This elegant home has a fantastic location in hip Chueca with its boutiques, bookshops and vibrant gay scene. There's plenty to keep culture vultures happy here too. Fascinating museums to visit include the Museo del Romanticismo, a seven-minute stroll away and the Museo de Cera (eleven minutes on foot). It's the same walking distance to Sociedad General de Autores y Editores, an excellent example of Modernisme architecture. Or head to Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza with its masterpieces by Caravaggio, Van Gogh and Lichtenstein, a fifteen-minute walk. After a busy day, have a pit stop at one of the cafes on Plaza de Chueca, named after Spanish composer and author Federico Chueca, a two-minute wander from this apartment. Inside, we love the characterful wooden beams that separate the living space from the dining area. Plants, vases of flowers and modern artworks create a homely vibe, while two sets of French doors opening to Juliet balconies allow light to flood in. Whip up a tortilla de patatas in the sleek, white kitchen or enjoy a coffee at the breakfast bar.
