The view
The bathroom has poodle of water in it.
The bed foam hangs over the concrete platform for the foam. The Foam is dirty when the covers came off and a bat flew out of the room at night. The boss doesn’t talk to his workers with respect, yells at them in front of guest. He is really unprofessional with his workers. This will be a wrong place to visit If you are allergic to cats. There are about 6 cats that come around you when you are trying to have your meal. My partner is afraid of cats so we have to eat in the bedroom every morning instead of enjoying the outside view from the dining area. There is an overhead platform by the dining area that is unsafe to be on top of, incase you want to go up there and dine. The wood on that patio is dry rotted and it’s wobbles when you are on top of it. My partner and I went up there to have a romantic breakfast but had to come back down from the fear of it collapsing. The view is the only thing good about this place but the overall safety, cleanliness and the bosses respect for his workers is poor.

the place is a real gem. the staff are very nice and go out of their way to make sure your stay is comfortable. super delicious meals (try groundnut curry with fish!!!), very big and clean rooms. ocean view. the property is right on the beach too. amazing hiking which I did on both days. very safe and the villagers are very nice. Greg the owner makes you feel very welcome and has lots of activities to offer including a trip to Turtle islands.

My daughter and I had the most lovely time at Daltons Banana Guesthouse. Greg is a great host who will do everything in front and behind the scenes to make your stay unforgettable. That counts for him and his friendly team. To feel nature around you but having the comfort of a room and bathroom, to enjoy the freshly caught fish at dinner, to have the possibility to do water sports with my teenager (we had a blast!) is why both of us want to come back as soon as possible.

The owner takes care of his guests. There is a possibility to practice the skuba diving, assisted by certified instructor and others aquatic activities.
Banana Island doesn't have the real long sandy beach as those than we can meet in Freetown.
In the rooms there is no electricity, excepted the light.
The electricity is exclusively in main bar, from 6 am to 5 pm.

The best thing about this place was the Greek owner. His hospitality was perfect, his talk was interesting and funny. I thought that was worth staying. Whenever there was a problem, he tried to improve them.
He practiced his saxophone and played the music from our country to celebrate my friend’s birthday. That was very sweet. The food was very nice also.
We stayed in the most expensive room but still, the water system in the shower and the toilet was not very good. The bathroom door was broken, the entrance door was hard to lock. I guess that’s too much to expect for a lodge in an island so it’s okay to spend just a night.
