About this house rental

Bee Branch Lodge (formally Sabbath House) is an 8 bedroom/8.5 bath lodge that sleeps 19-20. It is ideally suited for family reunions, group retreats, and small weddings. The 5,000 square foot lodge with 8 bedrooms is located in the Smoky Mountains, just outside of Bryson City, NC, Bee Branch Lodge is a unique retreat house that provides a peaceful environment where friends and family can truly reconnect with each other.

Lodge Information: The main portion of the lodge features a large, two-story gathering room with a stone wood burning fireplace, comfortable Mission style sofas and chairs, and dining tables and chairs for 16-20. The loft has a comfortable seating area and library. A covered porch with rocking chairs runs the full 155 foot length of the lodge, offering an ideal place to visit with friends and family and enjoy the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains. There is also an outdoor fire pit area with seating that provides a great place for making s'mores and enjoying the beautiful night sky unobstructed by the lights of the city.

Room Information: The lodge has eight individual bedrooms for your group, each with its own private bath. Each bedroom has its own private entrance from the front porch, that overlooks the Great Smoky Mountains. Five bedrooms have a set of twin beds, and three have both a twin and a full size bed. One bedrooms is handicapped accessible.

The Bee Branch Lodge driveway is located off a gravel road with steepness, 4-wheel or all-wheel drive is necessary.

No running water first 3 hours. They sent a plumber who go it fixed an hour or so later. However the well water uv filter was broken so no drinkable water the entire stay. Cleanliness was poor, mouse droppings, multiple places. Set up of property was good for a group, location was beautiful.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We very much enjoyed our stay at Sabbath House. It had everything we needed to host a small men’s retreat. Fully equipped kitchen, individually controlled AC in each bedroom, meeting, space, and beautiful views on the porch. The location was still convenient to the Nantahala gorge and other activities around Bryson City. We will definitely be back for more events. I recommend this location for anyone who wants to get away and rest.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This large 8 br, 8.5 bathroom is perfect for large groups. It has something for everyone. Huge deck with lots of rockers and amazing view and a big main room with well equipped kitchen. Downstairs was a great room with games, ping pong, etc that all the younger set enjoyed. Upstairs was a library for anyone who wants to get away from noise and confusion of large groups. All 8 bedrooms were roomy and comfortable. Can’t wait to go back. Don’t let the warning about the driveway scare you too much. Even a small Honda Fit made it up and down easily. Just drive slowly and don’t stop till you are at the top. It is so worth it.

There should have more of a disclaimer about how steep the road to this place is. It was not as clean as I would have expected. There were dirty diapers left in the garage can in the dining area and one of the rooms had sheets that had blood stains on them. The location (once you get to it) was perfect. The views were amazing and the solitude perfect. Sitting on the front porch in the rockers was a favorite pastime while we were here.

We found every spoon or cup we needed in the lovely kitchen. The driveway could be a challenge to someone without gravel road experience, and all of us came up the mountain without a problem.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First of all, the house was very spacious that accommodated our large group. The rooms were clean and basic necessities were provided like towels, tissue and soap. We enjoyed the view of the trees starting to show different colors and we were able to witness a beautiful sunrise. The adults and children also enjoyed the fire pit that was located on the side. We enjoyed having coffee while watching the beautiful scenery of trees on the mountain. The only downside was the way going up the house. the road is unpaved and if you don't have any experience driving up on an unpaved road with with some narrow turns, it would be a struggle. But Haley and his husband were very kind enough to drive our vehicles and helped us get familiar with the road by briefing us on the way up to the house. Overall, the house and its location are very nice. It is not just advisable to drive up and down in the dark.

Fabulous place for a group

Fabulous place for a group

Group spaces were wonderful for our large family reunion. Kitchen, family room and large deck allowed everyone to mingle easily for meals and group activities. Separate bedrooms were quiet and clean, qell supplied with good clean linens and towels Plenty of soace for kids to play within easy access of adults. The only real downside of this property is the very long steep narrow gravel driveway to get to the lodge. Would recommend NOT trying to go up or down that in the dark.
