First time in the area. We loved the cottage (very clean and well furnished) & the camping (small & quiet, great heated pool & nice location on the lake). Not far from amazing spots to discover (Sauble beach, Tobermory). We had a wonderful time and definitely recommend the cottage to everyone.

Overall it was an OK stay at this cottage at Oliphant Family Campground. Just a few things to mention: The floor was very dirty when we arrived, my crawling baby had black hands and knees which was gross. The king bed is annoying because the top mattresses shift all the time, and the outdoor chairs where unusable because the green layer was very weathered and was coming off onto our clothes. Other than those things, everything else was really nice.

This property needs some serious updating.
The ‘heated’ pool was not and in desperate need of a repaint (peeling). Was pet-friendly but many large dogs of the seasonal residents were not leashed and would run out a you. Loud talking of near by campers into the early morning hours was extremely frustrating. Had to pay the full amount of our stay upfront—most rentals ask for a deposit and the remainder due upon check in. We ended up leaving this property two days early (of a five night stay) as we were not happy.

This cabin was clean, cozy and comfortable. It has had a lot of recent upgrades: granite counters, luxury vinyl flooring, new cabinets and windows, a new shower. The hosts welcomed us with a nice bottle of wine and a very nice note with their cell numbers. Shower had good pressure, was hot, drained well and was tall enough. The kitchen was well equipped and had new appliances. The campground is very well maintained and I really liked the white cedar privacy hedges between campsites. It was pet friendly which is very important to me. The bath towels were fluffy and big. I recommend bringing your own wash cloths (none were provided), extra hand towels and extra kitchen towels. We always bring extra towels to use on the dog. We could not get the TV to work but that was ok as we actually talked to each other! There was poison ivy near the cabin so we put an outdoor footstool over it so no one got near it. The campground is a mile or so off the main road and 10 mins from Sauble Beach, 30 mins from Lion's Head and an hour from Tobermory. We did not go in Spry Lake but I think it would be really nice to paddle around in warmer weather. It was a very pleasant place to stay.

Our experience at Oliphant Family Campground was wonderful! Cleanliness is always high on my checklist and our cottage was pristine! The fresh cut flowers in each room were a welcoming touch; as was the bottle of wine. The pool and grounds were well kept and enjoyable. No fault of the owners, but Wi-Fi is sketchy…bring a global hotspot if concerned. Thanks for a great time!

Owners are very friendly and very quick to reply to questions I had prior to booking. Cottage was very clean.
Lots of cute little decorations in every room to make it feel homely. Fresh flowers in all the rooms when we arrived. Extra blankets were appreciated at night...so was the A/C during hot days. Everyone had a great time. Including our dog. Cottage was perfect. Yard was perfect. 25" runner leash was perfect to keep my dog happy and safe from the firepit. Loved having a fire in the evening. Logs for firepit sold on the property is excellent value for your money.
