This house was a great location and very nice! The only things would be that the porch was so dirty we couldn’t even use it, along with the kayaks. The hot-tub was also pretty dirty. The rooms were nice and beds were comfortable!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The kayaks were really fun and the setting was beautiful. It would be so amazing if they had firewood available for sale at the site but it was a minor inconvenience and we knew we should have picked it up earlier. This cottage is simple and does not come with many amenities but that was clear from the description. As long as you come prepared, it is a really wonderful spot. We definitely plan to visit again.

The cleanliness and location of the cabin were great!
My only recommendation would be to add a dish washer and blinds on the windows.
The host said there was a camera facing door, but it was located on the side of the house at the fire pit which made us slightly uncomfortable.
Overall, we had a fantastic weekend and would definitely go back.

The home was cozy but there were several issues that we had. There is not enough kitchen attire to accommodate a family making meals. There is no Tupperware for food storage, they barely provide enough dishes to serve a meal outside 1 of the 3 pot/pans you cooked it in. If you’re staying a few/several days you will want to bring Tupperware and dishes to prepare meals in. There were lots & lots of cob webs throughout the hom. Our bathroom hand soap was watered down! I went to use it and it literally sprayed all over my top! Under the couch and beds were debris/ dirt, m&m’s and chip crumbs from the last guests. The “bar” room off of the hot tub area was not even cleaned after previous guests. There was empty ice bags left in freezer, chips, straw wrappers and candy wrappers on floor, counter had dried drink spills and glass ring marks all over. The last group must of had a celebration there was confetti pieces all over the floor. The washer does NOT work. I am assuming because all the hoses are so jammed and kinked behind the washer/dryer in the very small laundry closet and the dryer vent is so pinched off that it vents into the house. Almost every kitchen chair was very wobbly, unfortunately we did not have an Allen wrench on us but we could hand tighten them so we could eat as a family at the table. Ceiling fan, exhaust fans pretty full of accumulated dust. The dvd player was broken along with the table top record player. The views were amazing and the pond was enjoyable.

The place was perfect, the view from the porch was spectacular, Hocking Hills was very close. The road in was a bit treacherous and the upstairs loft was a bit warm compared to the lower level. Very clean. Hot tub wasn’t as clean as expected but we used it. Fire pit was wonderful.

Perfect location. We enjoyed our time on site so much that, we never went to our normal Hocking Hills landmarks.

Suggestions it would be good to have a coat rack at the back door, hangers in the bedrooms. There was no washer or dryer. I also did not see an Iron or ironing board.

we rented this property and really looked forward to an exciting weekend full of relaxation. the house was very nice and had everything we needed. the only thing to complain about would be the vent noise. while falling asleep it was almost impossible to block out the constant sound of the vent cracking. i thought there was tapping on my window all night, i woke up from it and just overall had a rough time sleeping. i also brought a bedside fan and had it on high but the constant tapping was very hard to ignore. sleeping in the basement and the house itself had an eerie feeling because there are no blinds and it is right off of a road. we would stay again but maybe recommend some curtains or blinds.

Arriving, you have to drive up a pothole filled road.
“spotty internet” is incorrect, there was absolutely no internet to look up the code again or even the internet information. We had to drive a good 10 minutes down a road just to load anything.
Not fully stocked kitchen. Only pots and pans, nothing more.
Brand new home with no blinds or curtains on most of the windows (living room, bathroom and the entryway has a large open door, looking straight into the living area, this can be uncomfortable at night), privacy was a huge concern for us and we felt uncomfortable as soon as we walked into the home.
not a homey feeling at all but instead almost like a safe house where you would send someone in witness protection, all brand new wood, not much art of any kind and very “brand new” and cold.
Multiple cars driving around the home so not private at all and the cars were so loud
The bedrooms downstairs are freezing, because it’s just a redone basement. Way to much creeking coming from the ceiling.
Multiple lights do not work throughout the home.
The traffic, when you can hear it, is loud, like they’re coming up your driveway but they’re on the road.
No dishwasher but are asked to clean dishes.
The dishes were not all cleaned, we have a photo of a pair of tongs that had grease still on them and the dish drying rack was also dirty.
Kitchen is NOT fully stocked. It has pots and pans, sure, but in multiple VRBO’s that we have stayed, there has always been at least some kind of cooking oil (they say they provide a cooking spray in their company website but this is not true and not stocked) also at least some parchment paper/foil, popcorn and a plethora of seasonings (they have a nice spice cabinet with absolutely nothing in it) This home only had 2 sets of salt and pepper, no mention of having to bring anything on VRBO.
We purposely didn’t bring certain food items because we figured the VRBO would have them as this home has great reviews, but upon arrival, we were extremely taken aback, disappointed and felt unwelcome to see the home has nothing

We had a great experience. Property was clean and within 25 minutes of all the attractions we visited. Were glad to have the charcoal grill and fire pit for dinner and post dinner drinks. A few minor suggestions. Kitchen could use a few more hand towels as we ate in both nights and did dishes after dinner. There were no k cups when we checked in, but we were able to get coffee for the coffee maker at the nearby Sunoco station. Definitely recommend, property was perfect for 2 couples.

Was our first time at Hocking Hills and it was in the fall to see the beautiful changing of colors of the trees. This place was everything we asked for. The quiet morning coffee on the deck to the late night hot tub swims. The place was clean and well stocked. Would recommend for people that just want to get away from the hustle and bustle.

Perfect place to celebrate our daughter's 16th birthday. It was quiet, private, and had a lot of great views. It had everything we needed at a reasonable price.

Beautiful home over all. The only down fall is the location being so far from activities. If you’re going to stay at the house the whole time it’s perfect. Any activity is a half hour or more away. The upstairs space is very hot. The air conditioning does not cool the loft area. If you don’t go purchase a fan, anyone up there will be over heated in the summer.

Clean, nice, and relaxing. Great location for exploring hocking hills.

A great place to stay. Mornings walks, ample space and a pond to swim in.

My friends and I had a great time swimming in the lake, enjoying the hot tub, and cooking in the brand new kitchen! Just a tip, the driveway is about a mile and a half dirt/gravel road so be prepared for that! We will definitely be back.

Happy in the Hills!
I took my two teenagers to Hocking Hills as an end-of-the-summer mini-trip. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay at this location. The private lake with a beach was so fun! The kids loved to relax in the hot tub and watch movies after all of our hiking. This property is newly updated and modern. It has everything you for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway!

Quiet Getaway!
My friends and I stayed here for a girls weekend and loved it! The cabin is new and well stocked. Check in/check out was easy and the property was very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals for the weekend and the hot tub was great! It’s definitely away from civilization (which we liked- stores & restaurants are about a 30 minute drive). The only suggestions we have would be another comfy chair in the family room (just so everyone has their own space to sit comfortably- 3 on the couch is kinda tight), and possibly some type of bug treatment (this is tough because it’s in the country, but the deck had some anthills and we had a decent amount of knats inside). Regardless, it was definitely not a huge issue and I’d still recommend the property to others 🙂. Thanks for a great stay!
