The host, Kris. The help he provided was invaluable. The room and the breakfast were top quality.

Everything was perfect, a wonderful host, concerned about everything and wanting the guests to feel perfect

It was a very well arranged stay and a spacious and clean room. If you enjoy staying at a local's home, get lots of good tips, enjoy a chat (such as a nice welcome and breakfast in his kitchen) then this is the place for you!

It was really great stay in Gent!
The owner was very kind and gentle man, so we could enjoy talking with him and stay comfortably:)
Plus, he rented two bicycles so we could enjoy cycling in Gent. That was really cool experience.

Kris was extremely helpful and inviting . The breakfast was lovely as well with a lot of variety

Kris is a wonderful host. The rooms are nice and spacious, amenities are great and the food is great. There is also provision for bikes.

Big shoutout for the super nice, truly caring host providing very helpful tips and for an atmosphere where you feel being part of the family. Delicious, plentiful breakfast. Located in a quiet residential area about 30 min walk to the main attractions or 15 min by bus.
Great for couples, probably not for families especially with small children. The typical small, narrow house has a steep staircase leading to small rooms with individual showers and shared toilets.

Chris is the best host I have ever met. He served us a hearty breakfast and fruit juice every morning.
He gave us a map for public transport and bicycles for free.
The mussels dinner he himself offered and prepared for us was incredibly delicious!
I booked because of all the positive comments and I'm very happy with my choice. Don't hesitate to book with the best host in Ghent.
Everything was perfect!

Host Kris is very nice and prepares amazing breakfast.

Really helpful host. He is very respectful of your privacy. He is also willing to have an interesting chat with you about all kinds of things if you're up for that as well. He also makes the best sunny side eggs I've tasted in a while!
In terms of what I didn't like, there's nothing to say about that. But booking.com wants me to write about what I didn't like. Okay, one night I forgot my pin code. I couldn't get in. I called up the host of the B&B and he let me in instead. I liked a lot that the host helped me. What I didn't like was that I forgot my own pin. Silly me!

Kris is the best host we've met so far. Very kind and friendly, he prepared delicious breakfast for us every morning and he even picked up from the station and drove us back when we were leaving! He also provided a lot of information and tips for Ghent and Flanders and made our stay easier and warmer.
Rooms are clean, warm, beds are comfy. The accommodation is located in a safe and quiet area, close to the main station and about 20-25 minutes of pleasant walking from Ghent downtown.
Thank you Kris for the lovely stay and the wonderful experience!

Kris is an amazing host - as a solo female traveller, I felt really safe. Check-in was simple and on arrival, Kris kindly went through a map of Ghent with me and also provided a prepaid bus card. He also drove me to the station on my last day, which was so generous of him. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was fine having the (private) toilet on a separate floor. All areas (private and communal) were always kept clean and tidy, and breakfast was lovely with great variety. The property is a 20-minute walk from the train station and about 25-30 minutes from the city centre.
Nothing to dislike as such - but others should be aware that the stairs up to the rooms are quite narrow, which seems to be the norm in this part of the world but may be troublesome for those with impaired mobility or bulky luggage. Also, the shower is exposed in that there is no door or curtain separating it from the bedroom - this wasn't an issue for me but may be awkward depending on your travel companion.

Tucked away inside a small street (and very safe area), Su'Ro offered a very quiet stay. No street noise at all. As a small property, I enjoyed the personal attention of the host, who takes the trouble to personalise breakfasts for all his guests. We had lovely conversations. Perhaps I was lucky in that I woke early and had some time with him before he set off to work.
The room facilities were in good working order, the lighting was good, enough charging points, wifi strong and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was immaculately clean and the fixtures were likewise in good working order. Hot water came through quickly, water pressure was good and drainage good. The temperature outside during my stay was wonderfully mild so I can't comment on climate control since that wasn't necessary. The only difficulty I had related to opening the skylight for fresh air but maybe because it was all new to me.
The property is about 1.3km on foot from Gent-St-Pieters railway station. I walked there on foot, and timed it to be 20 minutes. Going downtown to the main attractions of Ghent, it's more convenient to learn to take the bus (or rent a bicycle) than try to walk there, though the 3 km distance is walkable through rather pleasant university areas. One advantage of not being in the centre of tourist areas is that there are nice non-touristy restaurants within a 500m - 1 km radius and a laundromat on the very next street.
I found the stairs somewhat steep though I know that this is not unusual for houses in Europe. That said, it was not a problem most days until I had to carry luggage up and down the stairs. That's the only time I noticed that I had to be careful with my balance.

Kris was the most kind host I ever seen. He picked us up in the station, tough us a lot about the city, helped us buy bus tickets and the castle entrance.
The house us super cozy, the bedroom is big, comfortable, nice shower, with all the accessories.
The location is great, you can go anywhere by foot within 15 minutes or take the bus just by the end of the street.
Ghent is great and beautiful, and with our stay with Kris in Su'ro, everything was better.

- Location that is approximately 15 mins walk from the train station and 30 mins walk away from the city center. Trams and buses are accessible too.
- Clean and comfortable room.
- Good breakfast of ham, egg, cheese, bread, orange juice and coffee
- The host Kris is very friendly and helpful. He picked us up from the bus station and sent us to the train station when we were leaving. He also shared a lot of information about Ghent.

Kris is a very helpful person, totally available and the service is just perfect.

Fantastic little place. Great atmosphere created by Kris, the landlord. Great balance of privacy and home-like atmosphere. Great location, especially for International Congress Centre. Only short walk to old town. Very cosy and clean appartment.

Kris is a brilliant host, thoughtful, helpful and available to his guests. Communication was simple and quick. When I had questions before the stay I received quick responses which allowed me to plan accordingly. I was met with a warm greeting and much useful information. Kris loves his city and wants his guests to get the most out of Ghent.
The room was clean and light. The bathroom had good space and place. I particularly appreciate it when there is room for guests' toiletries.
A very comfortable and calm stay. Highly recommended!
Absolutely nothing.

The location was very convenient and the host (Kris) took the extra mile to ensure I would enjoy my stay!
Everything was exceptional!

Close to the train station, quiet, residential, easy walk to center
Bit of a steep climb to the room.

The beds, the breakfast and the host!!!

Great stay. Kris was exceptional as a host, making this a personalized experience - e.g. specifically preparing an awesome plant-based breakfast. Go here for the real BnB deal!

The BnB had everything that satisfies basic needs. Breakfast was excellent. Kris is the best host I’ve ever had and he provided lots of advices about how to discover Ghent.
I would have given Su’ro 6/5 stars if being allowed.
4.8
The host gave us a free upgrade since the other room was not booked and it was bigger. Also, he came to pick us up from the airport and drove us to the city center. The breakfast was very good. Lastly, the host provided us with a lot of information to explore Gent

The room is spacious and very bright thanks to the big velux windows. The shower is large and powerful.
I was able to telework comfortably for 2 weeks using the WiFi, with a plentiful supply of good coffee. For the continental breakfast, there is a wide selection (including freshly squeezed orange juice). There was also space inside to store my bicycle.
Kris was the perfect host, always happy to go above and beyond to make my stay more pleasant. I had just moved to Gent and Kris offered invaluable help and advice on a range of topics.
I will certainly be recommending Su’ro B&B to my friends and family who visit me here, and of course to anyone else who reads this. If you’re lucky, you may get to try some of Kris’ amazing homemade frietjes!
4.8
Everything, especially Kris hospitality, rich breakfast, the cleanliness, the way we feel home there.
Nothing.

The location of Suro apartments is very convenient. There is a good Supermarket Proxy and a big park nearby. You can easily reach the city center by foot. I stayed in a Sylvia room. It is quite big. The matress is comfortable, and the radiator is big. Also there is a large well-equipped kitchen which you can use on the 1st floor. Breakfast was always tasty and nutritious. Moreover there is a cozy quiet garden with a big table. Perfect for a lunch or dinner. There is a beautiful view from the garden on a church. The owner of Suro is a very nice man. I have never met such a welcoming owner before, I've travelled a lot though. Kris is friendly, helpful and kind. He is well educated and knows everything about Ghent. Kris met me at the airport and welcomed me warmly. I am very grateful to him for helping me with my luggage and helping me to get to know Ghent. I dont know what I'd do if it wasn't for him. To sum up, Suro is a great choice for both business trips and travelling.

Kris was super kind, extremely helpful and very knowledgeable when it comes to the history of Gent. He made the whole place warm, interesting and comfortable that I immediately felt like home upon arrival, also the breakfast was amazing. I was very very lucky to get to stay at the incredible Su'ro BnB, my journey couldn't be better. Best. Experience. Ever!!
