About this house rental
68 Persimmon Ct is a rare 8 bedroom, 8 bathroom home in the desirable Vanderhorst Plantation area of Kiawah Island. With over 6,000 square feet of space, you can bring all your family and friends to relax and unwind. A highlight of this home are the spectacular marsh views and its location on the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. This home is an easy walk to the Marsh Observation Tower and a mile and a half bike ride down to the stunning beach. The most stunning new feature is a beautiful saltwater, infinity edge pool (22' x 11' dimensions, cannot be heated). There is not enough room on most platforms to view all pictures of this enormous property, you can go to our company site to view the rest.
This incredible spacious home is highlighted by expansive windows that easily let in natural light. The open floorplan allows your group to enjoy numerous spaces, spread out and relax. Perhaps one of the most interesting features is the recessed, centralized sitting room that opens to a lovely sun room. It is a great space to converse with friends or curl up with a great book. The main living room is just off of this area and has a large flat screen TV and pool table. The dining room is adjacent to the central living room as well, and has a larger dining table with seating for 8 guests.
The kitchen is functional and spacious with lots of storage and well-equipped with everything you need. The large center island is perfect for prepping a large meal. There are three bar stools at the island and a breakfast table in the kitchen that seats 6 more guests. The kitchen and baths are original to the home with pricing that reflects the incredible location and spaciousness of the home.
The expansive back deck is accessible from multiple rooms on the rear side of the house. Its the perfect spot for your morning coffee, grill out, or just relish in the beautiful nature views and being outdoors.
For planning your trip, there are 4 bedrooms on the first floor and 4 on the second floor, bedding set up is as follows:

- Bedroom 2- King, Private Bathroom, left side of the first floor
- Bedroom 3- Queen, Hall Bathroom, right side of the first floor

This home is very open and has great space for a large family gathering or multiple families vacationing together. It has multiple living areas, plenty of bathrooms and a wonderful pool. While the appliances and some of the home are dated, everything worked well and was perfect for our large family gathering. It is a good value for the space it offers. The host was responsive and helpful. We would stay here again.

Overall, we were pleased with the house. Enjoyed the pool and the game room was the Golden Tee was a big hit with the young adults. The bathrooms and kitchen are somewhat dated but functional. Only big complaint is a shocking lack of forks for a house this size -- only 10! The oven has also seen better days.

This is the first time we have booked outside of the resort. We have been coming to Kiawah for 20+ years. The rental company was wonderful to work with however, the house needed a lot of work. There was cobwebs on the lamps, mold on the vents, And the kitchen needs major updates. The two queen bunks are in an area that you have to walk through to get to the other bedrooms so there is no privacy upstairs. One of the other king rooms doesn’t have an attached bathroom, it is in the hallway. I feel like the owners need to spend some money to make this property nicer before renting it out. Do you have what’s listed as a 7 to 8 bedroom house and there’s only eight forks in the kitchen. The The oven is from the 1980s and the refrigerator is quite small for as many people as we had. There was a second refrigerator on the other side of the house, which was not super convenient. The pool area is tiny and not inviting at all. The kitchen has chipped paint all over the cabinets, and the floors are disgusting. Again, the rental company was very easy to deal with in responded quickly to anything we asked. I just don’t think this house should be rented until the owners put some money back into it. They seem very careless. I took pictures, but there’s not a place to attach them for this review

When we arrived, the front door wouldn’t shut. There was drywall dust all over the first floor from a ceiling repair and no one cleaned afterward. Toilet ran & made loud noises, was never fixed. Electrical plugs don’t work, oven overheats badly! One stove top appears dangerous as a huge flame shot up when turned on! Front door never locked til day before we left! Some rooms have no air conditioning and can’t be used. If you call for repairs to be made, they said we have to stay there and wait, which takes hrs. You can waste your vacation time waiting for repairmen to come, and it needs so many repairs! Only one working refrigerator, used the 2nd one and all the food spoiled!

We had an extended family vacation with 17 people and the house comfortably accommodated our group. We had plenty of beds and well-furnished living areas. The house definitely needs updates and the kitchen is past due for a remodel; cabinet paint worn/ missing as an example. A bit disappointed in the kitchen utensils as there weren’t enough forks for our entire group (glad we had some plastic ones). The bedrooms were spacious and while the deck areas were small the pool was a nice relief to the heat. Our family especially enjoyed eating meals at the round table in the breakfast nook. We know that houses this size cost much more and we appreciated the lower rate. Despite some of the appliances and showers needing updating they all worked very well. It was especially nice having two microwaves and ice makers.

Wedding vacation was great except for the accommodations. The condition of the house does not reflect the actual. The front door is HARD to lock from the inside, towel bar not attached to was in bathroom, kitchen island had greasy film, what appears to be mold around air grille in upstairs bedroom, many light switches but few marked, deteriorated wood on exterior door jambs, no instructions for main tv set with 5 controllers and problem with getting correct incoming signal, several windows could not be operated by handles, and one was broken, bathroom tub water control handle broken, paint chips, especially where painted grey, were numerous throughout the house and the welcome book of instructions was found inside living room table instead of on the entry table. If it wasn't for the size and location, would consider the house a satisfaction level 1

This house was perfect for our extended family who flew out for a wedding. There was plenty of room for everyone (12 adults 8 kids) and it is in a great location. The bike paths are fun an inviting while the beach is also close by.

Upon arrival found that the house hadn't or was very poorly cleaned and made up. Contacted office. Nice gentleman came by and agreed on state of house cleaning and he fixed a running toilet. Said he would contact cleaners but nothing happened. So we cleaned and washed ourselves Once done things got better and we had a good week. Some repairs are need but the house has good room and flow. We need a big house and this is one of the few. We have vacationed on Kiawah 10 times and always enjoy it.

The house was very spacious and work great for our large family. We had a great time on Kiawah Island! As far as the house itself, the owners need to take care of some basic maintenance issues. There was a leak in the bedroom roof that occurred 2 different nights during a rainstorm. One of the AC units had to be serviced after it stopped cooling 2 bedrooms and the kitchen/dining room. It was apparent that the windows had not been cleaned in some time, and you could not take advantage of the view of the marsh area. The entire yard has not been cared for or maintained. The beds were covered in weeds and there were several dead trees and bushes...very overgrown. This is the first thing you notice when you drive up to the house. The kitchen could use an update.The staff at ESPM was responsive to our calls and had maintenance staff scheduled as quickly as possible.

We have been staying in holiday rentals in Hilton Head and Kiawah for ten years. We have never been offered a home in the state of aforementioned address. The kitchen floor was disgusting...greasy and no way to properly clean it. Needs to be redone. Most of the appliances were old....kitchen faucet sprayed me every time I used it. Cracked wine glasses found upon our arrival. The bathrooms needed some paint. My sister came to visit us for two days and she was just appalled at the state of the home knowing what we were paying to stay there. We should have been told that it was in need of some TLC. It is a great property with a pool and pool table which we certainly enjoyed. I will say that the maintenance manager that came to our home twice was very professional and easy to work with. My suggestion to you is to close this home and fix what desperately needs refurbishment. That is only fair to your customers who come to Kiawah with great expectations to be met with a beautiful and welcoming home.

While we generally enjoyed the property location and layout (multiple sleeping areas), we found that the property was in disrepair. Upon arrival, we noticed that the kitchen side of the house was very warm and the A/C was not working properly for the kitchen and two bedrooms next to the kitchen. Maintenance was called and came 1 day later, but we were surprised the maintenance company hadn't checked the A/C before our arrival. We also felt there were many "known" problems with the property that were not communicated, and the rental rate was not adjusted appropriately. We had problems with the kitchen fridge icemaker, and were told someone would come fix it, then we were told that the needed part was on order, and then we were brought bags of ice and gift cards. I'm not sure if we understood that the fridge repair person wasn't still coming.... There were hinges broken on cabinet doors, towel bars pulled off the wall, and chips in the paint on many doors, and scrapes on the wood floors. The living room sofa was stained. It was difficult viewing wildlife through the dirty windows (or seals were broken). Kitchen lights were dirty. There was mold on the eat-in kitchen ceiling, and at the base of doors going outside. Much of the outdoor woodwork needed touch-up or was stained. Metal drawer pulls were rusting. The entry way ceiling was in the middle of being touched up/painted. There were cobwebs in many places. Many bathrooms (the master too) had no blow dryers. Many wine glasses/plates were chipped.

This home is very large. The living spaces are spacious, albeit we thought the outdoor spaces would be better if not separated by an indoor sunroom with marble floors. Baths but especially the kitchen needs a complete update. There were miscellaneous pots and pans and there was no real order to anything. There was a uniform set of plates and bowls which was appreciated. However, the drinking glasses and wine glasses were mix and match, thrift store style. There were 2 sets of steak knives and NO working everyday cooking knives. The top floor was totally unusable and the stairs going up were dangerous,. The washer and dryer on the main floor are from the 1980’s and are not updated. The stackable unit on the 2nd floor did NOT clean adequately and should be removed.Most of the beds were without mattress pads, which was unhygienic Given all the measures you take to remove all condiments and food items from the home as a covid precaution, it would make sense that your beds were made properly. When we arrived and wanted to use the grill we had to call you because the grate was covered in rust. I am sorry, but your “home inspectors” as you refer to them should do a much better job at preparing a home for guests. Having said all this, staying on Kiawah island is wonderful for a large family or a group of friends. The house has a beautiful view of the marsh and the sunsets were magnificent....the only downside is the patio is VERY tight for a home this large. There are many activities for kids of all ages. Our youngsters loved the pool and biking to the beach; we had a large family dinner every night and there was more than adequate space for eating together.

68 Persimmon was the perfect place to stay comfortably with a large group. With plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas, it was a great house to rent with friends for a fun and relaxing time! The location was also a quick bike ride away from the beach and tennis courts. ESPM was very easy to communicate with and made our stay even better! Hope to stay here again soon.
