With its double-height beamed ceilings, wood floors, cool contemporary furnishings and large windows, this beautiful apartment right across from Porto’s scenic Praça da República is a treat for those looking for a sunny, serene stay. We love the casual grandeur of the open-plan living area with its tall rustic ceiling, as well as the glass doors that slide open to reveal a large balcony equipped with a table and chairs. Start your days off here over fresh pastéis de nata and coffee while taking in the wide-sweeping views over the city’s rooftops or gather here at sundown to watch the sky turn shades of amber and pink. The sleek kitchen is all set to whip up homemade feasts to be enjoyed at the dining table, while the two bedrooms – one of which is cocooned beneath the eaves – offer a wonderfully peaceful night’s sleep. When you’re not spending time in your stylish pad, go out and explore the sights. You’re a ten-minute walk from the beautiful Igreja do Carmo, a twenty-minute stroll from Porto Cathedral, while bustling Cais da Ribeira – right on the Douro River – is thirty minutes away on foot. Home truths: *While there's a lift in the building, you'll need to climb a flight of stairs to access it on the first floor *This home is laid out over two floors with internal stairs leading to the mezzanine bedroom *At capacity, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room – please request use of the sofa bed in advance *There's a laptop-friendly workspace *If you require luggage storage, please let your host know in advance *You'll receive an in-person check-in *Your host may be able to accommodate a later check-out time if there is availability to do so *The building's entrance is communal *We recommend skipping the car here and using Porto's public transport instead – Trindade station is a six-minute walk away
