It was lovely to see so many original parts, and the cottage is in excellent condition.
We loved the location, and the little sitting room was lovely to recuperate at the end of the day.
If you're not a fan of super soft pillows I'd definitely recommend bringing your own. I missed my memory foam pillow for the weekend. But otherwise absolutely cannot fault anything.

The open fire was lovely to sit by and enjoy a red wine at the end of the day
No laundry was a little disappointing, didn't think to check that when booking

An easy 1km walk to the centre of town.
Clean and comfy 1874 little cottage with character, good open fireplace, comfy bed and lounges and good bathroom and kitchen.
There was lots of firewood supplied but no small axe to cut smaller pieces to get the fire built up on the second night - so the 6 firestarters supplied for 2 nights was not enough and we had to go and buy more firestarters from Woolies after trying for some time to get the fire to keep burning.
We'd suggest supply more firestarters and a small axe or log splitter or more small firewood.
Once the fire was going well it was a great fireplace.
Thanks 😊

location was excellent, close to everything
The timber for the indoor fire was damp and had trouble keeping the fire going.

very convenient to everything in Stanthorpe and the inside is very well done. It looks like a basic workers cottage from the outside but inside they have done a good job to make it look lovely. The little soaps from Washpool were a nice touch. Also having the reverse cycle air cons in the bedroom made for a very warm and cosy night. And all the firewood was supplies as well.

The owner provided robes and very nice toiletries. The beds were very comfortable. We used the house as base to visit Ballendean winery for the cheese platter and wine tasting, and then Garraween National Park the next day. We also walked to Sentimental Rocks. Stanthorpe is a good location for visiting the local wineries and nearby national park. It is easy to walk into Stanthorpe from the house. I believe the house was built in the 1800s and so some of the facilities were a little on the basic side, but a lot of previous Australian visitors had found the house charming and a unique place to stay.
We found the road to be quite noisy and a neighbour played loud techno from 5.30 am, which is not the owner's fault but was disruptive to a night's sleep!

Being self contained allowed us to go at our pace. It was easy to locate the property and the keys. Basic provisions provided for in kitchen, bathroom and fireplace. As well a variety of guides and in-house leisure activities (books, dvds, board games).

Close to shops, good morning walk
Comfortable lounge suite
Concerns re the shower in the bath
We bought a nonslip mat for the bath as it felt a little slippery
Would have been helpful to have a broom as we were walking in grass clippings and the vacuum was struggling

this cottage was lovely comfortable and spacious and beautifully decorated.
The only problem was the fire. we found it very difficult to light the fire and think the wood must have been green. it did spoil it a bit for us as we wanted to have a cosy fire.

The cottage was only a short walk to the RSL club, which had great food. Very central to everything too. The fireplace was an added bonus, took a lot of wood to warm the room up though. The Washpool soap was a lovely addition, smelt beautiful.
There was nothing we didn't like about the cottage. It was very well equipped and had everything we needed.

Cottage was clean and beds comfy. Fire place was great but not efficient heating.
There was no tea towel in the kitchen. I thought a box of tissues would be a nice touch.

Everything was fabulous. Warm and cosy in the middle of winter. Fireplace was lovely to have and beds were very comfy.
Walking distance to town and easy drive to wineries, National Parks an everything else.
