About this apartment rental
Enjoy this beautiful, fully-renovated and refurbished 1800 square foot apartment in the heart of New Iberia's burgeoning Historic District, within the aged brick and mortar shell of what was once a Civil War military bunk house.
This newly-updated living space sits above District Art-Art Gallery, on scenic Main Street, near the Duperier Street Bridge, spanning the muddy, serpent-like Bayou Teche, named by the Attakapas Indians, with their word for snake. New Iberia's Main Street has been called the nation's prettiest, by Forbes Magazine.
Enjoy a relaxed, spacious atmosphere with this open floor plan that provides one private bed room with a queen bed, and one double bed and futon in the common area that sleeps six.
It contains a fully furnished kitchen with all the amenities , including gas stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, gorgeous skylight and sink.
There are two second-story balconies, one facing Main Street and one in the rear, with a winding staircase leading to a quaint courtyard behind the art gallery, as well as parking.
A short walking distance from the Shadows on the Teche, an historic antebellum home, Bouligny Plaza, home of the annual World Championship Gumbo Cookoff and Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival .
Enjoy downtown shopping and night life and you are a short drive from Avery Island, home of the Mcllhenny Family Tabasco Factory, the lush Jungle Gardens and Jefferson Island, home of the noted Rip Van Winkle Gardens and home of Joseph Jefferson.

Wow! What a nice place this is, so well equipped and tastefully furnished.. everything was just great. Right in the middle of town on Main Street too. Host was very accomodating and gracious. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed the setting and the size of your rental. However, the bed was too small and hard. We are tall people and enjoy sleeping on our sides. The bed was too hard so we didn’t get much sleep for all three nights. Tossing and turning. But we really did enjoy the look of your place and all the accoutrements. Fantastic record collection!

This property is amazing! So unique and right in the heart of New Iberia. It is huge and beautifully decorated. Completely stocked for a comfortable stay. The owner is awesome and very responsive. She gave us great recommendations on what to do in the area. If you find yourself in this part of louisiana, this place is a MUST! We enjoyed the beautiful balcony. Art gallery below should be your first stop. We will be back!

We were blown away by this property! So clean, charming, and spacious! The host has thought of everything that one would need in a home away from home! The front and rear balconies were amazing, as well as the courtyard and it’s landscaping! The beds were comfy, plush towels, and numerous cookware/utensils available for use. The host was friendly and easy to contact with prompt replies. Hands down, this is one of the best VRBO properties we have stayed at. Will definitely visit again!

Some ole MCA classmates rented this place for the weekend. We couldn't get over how wonderful the loft was! The attention to detail was amazing! Fully stocked with everything you could need, including an abundance of towels, extra sheets, pillows, blankets, 2 air mattresses, and whatever cooking things needed in the kitchen. And those beautiful southern furnishings and decorations- WOW! It just got you ready for Christmas! And you can't beat the location. Walking distance to dining, shopping, entertainment, and just sight seeing. The Christmas parade rolled down main on the Saturday night and since we had a balcony overlooking, we watched from there. So fun! And Bridget was the most accommodating host ever! Easy to reach, quick response and just so eager to please. She just really goes out of her way to make sure your stay is the best. And it was! We are definitely gonna do it again!

Bridget even let me mail by KD hat to her so I didn't have to try to fly with it!! We will definitely be staying here again if we are in the area! The balconies are so relaxing!! This place is much bigger than I expected. The pictures do not do this place any justice!!! You will not be disappointed if you book here!!!!

The property was incredibly clean and well maintained. Every piece of decor / furniture was beautifully considered and the informative pamphlets and menus helped create a fantastic experience overall. New Iberia is a charming town full of history and this property does a wonderful job of blending this all in. The location is very convenient to the historic district.

Beautiful Historical Louisiana Stay
If I could give 10 stars instead of 5 that is how I would rate this vacation property! My sister and I stayed in New Iberia for several days to do some research and decided to stay in the beautiful downtown apartment. We are so glad we did! The beautiful decorations and style expressed the true history of the ole' south. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, having coffee on the front balcony and afternoon drinks on the back balcony overlooking the gardens. We had everything we needed and then some! Restaurants, museums and shopping was within walking distance. We were so surprised at how quiet it was downtown New Iberia, so no sleepless nights. The owner has done a wonderful job recreating the look and feel of the old southern Louisiana style and it made my sister feel right at home. Bridget was a wonderful host and appreciated her attention to detail and made us feel very welcome. We will be returning to New Iberia and wouldn't stay anywhere else.
