Hoku Lani, or “Heavenly Star” is a two story air conditioned 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home with lofty ceilings, concrete construction and gorgeous details throughout. You’ll love the mahogany and kiwi custom cabinetry and granite countertops in our gourmet chef kitchen. Fine touches like redwood interior doors with patina copper panels, wood and copper details and sculpted pedestals add to the ambience and luxury.
This beautiful 1460 square foot home is situated in the heart of kihei on the Maui Beach Walk, just steps to the ocean and all it has to offer, from surfing at Cove Park, to swimming and snorkeling at Charlie Young Beach. Here you can enjoy paddle boarding, kayaking and other water activities or just lounge on the beautiful sand beach and take in the gorgeous views.

Perfect walking location to all the beaches and amenities in Kihei. House was beyond well stocked and had every item you’d want or need for the beaches. The grounds were great to lay about in and the property overall was in top shape. Will certainly look to book again if we ever travel with another family.

Had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful property for a week. 5 adults and two little ones. The home is very comfortable, nice furniture, blankets, comfy beds, comfy outdoor furniture, well appointed kitchen, and the bikes were so fun too. The outdoor tub was a hit with the kids and the outdoor shower (with warm water!!) was loved by all. Perfect location for this beautiful, secluded private yard located 1/2 block from nice beach, close to groceries, restaurants etc. Tammy was an exceptional host, we had two separate requests that were dealt with very efficiently and with grace- much appreciated. Hope to get back here again as it’s the nicest place we’ve ever stayed at in Maui - Recommend 100% if could give more than 5 stars we would. Thanks Tammy:)

We just returned from a 10 day stay at this beautiful home. The house has so much character. We are a family of 5 adults and had plenty of room. The yard was a great spot to just hang out and relax after playing at the beach all day. The living room had comfortable furniture for lounging in the evenings too. The location is unbeatable. We walked everywhere! Looking forward to our next stay.

What a great place to spend our first family vacation, and especially at Christmas. The house was very unique making it feel like we were staying in a place that truly felt Hawaiian. The yard was perfect for the grand kids to play in and being so close to the beach made it easy to walk. Having the wagon to haul all the provided beach equipment along with us was great.
Would highly recommend this vacation to families for a vacation.

Yes, we traveled to Maui 8 days after the fires started in Lahaina. Our first option was to cancel our trip because it did not feel right vacationing on Maui in the middle of the disaster. Also the Hawaii government strongly discouraged any unnecessary travel to prevent any further stress on resources. But sad to say, vrbo/host would not release us from their contract. This was disappointing since, Hawaiian Airlines and the car rental companies on Maui had policies in place to allow cancellations due to the situation. At the time of our start 'vacation' date, vrbo had their no refund policy in place. This forced us (3 of the 5) to make the trip or lose our entire payment without using the rental.
Extraordinary times require leadership to step up and do the right thing. In this case, vrbo failed. I read that vrbo EVENTUALLY made changes to their long standing no refund policy for this extraordinary situation.

This truly felt like a home away from home. It is generously stocked with lots of little items you didn't know you needed, like cold aloe gel in the fridge. Lots of condiments, spices, and cookware. Enough plates and glasses for a party! Tons of towels, too. My grandchildren enjoyed the ping pong table, scooter, boogie boards, and snorkeling gear. There's an ABC store and shaved ice a short walk away, not to mention several beautiful beaches as well. Something to know that might be important for others is that the bedroom/sleeping space on the second floor has no doors. The downstairs bedrooms have open transomes over the doors. You can hear pretty much everything going on most of the time. Not a deal breaker for us but may be for some.

This was a perfect house for my husband and me, our daughter, son-in-law and their three kids during our stay in Maui! The house has an electric front gate, so you cannot see the house from the street and it is secluded and quiet. Once you pull into the propert, the front yard is huge with lots of beautiful landscaping. The pictures of the house do not do it justice. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and everything you need during your stay is provided. There are plenty of items to take to the beach, too, chairs, a wagon, smal cooler, kids toys, snorkels, fins, etc. Charley Young beach is literally a 5 minute walk down the street and is gorgeous. We loved the location, and Tammy was a great host. We will definitely stay here again the next time we travel to Maui!

Our family loved staying here! As others have said, the photos do not do it justice. We were 6 adults and 1 young child, and were comfortable. The outdoor space was lovely and the location walkable to the beach was so nice. Tammy was very responsive. We would definitely stay here again.

The property is well maintained with all amenities you could ask for being so close to the beach! We utilized the water sport gear and yard everyday. Such an amazing space and so close to everything we needed like shops, restaurants and of course THE BEACH!

Our experience could. It have been better. The property itself was a prefect location. Walking distance to the beach and any amenities you might want. The house itself was fully equipped, with many areas to gather both inside and outside. In addition, the host was incredibly accomodating. We could not have had a better experience !!.

This property is amazing. The grounds are gorgeous. Lots of room to enjoy the sunshine and greenery on property. The house is great - especially for families with younger children. While we were a group of 6 senior women, it would have been nice to have a bathroom on the second floor. The kitchen was well equipped. The pillows in the second floor bed alcove need to be replaced. Overall a beautiful place.

This is a magical property. So much privacy in the heart of Kihei. Perfect for a family stay or a few couples. Plenty of room, amazing outdoor spaces, and one minute walk to the beach. Truly an amazing place to stay.

What a great property. Very cool older house with character.
The outside: big yard with a hammock, outdoor shower, outdoor bathtub, multiple patios with loungers and chairs, driveway to park up to 3 cars, automatic gate, BBQ. The inside: cool loft that kids would love, big bedrooms, well stocked kitchen, big living room. The extras: lots of towels, surfboards, stand up paddle board, boogie boards, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, beach toys, wagon for hauling all this great stuff. The location can't be beat: half a short block to Charlie Young beach, Foodland and restuarants are walkable. Great place.

Hoku Lani was perfect for our family of 5. The location was within walking distance from the beach, shops, and activities; this was perfect for our 3 college aged kids. It was a home away from home oasis with everything we needed to make our trip memorable. I hope this location is available when we make our 2nd trip to Maui. Thank you Tammy!

We had a big family dinner outside one night on the lawn and walked to the beach daily. Truly am amazing property!

We had our adult family visiting and had a great time. The location to the beach was amazing and there was also lots of outdoor space on the property. We appreciated having multiple locations so we could space out as needed. Plenty of hot water. The photos on the listing do not do this place justice.

The house is amazing, has all the amenities you would need for a beach vacation. Perfect location, 2 min walk to Charley Young Beach. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here!! We will definitely be back to the house. Communication with Tammy was great too!

This vacation house is in an ideal location for beach and amenities in the Kihei/Wailea area. We walked to many places. The house is exactly as the pictures show and the yard and living areas make this a quiet, comfortable oasis in the middle of paradise. This was perfect for our family (3 adult couples) and would also easily accommodate 6-8 people. The host was exceptionally responsive and accommodating. I would choose this place first for any return visits.

We met up with family to share this house for our vacation with kids. It was stocked with all manner of equipment, from sand toys/floaties/boards, to a bike and golf clubs, this place was ready, and saved us money on rentals. Additionally, it has many different nooks/spaces where our large group could spread out when we wanted to, but come together for shared meals, etc. If I ever get to come back, I would fight someone to have this place again. Tammy was excellent, and very responsive, too!

Wonderful Vacation
This was the perfect place for our family to stay on Maui. The kids could run and play in the gated yard when we were home, and being half a block to a great beach was a huge plus. We will definitely stay here again in the future if we get the opportunity.
