About this cottage rental
Perfect for that romantic escape, this cosy cottage on the edge of Dartmoor has a pretty garden and stream and is within walking distance to the moors and easy access to the coast.. Ground Floor:
Open plan living space.
Living area: With Freeview TV.
Dining area.
Kitchen area: With induction hob, combi microwave/oven/grill, slow cooker, air fryer and fridge.
First Floor:
Bedroom area (limited headroom): Galleried with double bed and en-suite with shower cubicle and toilet.. Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels. Garden with sitting-out area, garden furniture and barbecue. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: No children or infants under 6 years old. There is an unfenced stream in the grounds.. Full of charm, The Old Fire Station is cute and compact and has a cosy open plan kitchen and living area with a small dining table. Set within a peaceful location down a quiet lane, yet within a minutes’ walk of Ivybridge town centre, this cottage is perfect for relaxing and recharging your energy levels. On the warmer days, make the most of the sunny garden to the side of the cottage which lies next to a bubbling stream and with a bistro table and chairs and a charcoal barbecue. An ideal spot for an al fresco meal or a refreshing beverage.
Heading up to the first floor, you will find a beautifully furnished bedroom with a double bed. Guests should be aware that there are sloping ceilings upstairs, so the height is limited.
Ivybridge is known as the Gateway to the Moors and is set in one of the most beautiful areas of Devon. Provides the perfect base from which to explore the county’s glorious coast and countryside. There are many beaches, all approximately half an hour’s drive away, including Mothecombe, Bantham, Bigbury and Wembury. Plymouth city centre is 12 miles away with its historical Barbican and Hoe, as well as theatres, cinemas, bowling, pubs, restaurants, concert hall, ice skating, aquarium, ski slope and night clubs. Ivybridge itself offers a great local shopping experience, with a variety of independent shops in the compact town centre making browsing a pleasure and there is also a cinema, leisure centre and tennis courts. When it’s time for a break, take your pick from the many cafés, tearooms and bakeries in the covered arcade serving delicious food and treats to help you recharge your batteries. There is also a railway station and bus route to Totnes, Paignton, Torquay, Exeter and Plymouth.
For walkers, this is a perfect spot with direct access to the open moorland of Dartmoor and the Two Moors Way footpath which starts in Ivybridge, and the River Erme valley is also very beautiful. Ideally located to explore the 368 square miles of rolling hills, rugged granite outcrops and fresh, clean air. For something more relaxing, the village of Bigbury-on-Sea is 11 miles south of the property and has a stunning sandy beach, with access to Burgh Island at low tide. Other nearby attractions and places of interest in the area include Exeter, famed for its stunning cathedral and shopping, Woodlands Adventure Park, Paignton Zoo, Dartmouth Steam Railway, Torre Abbey and numerous National Trust properties. The Old Fire Station is the perfect choice for a truly memorable holiday. Guests should be aware that there is an unfenced stream just 5 metres outside the property and that there is electric vehicle charging available only in the village (insurance precludes charging at the property itself).
