBO had a host like Rick. The place was cleaned every day. The place has two bedrooms and great common space. The property also has a very cute reading nook under the stairs that we utilized a lot, especially our son. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

This is the lower half of a split-level house with generous space, a comfortable bathroom, beautifully appointed and with a lovely garden and outdoor picnic options. The host makes the snack area comfortable and well stocked pantry and fridge. He stocks the kitchen with ample information about attractions, and is happy to help with information. The beds and space are ultra comfy and the decor reflects the beauty of the area.

Rick was very hospitable and refilled the fruits each day so we could hot the parks right away in the morning. The neighborhood is quiet and very nice. The location is great of you are trying to go to Olympic and the view is spectacular.

Rick was a lovely host. This was my second time staying in his property. I visit my daughter and granddaughter a few times a year. This home allows space for both to stay if they wish. Plenty of games for my granddaughter.
I will stay here again!

Rick’s place is homey and comfortable. Rick is a gracious host and ready to help in anyway possible. My husband and I had a wonderful time and used this as a home base for our excursions.

Rick was one of the finest hosts I have ever encountered. Before we even arrived, he sent us several helpful messages about the best route to his place from SEA-TAC, the must-see highlights of Olympic National Park, and even suggestions of the best way to take in all the sights.
Meeting Rick was a pleasure. He gave us a tour of our accommodations and some good suggestions of where to have dinner. Rick allowed us our privacy, but was always available for advice or a friendly chat.
Our apartment was excellent, Rick's "butler service" a unique feature. And a bonus - we did not realize until we arrived that we had a view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca from our picnic table in our lovely garden.
We highly recommend Rick's Place.

Rick's place was as represented in the listing. The suite was very clean, the decor outstanding and the furnishings very comfortable. In other words, everything was first rate! No water in the kitchen was a bit tricky, but Rick supplied enough fresh water daily and was "Johnny-on-the-spot" to take away our dirty dishes after we left for the day.

Rick’s place was well furnished, comfortable and met all our needs. It was an excellent location - close to many of the areas attractions and driving distance to others. Would stay there again.

Rick's Place is amazing. I hadn't expected that this bottom-floor apartment runs the WHOLE length of a huge modern house on a hill, overlooking the bay. Two queen-bed rooms, a living room space with ample seating, game table, inset electric fireplace, Strong WiFi. Park on the street, entry through a gated garden patio complete with picnic table. We stepped into the apartment through the slider door, directly into the 'kitchen' he calls the nook. It has everything-kitchen: refrigerator, dining table/two captain chairs, a loaded china hutch & coffee corner, stainless table for food prep, and a variety of cooking methods, including a full size microwave. He doesn't have a water delivery system in the nook, but he's done well by having a filled gallon-size Britta that you can refill in the bathroom sink. AM, before you leave, he'll come down to pick up any dirty dishes you place in a designated basin.
He helps by stocking basic necessities for a quick AM cereal breakfast, fruit and coffee before you can get to the grocery store.
The location is only about 1/2 mile away from the road that takes you to Hurricane Ridge and the little town has a number of good restaurant choices for take out dinners.
We will definitely reserve Rick's Place again, if we're in the area. Highly recommended!!

My wife spent two fantastic nights at Rick’s Place while we explored Olympic National Park. Great location. Pre-arrival coordination was excellent. Rick met us upon arrival and provided thorough introduction to the property. We enjoyed using the Goerge Foreman grill to grill chicken breasts one night. Bed was very comfortable. Rick has maps and books on the park available for use - very helpful. We had a great time and would definitely stay at Rick’s Place again!

Rick's Place is a newly furnished, large, very comfortable basement apartment well located to explore the national park and the northern coast of the peninsula. The place is immaculate. Rick is friendly and on call for any questions or concerns (we had none). Our personal rating test is would we rent from Rick again. Our answer is absolutely! Propective renter should be aware of two concerns we had. 1) The kitchen is not full functioning. We ate out all meals except breakfast so it was not a problem for us. 2) The basement is not completely private. There is no door on the steps separating the rental space from the house upstairs. Again not an issue for us. We are as quiet as church mice, but a more boisterous group may want to talk to Rick about it.

Warm welcome from Rick. Meticulously clean. Fridge and kitchen comes with all breakfast needs and more.

We had the pleasure to stay one week at Rick's place. The property listing comes with an extensive and accurate description. Rick welcomed us to the property in person and gave us a tour. The kitchen arrangement is a bit unusual, but we were able to enjoy home cooked meals. Rick is very responsive, friendly and helpful. The living room provides a great place for relaxing and enjoying the views of the Strait of San Juan de Fuca. We enjoyed the hiking guides and tour books for Olympic Nat'l park and the peninsula. Every room in the property was very clean and nicely decorated and provides an excellent environment for relaxing after long hikes in the National Park.

Rick's place is exceptionally clean and comfy. Views of the strait/ocean are pretty and it's nice to walk around the neighborhood to see all the neighbors' gardens. Rick went above and beyond to make us comfortable, providing filtered water, supplies for cereal/oatmeal, dishwashing service, and plenty of information about Olympic national park. Beds and linens/towels were comfy and we had everything we needed! This is a great staging point for seeing the national park! We'd also recommend the beach down at Sand Creek Recreation area for kids to explore the tidepools and play in the ocean!

Great Place for Home Base @ Port Angeles
This was the perfect home base and neighborhood to visit Olympic National Park along with other day trips. The basement apartment is extremely clean, comfortable beds, plenty of room and privacy. Rick was a great host and takes care of the dishes daily (didn't miss a sink in the kitchen) which was nice to come back to at the end of the day of hiking and exploring. All of the kitchen appliances/tools are available for food prep and to cook meals.
I would highly recommend Rick's Place for your visit in Port Angeles. We had a great trip.

Very nice
We appreciated the location, the cleanliness, the view, and the overall feel of Rick's Place. On top of this, Rick was incredibly attentive without being intrusive (he was also very friendly and focused on making our stay good) He provided plenty of water for us daily (there's no sink in the kitchen, just an FYI), and it was very nice to not have to deal with our own dishes (he had a tub for us to put the dirty dishes in daily). It was quiet at night -- in fact, it's a quiet place, overall. We had a great stay and would definitely return (if we were in the area).

Staying at Ricks Place
2 week Stay with our own Butler Rick who did our dishes everyday! Place was immaculate and suited our every need. The view over Puget Sound every morning from Ricks place was beyond words. Rick even placed fresh fruit every morning and always there to meet every need. Words alone even after our detailed orientation with Rick can not describe his place which to us made it feel very welcomed. We would definitely
Visit again.

This was an excellent place to stay for exploring the Olympic Peninsula. Only 15-45 minutes drive to various trails such as Marymere falls (5/5 stars!) and Sol Duc falls (also 5/5 stars!). Be aware the park charges $30 but you get a 7-day pass for that price. Rick's place was perfect for us, because it has a kitchen and we like to make our own meals. It also has a nice living room with a gas fireplace and a big TV that we used to review our pictures each day. Small caveat -- there's no sink in the kitchen, but there is one in the bathroom down the hall, and Rick does the dishes each day while you are gone. Another small caveat -- being a basement area, the bedroom is heated with a space heater that doesn't have a thermostat, so we recommend putting it on LOW and leave the door open so the temp stays around 70. Any higher setting, or closing the door, will result in 85 easily. We really enjoyed the space. The lighting is great, it has all the amenities we needed, great location, in a quiet neighborhood. We saw deer in the neighborhood every day. We will very likely be back to Rick's place!

Cozy and Comfortable
We had a really nice time at Rick's place. The unit was immaculately clean, well-appointed and comfortable. The fireplace was a wonderfully cozy addition, and his thoughtful touches were evident throughout the unit. We didn't really cook, so the lack of a kitchen sink was no problem, and Rick promptly cleaned our dishes while we were gone for the day. We will certainly be back!
