About this apartment rental
We're into the Scandi-inspired interiors of this Old Town apartment, but we love its location even more. Placed just a stone's throw from the Royal Mile, it's hard to imagine a better setting.
Walk in the footsteps of Scotland's kings and queens with a visit to Edinburgh Castle (six minutes on foot). Marvel at the natural history wonders of Scotland at the National Museum, just across the street. Then see mother nature up close and personal with a hike up Edinburgh's volcano, Arthur's Seat (forty-minute walk) - the views over the city are awe-inspiring.
When thoughts turn to food, you'll be well fed and watered in historical Grassmarket (five minutes on foot). The broad, open square is lined with buzzy restaurants and bars, including the city's oldest pub for a wee whiskey dram or three.
Back at home, you'll find this apartment housed in a handsome neoclassical building of high and might proportions. While the giant windows and lofty ceilings remain, everywhere else is reimagined for modern living, with mid-century-inspired furniture and house plants creating a homey feel. By day, curl up on the sofa with a freshly brewed coffee and soak up charming views of the neighbouring church. By night, draw the blinds and hunker down with a good book or a film – the statement lighting creates a lovely ambience.
Home truths:
*The apartment is located on the first floor and there’s no lift here, so expect to walk up one flight of stairs *There is a bar nearby so there is potential for noise (particularly at the weekend) – your host can provide ear plugs *The bedroom curtains here don't fully block out the sunlight – if you're hoping to enjoy a lie-in, your host will provide an eye mask *This is a much-used home and so shows some signs of wear and tear *Your host provides a starter supply of coffee, but you might want to bring your own to top this up *You’ll check yourself into this property with an entry code system (no keys required) *This home is not suitable for children and infants *You’ll share an entrance to the apartment building
