This elegant 1909 Dutch Colonial Boutique Hotel is situated on two acres of private grounds in the heart of Duluth's mansion district. Just minutes from extraordinary restaurants, shops, Canal Park, and the majestic Lake Superior shore line, this property has everything you're looking for. Contained within the sprawling two acres are a pergola, gazebo, hammock, and spacious veranda, allowing you to spread out and relax, as well as two electric vehicles chargers for your convenience.
This sun soaked 3rd floor walk up apartment has views the morning sunrise over the lake, and the evening sunset from the private deck. This apartment was originally 2 separate spaces, the ballroom where the kids would play during the day and the adults would gather in the evening and the living quarters for the "help". The 2 bedroom apartment boasts a large private deck with exceptional views, 2 king-size beds, one twin daybed in the living room, a kitchen stocked with your basic essentials, 2 fire places, Smart TV, refrigerator, microwave, and so much more. This room offers access to two acres of private grounds as well as the elegant yet comfortable common areas of the mansion.
Enjoy the benefits of our newest addition added January 2024, a custom built Heritage Cedar Sauna. Located in our backyard this Barrel Sauna can fit up to 4 people.
This property is intended for adult getaways, no persons under the age of 16 are permitted. Our guest service team is available by phone from 8am to 9pm if you have any questions or need anything.. Our direct contact information will be provided with your booking confirmation. The primary form of communication, including check in information, will be through the booking platform and/or email. You will receive your check in information at 3pm on your arrival date. Check in is at 4pm. Check out is 10am.

VACATION RENTAL HOUSE RULES
1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS a) All Guests (and any Visitors) must comply with all House Rules and any other instructions from the Property Manager during their stay; and b) Guests must notify the Property Manager of any disputes or complaints from neighbors as soon as reasonably practicable.
2. NOISE AND THE NEIGHBORHOOD a) This Vacation Rental is NOT suitable for children under the age of 16. b) Guests and Visitors must keep noise to a minimum as not to disturb the occupants of neighboring properties and rooms – especially during nighttime hours (10pm – 8am), and upon arrival and departure; c) Excessive noise is prohibited at all times and may result in termination of the vacation rental agreement, eviction, loss of rental paid and extra charges which may be deducted from the Security Deposit;
3. VISITORS a) Guests are allowed a maximum of 2 visitors at any time during their stay. b) Guests are responsible for ensuring maximum visitor numbers are not exceeded; and that visitors are complicit with these House Rules. c) Visitors of guests are not permitted during quiet hours of 10PM to 8AM out of respect and consideration of other guests.
4. FUNCTIONS a) Parties and large gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited at the Vacation Rental; and b) Any small gathering must comply with other rules set regarding Noise, the Neighborhood and Visitor numbers.
5. PARKING a) Guests and any visitors are to comply with parking regulations and other requirements set out below and show consideration to neighbors and other vehicles; please use the designated parking area, up the driveway along the right side of the house to the back of the property.
6. SECURITY a) Any time Guests leave the Vacation Rental, it is their responsibility to ensure all windows and doors are closed/locked to maintain security and prevent rain and water damage. b) Guests must switch off the lights, air conditioning, fans, electronics such as televisions when not in use to promote energy saving.
7. SMOKING a) Smoking is not permitted inside the Vacation Rental or on the private deck attached to the room; b) Smoking is permitted in the back parking lot next to the garage; c) Cigarette butts must be disposed of properly (in large trash cans located outside property or off property all together) and not thrown on property grounds. Failure to do so will result in a deduction from the security deposit.
8. PETS a) Pets are NOT permitted at the Vacation Rental;
9. DAMAGES AND BREAKAGES a) All Damages and Breakages must be reported to the Property Manager as soon as reasonably practicable. Failure to report them will likely result in a penalty deduction from the security deposit. And; b) To avoid Damages and Breakages, no furniture is to be moved from one room to another without prior agreement.
10. CHECK OUT ARRANGEMENTS a) Please be sure to lock all doors. Check out is at 10am - if you need a later checkout please contact me as soon as possible to make arrangements.
11. EMERGENCY CONTACT DETAILS: a) In the event of an emergency relating to the Vacation Rental, your emergency contact is: Heirloom Vacation Rentals (218)409-4885 b) In the event of all other emergencies please call 911.
12. COMPLIANCE a) Breach of any of these House Rules is a breach of the Terms and Conditions of occupancy as per the Rental Agreement. b) The Owner and Manager reserve the right to terminate permission to occupy and to evict from the Vacation Rental, any Guests or Visitors who refuse to follow these House Rules or who cause a nuisance to neighbors or other residents of the community.

The four of us have been to Duluth several times for a concert and usually stay in a hotel. We loved having this beautiful space to relax in after our daily adventures! Great location! Very nice, quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed the deck, sauna and views of the lake. There was a little deer family napping in the yard. We will be staying here again in the future!

The Ballroom Suite was absolutely fabulous & larger than we thought. Each room was comfy: the bedrooms were large; the bathroom had a shower & a wonderfully deep claw foot tub; the deck was perfect & had a great view of the best lake...Lake Superior; the bkfst pastries were delish. After days of site seeing it was a great place to kick off our shoes & relax. Also loved the books about the history of Duluth. Thank you for that. We will be back.

We enjoyed the residence very much. Loved the charm and history. We stayed in the Ballroom Suite and enjoyed mornings and evenings on the rooftop patio. Plenty of space for everyone. Very clean and comfortable. Great areas to be together and the area was quiet yet close to many Duluth attractions. Thank you for sharing it with us!

We are in town to play at a golf tournament and this was a location that was only a mile and a half from the golf course. It was comfortable clean and felt like home.

My sisters and I rented the ballroom suite for a short visit to Duluth. The heirloom agency was very responsive to messaging and solved all our concerns quickly.
As we drove up, we noticed that the appearance of the mansion was not as depicted in the listing. It is a bit rundown and the landscape was dry, with many plants dead or needing a trim. The gazebo and other outside areas were drab compared to the pictures online.
We had issues with several things in our unit, but all were taken care of by Heirloom properties quickly. They did also comp us one night stay for our troubles, which was a pleasant surprise. The pictures of the inside of ballroom suite were accurate! The suite itself is adorable and clean.

So thankful that we were able to experience a few nights in this mansion. The upstairs was a delight with the ability to have a kitchen and have snacks and drinks. We didn’t make any meals but the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pots and pans. Plenty of space hang out for us. The outdoor patio was really nice but note that the only way out there is through a tall narrow window in the kitchen. That was totally fine for our family but may be an issue for others. We would definitely return to this location if heading back to Duluth for a visit.

My college student daughter had surgery and I traveled up to Duluth to help with her recovery. This home offered a cozy, quiet place for us to rest and recover. It felt like home. We had beautiful weather to sit outside in the sun and read and rest. We enjoyed having Hulu and Netflix to watch a variety of shows during our stay. The room was so spacious and accommodating for our needs. And so very clean! No complaints; however if you don’t want to climb stairs the Ballroom Suite is not for you. We would have loved to have a DVD player for movies that we had. Also a separate recycling bin would have been useful. We used a separate bag so it wasn’t a big deal but maybe for future reservations. And further instructions on temperature control, if that is possible in this suite, would have been great. But we sat by the fire place a lot in the evening. I would stay here again anytime. The morning scones and muffins were really great! Thanks for a great extended stay with my daughter in Duluth!

This is a stunning property! Surprises at every turn. The beds are comfy but the pillows a bit stiff. The leather couch was so comfortable it could have been slept on. The claw foot tub was amazing. The secret balcony offered a beautiful view of Lake Superior!

A very nice place to stay and within a one hour drive to Jay Cook, Gooseberry Falls, split rock lighthouse and Wisconsin (Pattison and Amnicon) state parks.

It is a beautiful place. We spent a good portion of our time on the private balcony. You can see the lake through the trees and watch the sun coming up over the lake. If you turn to other side of the balcony you can catch the moon going down. You can watch the sunset too.
We had a problem with a window and someone was there in no time to fix it.
We had the whole third floor and it was wonderful but a lot of stairs if you have lungs that notice.

Enjoyable
Everything was pleasant. Bed was very comfortable, spacious kitchen. Comfortable couch. Nice patio, enjoyed sitting out there in the afternoons and mornings. Shower actually had good water pressure. Hoping to stay again sometime.
