About this house rental
Halls Gap Hideaway is a cosy, romantic, bushland retreat with a vintage vibe, in the heart of the Grampians.
The house is nestled amongst the trees, so you have beautiful views from every window, as well as frequent sightings of the abundant wildlife surrounding Hideaway. Expect daily visits from friendly parrots and kookaburras whilst you sit amid the treetops on the balcony.
Hideaway has a large open living area with sofa and comfy armchairs that easily accommodate 4 people, and a separate dining area with table and 6 chairs. Real wood fire. There is an inverter that heats up or cools down the place as needed. The TV shows terrestrial channels, plus there is a large selection of newer, cult & classic DVDs, and a record player with range of LPs.
There is a full kitchen with ample plates, bowls, cups, wine & water glasses, serve ware, pots, pans and utensils and well functioning electric cooker & microwave. All the equipment you need to make a nice dinner at home. Delonghi espresso coffee maker with built-in milk frother for your morning flat white.
Bathroom with walk in shower, washing machine, and spa bath with forest views.
Two cosy bedrooms with queen beds, small wardrobes, high quality linens, and the occasional kangaroo-sighting from your bed! The bedrooms are separated by a fairly thin wall, so suits those travelling together who are comfortable in close quarters.
There are two outdoor spaces to soak up all that nature: a balcony at the front with outdoor lounge chairs, high in the treetops with views over to Boronia Peak. A perfect spot for a sundowner with the birds or for stargazing.
And two lounge chairs on the back deck, which backs directly onto the National Park, making you feel like you are deep in the forest as you sip your morning coffee.
Hideaway is not a place of all-mod-cons: it doesn’t have wifi or a dishwasher - it’s a place designed for unplugging. It has old-school eco-friendly architecture. Big windows framing big views. It’s filled with vintage art and furniture, good movies on DVD, jigsaw puzzles, classic vinyl, proper coffee, and good cookware. Above all a sense of tranquility.
Hideaway is peaceful and secluded, but just a 20 minute tree-lined stroll or 4 minute drive to all the restaurants, cafes, visitors information, general store, swimming pool, and shops of Halls Gap.
