Our host has done a outstanding job of making this property a perfect blend of comfort and charm. This was our base during our time in Ft Davis area. It had all we needed and so much more. It felt like every detail to the property was well thought out with the comfort of the guests in mind. As soon as you walk in each room you further into this comfortable atmosphere. So many little touches though out the house brought so much to the magic of this place. The porches were so great for watching nature at its best, both front screened with rockers and calming wind chimes to the back porch with breathtaking views. Each day it was a pleasure to come back , unwind from our day. With a full kitchen it was easy to prepare our meals and pack our cooler for the day of adventure. Thank you to our Host we loved our stay and our time in the area.

Well appointed home in Fort Davis, 2 minutes from town but feels very secluded. Wonderful antique furnishings and great kitchen. 25 minutes to McDonald Observatory and 30 minutes to Balmorhea State Park (don’t skip this swimming hole, it’s awesome!). Quaint, quiet and secluded, don’t miss out on this place!

We were pleasantly surprised how beautiful this home was …… line shack wasn’t new term for us . But it was amazing . So glad we got to stay there . Beautiful bathrooms and great places to watch the sun rise and set .

We loved our stay at Judy’s line camp! It was perfect after a four day stay in Big Bend to have a nice place to recoup from the schedule of vacay! We chilled and enjoyed watching the horses and cows and oh my…the view from the back porch was spectacular. Very peaceful!

This is a great cozy house tucked in the mountains. Very clean and comfortable. We had a great stay and enjoyed the Mountain View’s and the horses on the property. Would definitely stay here again!

We loved this charming house! We found everything we needed during our stay. The patio was lovely to sit outside and enjoy the view, horses and cattle. Stargazing does not disappoint out here. Amazing dark skies! This is a great location and we enjoyed all the cozy aspects to this home. Super fast communication with the owner. Definitely would stay here again.

Perfect location for our family of 4. Check in/check out process was a breeze! Communication was great and fast response. No issues with the property. Comfortable beds. Beautiful views. Kids loved the horses. Everything we needed and more!!

We simply loved our stay at Judy’s Line Shack. The views of the West TX landscape, which we so love, were amazing. The peacefully grazing horses made it even more wonderful. The home is delightfully decorated, and we had everything we need. We have been to Ft. Davis many times over the years, and we are so happy to have found Judy’s Line Shack for our future visits! Thank you Jennifer, for this delightful get-away!

House is beautiful. Furnished beautifully. Location is very quiet and peaceful. If there is a negative the internet runs at about 5mbps. No gaming available. Everything else was wonderful!

We rented Judy's Line Shack in Ft. Davis, Texas as a key part of our 40th wedding anniversary and loved it! The home is delightful with big windows, gorgeous mountain views and a big screened porch to enjoy the breeze. The Davis Mountains, McDonald Observatory and Madeira Canyon have long been favorites ours offering awesome star gazing. It was wonderful to have such a nice home as our base. We highly recommend it! Great place to stay when visiting the McDonald Observatory, Davis Mountain State Park, Fort Davis and the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center. Nice kitchen for meal prep, wonderful front porch and great back patio for star gazing.

Nice home well maintained. The best part is you are out in the boonies where when it gets dark the night sky just illuminates with all the stars. I’m brought my telescope and the location having no light pollution you could really see a lot of astronomical objects!

Stayed at the property for a weekend. Arrived Friday evening and the sunset is amazing. We spent most of our time here on the back deck. Beautiful views of the mountains during the day and the stars at night. Close to town to grab groceries or dinner. We will remember this house for our next trip to Fort Davis.

Beautiful views from the back porch. Comfortable unit. It was really nice to find things like mustard and jam in the fridge and a good supply of things like salt, pepper, and coffee filters. The only hiccup was the propane in the grill was almost empty and when I texted the owner about getting some more, there was no reply. So we had to broil our chicken instead of grilling it. No big deal. We will be back for sure.

What a fantastic stay! The property is perfect and we enjoyed all the thoughtful little extras. We visited Fort Davis to be close to Balmorhea springs and the McDonald Observatory, and this location was perfect. Quiet, peaceful, with incredible West Texas landscapes.

Last minute trip to Ft. Davis area and the McDonald Observatory before my son went back to college. Found this super cute house, and was delighted to find it had all the comforts (and more) of home. Jennifer thought of everything when it came to furnishing the house. Very comfortable beds, every necessity needed in the kitchen, and the screened front porch was perfect for relaxing. The sweet mare and her colt were definitely an added bonus. Perfect location for visiting the McDonald Observatory, the Ft Davis Historic Site, and the Ft Davis State Park. Only about 20 minutes from Marfa where we found, The Rock Shop. We would definitely stay here again should we decide to visit this area again.

This home is absolutely lovely and has all the comforts of home plus an incredible view. We wanted to do something special for my brother-in-law who has stage 4 lung cancer and just stopped chemo. I found this lovely home on VRBO and knew it would be perfect for a long weekend. Walking into the huge screened porch on the front of the house was so welcoming. As we walked into the house, we immediately felt at home. So much charm and character and beautiful views from the large windows in the living room. The furniture was so comfortable and inviting. French doors lead out to a lovely patio area where we spent alot of time watching a mama and baby horse run through the expansive land. Our first night there we were first greeted with a much welcomed thunderstorm and then a double rainbow that crossed from land to land. We took it as a sign that this was where we were meant to be. We loved cooking in the fully stocked kitchen and watching the birds from the kitchen window with another amazing view. The beds were super comfy which is very important when you're away from home. We were also super close to town - just a few blocks. We couldn't ask for a more perfect place to stay in Fort Davis.

Everything about our stay here was perfect!! From accommodations, comfort, ease, views, communication, everything was delightful!! My husband and our 3 year old came to Ft. Davis for a relaxing weekend and this house helped provide exactly that. The house was perfect for us and was a home away from home. Th we beds were incredibly comfortable, the space was perfect for our daughter to play and the views were amazing!! We had coffee outside every morning and got to enjoy the view of the mountains, the horses and some cool birds. The owners were incredibly nice and easy to communicate with. They even allowed our our little to pet their mama and new baby horse!! We loved that!!! They also provided bottled waters for us which was a nice treat. They had everything we needed away from home. We will definitely be back for another relaxing getaway!!
