About this house rental
Namesake of original owner Lena Bohannon, this home mixes vintage charm & modern comforts like fast internet & AC. Across from the visitor center in the heart of Luray, walk to coffee, breweries, thrift shops, & the famous Hawksbill Greenway. Space for 12 - invite family, friends, & pups too! Experience a historic home in a historic town, with everything you need to bring work with you & everything you need to leave it all behind. Host dinners, bachelor/bachelorette events, etc.
This spacious 1932 Craftsman home has plenty of room to gather friends and family, or simply getaway with someone special who appreciates historic homes.
Some unique features include raked mortar style masonry, the massive front porch for lounging, original glass front door, a butler's staircase, vintage Nutone doorbell, and wide trim throughout.
The living room and dining room are connected with beautiful French doors, creating one space for easy communing. Small gatherings are allowed; however, please keep in mind we comfortably accommodate 12 people overnight. Please let us know if you plan to host a small gathering.
We can easily accommodate 4 vehicles on site, and there is free parking nearby, including a spot with an EV charger at the visitor center.
Make music and memories during your stay. We have an extensive vinyl record collection that is almost 100% sourced from local small businesses. On the wall, you can find a guitar for strumming along to the classics, courtesy of Praise Guitars, located a 2 min walk from our front door. Like our vinyls, nearly all of our art and books came from small shops in Luray. Say hello to Jim if you stop by the local bookstore, and let him know Lindsey sent you!
Our board games are not locally sourced, but they are classic and quite lovely on our bookcase. There is ample room around the coffee table or in the dining table for a contentious game of Monopoly, Sorry!, Scrabble, etc.
Work from our home during the day and explore Shenandoah Valley on evenings and weekends. We have desks in each of the 3 rooms with king size beds. All 3 Roku TVs are easy to use for casting your laptop, so they can be used as a second monitor. Our internet service provider is Xfinity, providing fast reliable internet for all your important and not-so important zoom calls.
For sleeping, we offer 4 bedrooms. The downstairs bedroom has a twin daybed that converts into a king mattress - you can configure this room whichever way bests suits you and your guests. The first upstairs bedroom has a more firm memory foam bed. The second upstairs bedroom has a soft but supportive hybrid mattress. The third bedroom has two twin-over-full bunk beds, all outfitted with Purple brand mattresses, so they are comfortable for kids and adults alike.
There are two full bathrooms and one half bathroom - one full and one half bathroom downstairs, and one full bathroom upstairs. We keep a few handy items in the upstairs bathroom in case you forgot them at home. We have earplugs available in this closet for light sleepers - we are in town so there are noises that come with that. Note: the upstairs shower takes a minute or two to heat up. If you are in a rush, use the downstairs shower.
Dogs are welcome! We ask that you let us know a little bit about your pet guests when booking. If you selected a pet when your booking reservation you have already covered your pet fees. If you only added people to your reservation and need to add a pet to your reservation, please let us know, it's easy!
We are located in town, and with that come town noises. We provide a white noise machine in each bedroom, and ear plugs are available in our upstairs full bath. The in-town element is great during the winter - our home is on the alternate emergency route for the local hospital, so it is always cleared of snow very quickly!
You will have private access to the entire home, with 2 exceptions. The basement is used for storage only, as well as an unfinished bonus room upstairs. We have the doors to both of these spaces locked.
I am very responsive to messages and texts.

Our stay was great! We loved the location. We came to town to visit the Luray Caverns and Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah National Park. This house was a convenient drive to both. Loved that we could walk to restaurants and coffee shops. House was clean and comfortable for our group.

We went to Luray to see the caverns and celebrate our anniversary. We loved walking the Greenway, and the caverns were beautiful. The house was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. The hot tub was a plus and a great way to unwind from walking around all day. You must know that a train runs in front of the house at all hours and late into the night. Train noise and horns did not bother us, but if this will keep you up at night, just be aware. We had a great stay at this fantastic location.

Truly a lovely experience. We stayed here the night before our wedding and it was the perfect space for getting ready! Beds were incredibly comfortable, and it really felt like home. The hot tub was clean and well kept just like the rest of the house, and the location is incredible. Each room has adjustable A/C so everyone can be comfortable. We will absolutely be returning, and will be screaming a recommendation from the rooftops that everyone should stay here at least once. Thank you, Lindsey for an unforgettable and perfect experience.

Our family of five stayed here over Spring Break and absolutely loved it. The house is spacious and very well stocked. The kids loved their bunk rooms and the adults had plenty of space and privacy to themselves. So much so that we ordered takeout to come back to relax a few times!
The location is convenient and walkable to many of Luray’s shops and restaurants. This is a hidden gem!

The most comfortable beds I have ever slept in at a VRBO! The owners did a phenomenal job making this a comfortable place for people to gather. We were 3 friends, but you could easily host a couple of families in this property. We had everything we needed from kitchen basics to bedding and bath linens. The location was close to a walk to a few sights and an easy drive to the caverns and wineries.

The house is well appointed, the owners have thoughtfully provided everything you could need and the house is charming. We loved our time here and would definitely return. Walkable into town, right on the greenway. It’s just off the main road, very convenient. The only small factors are traffic noise from that road and the nearby train crossing and fire station. There are ear plugs for use, we didn’t have issues sleeping through it but some people may. Overall, we loved the house and everything was easy and lovely.

Without a doubt, one of the best places I have ever stayed. Everything was just as described and it was such a wonderful place to stay.
