Theres was no garbage bags. And in the basement was water coming from we believe the ac and it caused my brother in law to fall and hurt himself. Property would be great if updated and taken care of. House smelled of mildew

This is through Vacasa rentals.
I explained the same in Vacasa reviews also.
They are least bothered about customers.
We had issues with bad smell in the house, water smells like poop, my daughter caught rash etc.,
I literally asked them to move us to different place with all the issues in the house. They mentioned they will help the situation but intentionally didn’t help anything.
They don’t even check the supplies like grill gas, tidy towels , blankets etc.,
We called 10 times in 3 days stay but now if the issues are addressed. They just ignore customers.
They messed up my vacation.
Hopeless rentals.
Thanks.

Pictures looked way nicer. And place was not well prepped. Grill didn’t work. Many Lightbulbs were out. The automatic deadlock didn’t work. Had to call to get access via secondary key box. Pool table was rundown. Pocket baskets were busted so balls dropped straight to ground. The sectional in the living room wasn’t attached so it slide all over the place. The neighborhood was rather rundown as well. So wasn’t very pleasant to walk our dogs.

Amazing views and great house to accommodate our little family.

This is a beautiful clean home in a very peaceful area.
There is a camper on the property that is not listed in the rental listing. We also think that the listing is misleading as far as the proximity to the dock. There are almost 200 steep steps to the dock.
Once down there it is beautiful.
We had some weird things happen with the doors, as in came back after being out and twice, doors were open. We noticed a door was unlocked in the basement one night when tucking our kids in. Ultimately we decided it was not safe to stay there any more and left 3 days early.
The beds are comfortable and sitting outside relaxing was very peaceful.
The dishwasher did not clean the dishes, and there was not hot water in the kitchen faucet.
The kitchen was well stocked.

Great getaway I will definitely return.

We really enjoyed our time over the weekend and the house was very nice. Plenty of room to spread out and have separate entertainment areas for the adults upstairs and sending the kids downstairs.
It should be noted that even though there is a comment in the description "There is currently no water in the cove, due to drought", it is fairly far down in the description despite the numerous pictures of the dock and water. It was not a problem for us since it was colder, but it was not obvious and the cove looks NOTHING like the pictures.

First, I absolute LOVE the ceiling in the living room/kitchen… this is basically my dream vacation house, if ever we’re to own one myself.
Plenty of comfortable beds, working TVs, new appliances… that’s really all you need!
It’s sad that the lake is so dried up, but that’s out of the homeowner’s control. It didn’t affect us since we were visiting in the fall and it was raining most of the time, but if we had been there during the spring or summer and wanted to kayak, it would’ve been a bit disappointing. But again, the homeowner can’t exactly control the water levels in the lake. C’est la vie!

The property, house and view were great. The listing was spot on and did not disappoint. We had 4 adults and enjoyed the pool table, sitting on the porch and around the huge kitchen island. The only downfall were all the stairs to the water, but you just need to be prepared to make one trip down and stay down there.

The home was clean and very nice.
There is no hot water in the kitchen sink. The dishwasher did not work.
The bathroom doors do not lock.
Beds are all very comfortable.
Nice to have a washer and dryer.
It was beautiful to sit on the porch and fun to play cornhole.
The listing did not mention the 196 steep steps to the lake.
Or the camper on the property.
We got to the home on Saturday afternoon.
Sunday at bedtime I went to tuck my kids in, downstairs and found that the door down there was unlocked.
I locked it and my husband checked the basement.
Monday we returned back to the home after being out and the south door that we hadn’t used, was open. We blamed it on a windy day and moved on.
Wednesday evening we came back around 9:30pm. My kids went downstairs and the basement door was wide open. The home was 58 degrees. They immediately ran upstairs. No one felt comfortable staying there after that and we called Vacasa. The representative told us she would check to see if maintenance was being done while we were out and get right back to us. In the meantime we packed our things. No one called back. 40 minutes later we called again and let them know we were leaving the home.
We are still waiting on confirmation of a full refund for the 3 nights we were not there.

We enjoyed our stay at Chez Elmo so much! Had a group of friends and family get together at this home and the property was gorgeous. One of us was in town a little earlier than our check-in time and took the recommendation to visit a nearby restaurant, The Grille at Highland Lakes, which was also a very neat place to grab a drink and bite to eat. Great staff and unique atmosphere/view of the lake - only 9 mins away.
The home was fully furnished with plenty of room, and storage space for clothes and suitcases. Floor fans included, which was awesome. Kitchen was so nice and so open, fully stocked with everything we needed to cook, with also plenty of room to store whatever we brought. The connected dock was an added bonus. The stair access to the dock was safe and a great design, we just tried to make sure we grabbed everything we needed by the water the first time around. It's an amazing house and comes highly recommended from this group!

We stayed in early July 2021. Parents, four kids ages 3-11, and short visits from extended family. Short review: we will almost surely book this home again. Highly recommended. It's clearly a labor of love for the owners, it's well-managed by Turnkey, and truly an outstanding value for private lake access on the north shore.
Home, layout, decor, etc.: we've mostly stayed in newer master-planned communities on the north shore, but I'm so glad we looked at this home. It isn't new, but it is beautifully redone. Flooring, paint, new kitchen, quality bathroom finishes. You'll be very comfortable here. The basement game room is the most simple space with a painted concrete floor and area carpeting, but it's very clean and comfortable. Our "big kids" loved sleeping here all in the same space. All the beds and other furnishings are comfortable throughout the house. Everything is newish or very well-maintained. The kitchen included a small and welcomed selection of staples, and every pot, pan, or utensil you'd need. The hosts were great about providing reverse osmosis water for drinking and way more bottled water than we could have needed. (Also a bottle of champagne!) There are great TVs in every room with a wide selection of channels plus Smart TV features for Netflix etc. The wifi was great.
The setting: WOW. Awesome views from the back patio and carport patio. Wooded cove all around you, and a view of the lake out the cove to the east. The dock access is also beautiful. (Know that it's a lot of steps down to the lake.) Two kayaks and six floats for meandering through Hatters Cove. Wildlife includes fish and turtles in the cove, armadillo in the garden, deer in the back yard, and dozens of hummingbirds eating at the feeders hung around the property.
What's nearby: Arkansas Bend Park is about ten minutes away, with a rocky beach access, several walking trails, and a great playground. You're not far from the amenities of Lago Vista or Jonestown, including decent restaurants for kids or adults (we especially enjoyed Rounders Pizza and The Grille at Highland Lakes). There are boat rentals at Liquid Thrillz, which is about 15 minutes from Chez Elmo whether by land or by water. We also spent a day in Round Rock, about a 45 minute drive. Check out Old Settlers Park.
I think this property is great. Give it a try. We were really lucky to find it when we did, and we hope to be back.
