The cottage was cosy and well equipped. We loved the log fire and the sumptuous beds.
One of the bedrooms was in the basement. However, the couple that slept in that bedroom were more than happy. It was a lovely room with a comfortable bed.

Great location adjacent to the best pubs in Matlock! Clean, comfortable, quiet and an ideal base for the great local walks. We will be back!
A couple of trays for eating off would have been appreciated.

Top of a long steep hill

It just felt comfortable, homely. Parking, whilst tight, was a bonus. Newsroom pub, Farmacy pub, and Blue Pig deli on the doorstep we're very handy.
Very comfy, large beds.
All very nice. Thank you Jo.
Nothing really.

Great location, very clean, good info booklet, modern bathroom, two nice little seating areas.
Lack of freezer box in fridge. You'd expect there to be somewhere to freeze food. Tree over hanging parking space dripped large amount of sticky yellow sap all over my car.. impossible to remove with soap and water. Had to take to garage for hot jet wash. Fortunately, it didn't ruin car. Just something to be aware of especially if parking there on hot summer day. On street parking limited but fortunately we were out till after 5.

location, great value for money.
steep stairs to cellar bedroom but then I suppose that’s part of the character of the cottage.

Location is five minutes drive from the centre of Matlock and is very well equipped and warm & cosy. Bars and cafes within easy walking distance. Lovely little park nearby
Although the parking was right next to the cottage, and we appreciate that this part of Matlock is on steep hills, the space was small and up a steep narrow driveway which is difficult to negotiate if the other space is taken. Therefore one has to reverse onto the street. A small car would probably be ok ( There is however plenty of parking on the roads around, which we used, and you can load and unload outside the cottages )

Great little cottage very clean lovely big bed. Location was fab as there were 2 real ale bars within a stones through. Steep back up the hill from the main town but you in the peak district.
Parking was a little tight but doable.

No problem at all, very straightforward. Was great to just rock up and get in with no hassle. The cottage was lovely and clean and in a great location. The views from the top of the hill were great and there were 2 great micro pubs within a 30 second walk, as well as a pizza restaurant.
The massive hills we had to walk in Matlock : )

Quaint little cottage, good location.
Enjoyed the visits to bakewell and Eyam.
No freezer in the cottage and the basement bedroom smells of damp.

Great to have outside space and cottage in a central location. Very comfortable with big bed in top bedroom. Good location for exploring the area. Everything we needed was there. Quiet location.
Not so much didn't like just to be aware of. There is a heck of a hill to get in and out of town if walking but there are buses. 1 of the bedrooms is in the cellar which was okay for my friend so I got the top room. Parking tight at property if you have a larger car but can park on road.

immaculate and cosy. A lovely box of biscuits left by our host and the beds were super sized and extremely comfortable
Although parking was off roadside it is a little small and on a very steep driveway.
the second bedroom is two flights of stairs from the toilet but is ok as long as you are not elderly.

Cosy cottage with quirky original features. Very clean and fresh with lovely comfortable beds and home comforts. The owner takes pride in their cottage as it looked freshly decorated and she left a box of biscuits on arrival! Great it had its own private parking in this location. Easy access to the surrounding National Park and a fantastic historic walk only a mile from the house.

Beautifully renovated, cosy cottage with everything needed for a self catering visit to the Derbyshire Dales. Located in the heart of Matlock, within easy access of bars and restaurants and only a short drive to stunning, scenic walks.

Character cottage. Handy location for exploring Derbyshire. Very clean. Comfortable main bedroom.
Could hear 'ordinary' noise from adjoined cottage. I didn't realise when I booked that the second bedroom was down some steep stone steps off the lounge. This was a slight problem due to age and mobility!

Great location and had everything we needed. Host was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely like to return again.

Clean cottage with very comfortable beds and lovely bed linen. Character features in the cottage were very nice and thought has gone into the decor
Not the cottage, but the location is up a steep hill from the town so not easy if you just want to pop into the shops and back.
