This property is so cute! And the views are beautiful! The sunrise is worth getting up for! The property owner is great with communication and very nice. The fishing off the dock was great and will for sure be back again!

This place was amazing and we would definitely stay again! The property is very clean and you can't beat the view! We loved hanging out on the back patio in front of the fire table watching all of the boats go by on the river.

This is a perfect spot for 2 people to enjoy quiet time with the gorgeous river views. We loved sitting outside on the patio and enjoying view, watching the barges on the river and fishing from the dock. Nearby La Crosse Wisconsin had hiking and shopping and restaurants as well as the local restaurants in Brownsville. Would recommend for a couple getaway for sure.

This property is beautiful and right on the Mississippi River. The views were amazing and I bet it is beautiful with the fall colors. This would make a great place to stay for a visit the University of LaCross or just to get away.

We loved the location right on the river! The most beautiful views and sunrises in the morning. Lots of boat action to watch also. House was great, clean, simple and stocked with all the essentials. We stopped at the gas station a few times and it was very cute and the people were very friendly. Saxon Hall had the best pizza and entertaining atmosphere. We definitely recommend this place to stay if you looking for a relaxing yet entertaining stay.

This property is definitely a couples romantic retreat! Both the sunrises in the morning and the moon glistening on the river at night were quit spectacular! We didn’t have a lot of time to sit in the back and enjoy the views, or fish from the dock but both were available. The property was clean, smartly decorated and the place was quiet and peaceful. Entertainment, good restaurants and marinas close by. Would highly recommend!

The view of the Mississippi River is spectacular! It feels like you're in the water as the home has a ramp right off of the patio leading down to the river. Accommodations were very nice with a comfortable sofa, nice pub table & chairs, and a comfortable mattress on the king-sized bed.
Kitchen was well-stocked with dishes and cookware. Towels were thick and soft; unlike some VRBO,'s with thin, well-used linens and towels. Washer/dryer, ice maker, outdoor gas firepit, and thickly padded deck furniture were all pluses. This is a great place to stay!

My husband and myself spent the week at the cabin and enjoyed the waterfront view with private deck! Everything was as described and Cathy was a gem!!! We spent our time between the water and near by attractions! High stars for this cabin! Thank you Cathy!

This was an excellent alternative to any hotels in the area. My wife and I were visiting to explore the area in terms of La Crosse, local bike trails and the local fair. The accommodations were everything we desired for our stay, providing comfort as we recharged between morning and evening adventures. Having a nice dinner in La Crosse and then retreating to a quiet riverside house was excellent. I did have some luck fishing off the pier. We spent plenty of time out on the back porch relaxing, watching the river activity, reading, etc. Overall a lovely stay we would like to revisit in the future.

This little house was perfectly clean and appointed. Our host, Cathy, was very responsive to our questions. She had the patio cushions out for us and the house cool when we arrived.
We brought a fishing boat with us. The Wildcat Landing boat launch was super close and we easily docked our boat at the floating pier for the week. We enjoyed fishing in various parts of the river, but actually caught the most right off the dock. Cathy even has a fish cleaning area in the garage, and she took care of the fish guts for us.
Afternoons on the patio were perfectly shaded, so enjoying the gorgeous view with an evening cocktail was very comfortable.
LaCrosse is only 20 minutes away and a very nice city to wander. We plan to be back sometime next summer.

The place is really cool. It is exactly as pictured, but the pictures do not do it justice!!! The place was VERY clean and fresh. It's a perfect get-away for two, or a small family. Great layout, and peaceful location.
Pro-tip #1: The food at Shellhorn Bar and Grill is excellent bar-food, but note they are only open Thursday-Saturday. The Marina to the north is ok and twice the price. The live music might be an attraction, but we missed it.
Pro-tip #2: Take a drive down to Lancing Iowa, cute little river town. Make it a loop over to the Wisconsin side and back around, nice little afternoon trip.
Owner was very attentive at check-in, check-out, and throughout our stay. Top notch!

Pros: updated and clean, nicely decorated, private dock, has most kitchen items to cook on your own, easy to find, lots of boats and barges to watch, Cathy was very friendly and responsive, proximity to LaCrosse for restaurants, scenic drive to Brownsville
Cons: tons of mosquitos at night making it impossible to sit outside, not much to do for a family (would be great for a couple), no privacy from the patio on one side and the neighbors seem a little annoyed to live by a vacation property

Get up early and take in the sunrise over the river from the dock, you won't be disappointed. The ramp going down to the dock is a little steep but very sturdy and wasn't slippery even in the early morning dew.

Adorable and Affordable
This home is literally right on the river and was impeccably clean! It never felt cramped or crowded and the decor is relaxing and not cluttered, adding to the feeling of spaciousness. It's in a great location to enjoy the morning and afternoon sun on the cute patio. It was fun to watch the barges go by. We also got to see a turtle lay eggs right in the yard between the houses! We did not disturb the little lady, but it was so cool to see. The kitchen is well-stocked with all utensils and pots and pans to cook meals as well as detergent, paper towels and garbage bags. The bedroom is spacious and the bed comfy. Plenty of fluffy towels and loved the soap dispensers in the shower for convenience. We walked to both Saxon Pub (amazing pizza and wings with affordable drinks) as well as Wildcat Saloon. Another plus was the strong wifi because both myself and my partner needed to work during our week on the river and the AC kept up with the awful heat and humidity. Cathy was quick to respond and answer any questions. Definitely a 5-star stay and 5-star host.
NOTES: The house is located right by train tracks, which didn't bother us at all because we come from an area with trains. There is a small convenience store across the highway, but we did bring the major foods with us knowing selection would be limited for any specific meals we wanted. We did go in to LaCrosse for dinner one night and it was easy to get to and from the historic downtown district right from the bridge, which was also a plus! There's no dishwasher, which again was not an issue since there was only two of us and we brought paper plates and cups.
