Basic place with parking and reasonable price. Clean room and walkable to most downtown spots
4.0
Great location right downtown and walkable distance to everything. Parking was free which was a bonus to not have to drive around downtown.
The hotel is old and very basic, don't expect any updates. You get what you pay for. However, the room wa clean and we experienced no issues and the check in staff was friendly.
If you're looking for a short stay that's convenient to downtown it's a good budget option.

Awesome downtown location and super affordable to stay with dog!

Super close to dining and shopping, walking distance to breweries.

We were looking for something close to the downtown area where we were seeing a show. This hotel was perfect! Walking into the room brought me back to my childhood roadtrips. The room was clean and cozy. The hotel has some aging and could use some TLC but it was perfect for our one night stay.

Too much drag racing noise of cars and motorcycles at night until 2 or 3am. Swimming pool wasn’t operating and no mention of this at time of booking. No extra blanket in the room if you got cold in the middle of the night, etc.

It was honestly a really great stay. The weekend was beautiful and we had a mountain facing room which made it even better. So much is within walking distance, it’s a very walkable city. The staff was friendly and patient and we had no problems. The elevator was a bit odd, but outside of that it was a wonderful place. We would absolutely stay here again.

Very clean and great location

Location is perfect for walking through Asheville and to RAD. Building is so old and in desperate need of upgrades. Don’t think we will stay there again.

It was nice and clean, great price and they make it easy to bring pet.

A quick overnight stay with my Mother and myself for a two day trip to the Biltmore. Very close and convenient and comfortable!

Not a bad place to stay at all.

Have stayed at this hotel over 10 times in the past 2 years. This is the first time I was asked for my companions ID (which I happened to have in my wallet b/c sh wasn’t carrying her purse) but it gave off a bad vibe. Like she was waiting in the car. It was just coincidental that I had it and I apparently couldn’t have checked in without it

Street noise between 10:00 pm and midnight was pretty bad. Had we known we would have requested a room on the pool side. Location and parking were outstanding! Price was good compared to other downtown locations.

Cozy and convenient

Day 1 was fairly quiet. We were in town for work. Not there much. Day 2 was insane! There was construction or something going on with massive loud banging from 4-10 pm right beside our room. The manager told us at 7 that they were wrapping up. As soon as the banging stopped from the construction, things got much worse. A guest was hurling off of the balcony for about an hour, people yelling and screaming at each other till after 2am. Fear not, housekeeping was eager to kick us out prior to checkout time. They did have a decent waffle per my husband. Never never never!!!!

We really liked the location as you can walk to a wide range of retail and restaurants. However, fair warning that this is a worn-out property and a renovation is sorely needed. The employees are not a happy bunch to the point of being surly. Sadly, this could be a gem in downtown Asheville but at the time just an unpolished rock.

It was close to downtown
Breakfast was minimal.

Great clean property walking distance from everything

The hotel was very old. I've seen reviews about renovations, but i didn't see any. It was clean enough and the staff was friendly. The hotel was extremely conveniently located. If you're looking for beautiful and shiny, this isn't your place, but if you're looking for convenience and a good price you've found it!

The staff at the front desk was very nice, very helpful and helping us determine which direction to head first. Easy access to downtown.

It is an older motel but they are doing renovations. Our room had not been renovated but very clean, everything worked. It's a great location in downtown and we slept just fine.

Clean room, stones throw to Asheville nightlife, perfect

Property was clean. It looked like it was undergoing a renovation. The room was clean, shower had great pressure, breakfast was good. Will like to see it when renovation is done.
One down side was the traffic noise. Weather was very cold. Windows were single paned and the inside of the window was iced over.

Fantastic location in downtown, great staff, nice room. The only downside is very limited parking at hotel. They have offsite parking very close but is very confusing if it’s your first time there.

Right in the mix and the inexpensive price means I can come back sooner then later! Would totally stay again and again.

In need of updates but surprisingly very clean.

I was worried that as an older property the condition and upkeep would be lacking. However, I was pleasantly surprised and would return for another stay.

Although the price was higher than I’d usually pu for a stay, the location was worth it alone!

Hotel is in a great location, we could walk to everything. Staff friendly and helpful. Note that the hotel is in need of updating and seems they are making strides in this area.

Perfect location, safe and clean

Older building in nice location. Parking was very tight so it would be very difficult with a large car. Staff did a nice job and were responsive to our needs.

Great location. Not a great experience with the night desk clerk. Front desk ladies the next day were super nice. Very clean. Would stay again.

Great location, friendly staff
This location is perfect downtown. We were able to walk everywhere. They even had dog treats for our fur baby at the front desk!

Great value and location
I've stayed at the downtown inn twice now, and although it is simple and no-frills, its location in the heart of downtown more than makes up for that. It's hard to find a better monetary value for a room anywhere in Asheville, let alone this close to the thick of things.
