About this cabin rental
Come escape to Blue Heron Cabin located on Watts Bar lake with private boat slip included (Seasonal water levels May - October)! This custom log cabin offers two bedrooms and two bathrooms and accommodates up to 8 guests. The screened in porch overlooks the quiet cove, just steps away from Watts Bar Lake. The home is centrally located, about an hour away from Knoxville and Chattanooga, and on the doorstep of the Great Smoky Mountains. Trade the noise of the city for the peace and quiet of nature along with a sky full of stars at night.
Blue Heron Cabin offers both solace in nature and a gateway to 72 miles of fun on Watts Bar Lake. Entering the house, you’ll notice the charm of the rustic log cabin. Inside the kitchen and living room, accented by wood walls throughout the upper level. Head through the glass doors in the living room and you’ll be immersed in nature within the screened in porch, complete with patio furniture and an outdoor table. The master bedroom is located upstairs with a queen bed and private bathroom.
Downstairs provides plenty of space for more relaxing with a sofa/sleeper, recliner, and twin day bed with trundle. The downstairs bedroom also boasts queen size bed. There is also a full bathroom with a tub and shower.
Outside, you’ll find a fire pit, porch swing, and plenty of peace and quiet. A path leads from the back porch to the boat slip (water at pier from April 15 thru November 1st). The dock provides plenty of space for swimming and fishing. Two kayaks are provided for your enjoyment. Boats can be rented from nearby Marinas, or you can bring your own boat and park it at the private dock!.

We came up Friday and stayed the whole weekend. Once we got there Friday afternoon, there was so much to do, that we literally never left again until Sunday at check out! We fished, kayaked, swam, grilled out, made s’mores in their rock fire pit, played board games they provided, and at night, we played hide and seek in dark. And they even allowed us to bring our furry family member, which really sold us on this place. We would absolutely stay here again and again! We’re only 2 hours away so we will definitely be back! Thank you for being apart of the memories we’re making with our kiddos.

The house was nice but the neighbors dogs ruined the experience. We couldn’t go outside without it sounding like there was about to be a blood bath. My dogs were terrified to even go outside to use the bathroom. I had to risk getting snake bit and walking them in the tall weeds behind the house in an attempt to get them to use the bathroom. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this house based on this.

This was a great property with everything we could need. The hosts provided plenty of towels, which was important with how close the lake is! There were a lot of spiders, but they seemed friendly.

The lake home on Watt’s Bar was very nice. The house is situated in a quiet cove. Everything was as described. Truly enjoyed our stay.

We had a great 2+ week vacation. The cabin is beautiful and as described. The owners are terrific and very responsive. Watts Bar Lake is a boater's paradise and we enjoyed swimming and fishing every day.

Beautiful and comfortable cabin with many amenities on a lovely, quiet cove of Watts Bar lake. The screened porch spans the back of the cabin, at a level with the tree branches - SPECTUALAR! We saw a mating pair of pileated woodpeckers create a hole in a tree for a nest. Within an hour's drive is beautiful and challenging hikes. We brought our dogs. Walking in the neighborhood was nice and safe. Dawn and Tim were great hosts, quick to respond or reach out.

It was a pre 50th Anniversary stay. So relaxing and calming. The dock and fire pit were fabulous. Everything we needed was there. My only wish is that it was closer to Gatlinburg. It was a haul to get out there but once back you appreciated the seclusion. Wonderful cabin on the calmest lake I have ever seen! Loved it but it was too short!

The house and owners provided everything required for an enjoyable stay. Having the boat dock was nice for going out on daily boat rides and exploring the lake. We enjoyed the screened in patio and the fire pit. Very peaceful and relaxing place to get away.

My girlfriend and I wanted to get away for a long weekend with our two dogs. This cabin was the perfect choice. It was both quiet and relaxing. If you have a boat, this would make for a great getaway. We also caught some nice bass off the dock. We'd definitely stay here again.

What a beautiful, well kept property. This was the perfect home to get away. It’s in a cove so the water is calm and ideal for kayaking. The screened in patio was ideal to enjoy the outdoors while keeping bugs out. Boat rental is 10 min away and also has a better than expected restaurant. August is hot and humid so if that’s an issue, another month might be better. Grocery store is a good 30 minutes out, so stock up before you get there.
Overall an outstanding property. I highly recommend.

Wonderful cabin located on a very private cove of Watts Bar Lake. We were only there for a midweek summer getaway (Mon-Fri), but totally enjoyed the break! The house is located on a very private street with little to no traffic. The beautiful cove is very quiet with hardly any/essentially no boat traffic even in July.The covered boat dock is nice(we don't have a boat) but we made use of the house kayaks. The house is up a short gradual hill from the dock so the house seems like its in the woods esp when sitting on the screened in porch. So nice, relaxing and private and with a great breeze that comes up from the lake! The house was spotlessly clean with no scent at all. Unusual to find, especially for a rental that allows dogs.
The nearby restaurants aren't open everyday (most Thurs-Sunday) but we brought groceries and food with us. Kitchen is well stocked with everything.
Lake cabin description and pictures are very accurate. Would definitely recommend the home and plan to rent again. Dawn&Tim live close by and are very easy to contact if needed. Great place!

We stayed at the Blue Heron Cabin for a week. It was calm, beautiful and idyllic. We brought our boat and took it out every day to explore the lake. What a wonderful time. On the week-days, it was quiet and serene. We loved it that the lake was not over-crowded with too many people. On the week-ends, it got busy - but still not too bad. The cabin was lovely. My favorite part of the day was having coffee in the screened in porch upstairs and looking out at the yard and the water. I could see deer walking by at random times in the day. Heavenly!

Had a great time at the cabin. Perfect for the family with two 13 yr old boys. Cabin was clean and well stocked. Boat dock and slip was a great fit for the Vexus Bass Boat. Fished every moring and evening with good results. Bass was hitting great. Thank you Tim and Dawn for a great stay!

Even though it rained the entire 5 day stay, we enjoyed our family time at this cabin. Very well stocked, clean, and the screened in porch was perfect for relaxing. The dock was perfect so the boys could take our boat out and fish between rain showers. There is a boat ramp nearby. The lake is full of bass and we had lots of success fishing. The only con is most restaurants are at least 30 minutes away. We did a Kroger pick-up and ate at the cabin most of the week. Lots of playing games and watching movies and making memories. Owner is very quick to respond to questions.

We truly enjoyed our stay. We were here to fish for a few days and wanted lake access with a covered boat dock with electric. The home was very welcoming and comfortable with all the comforts of home. Bed was very comfortable to sleep in and water pressure was great. There were inviting balconies and patios to enjoy the property but we spent most of our time in the water. The hosts were very quick to respond for any questions we had. Would definitely book again.

We really enjoyed our stay! It was a beautiful setting especially with the fall leaves. My husband enjoyed fishing from the dock and we took advantage of the kayacks. The screened in porch, and the fire pit were great. It was fun to count the number of deer we would see each day. Would love to return!
