The hotel was clean and had free parking. It was easy to get to and was close to the American dream mall which was why we were staying in that area. The only thing I didn’t like was they charged an early check in fee. Check in was at 4, we got there at 2:15, our room was ready, and they definitely had plenty of rooms available still. It was annoying having to pay an extra 25 dollars for less than 2 hours. Overall it was a good experience and I’d stay again.

I think this hotel is overpriced. There was no complimentary breakfast only coffee, which seemed to run out quickly. The other coffee option was to pay $3 per 6 oz cup. Also, I inadvertently booked an extra day but was told because I booked through Hotels.com I could not get a refund, and trying to get in touch with a Human at Hotels.com is impossible. There is no phone number listed.

It's actually a nice hotel, and I would have given it another star except the WiFi is all but useless in the rooms. You have to go to the lobby to get WiFi, which these days isn't really acceptable.

I reserved a handicap accessible room which the property did not have available. We were had to wait until a room was cleaned to get checked in. Upon arrival in the room, we noticed there was no space in the bathroom to store any personal items. That’s no counter space, no shelf or table. There was only one of each towel, no hand soap at the sink. The toilet was not handicap compliant, it was 2 feet from the floor. We waited 20 minutes for an elevator which was an issue since I couldn’t use the stairs. The pillows on the bed was so soft there was not support. However the bed was comfortable, that was the only good thing about this property.

My favorite hotel to stay in when visiting the NYC or North Jersey area. An easy drive to the city, close to multiple bus stops, and a 20 minute walk from NJ Transit’s Essex Station.

Great stay here! Staff was friendly, we commuted to the us open from here. Room was good, great shower!! Only smudge was the carpet in 315 was very worn and noticeable. We didn’t mind it, but it took away from the overall ambiance of the room

There were some folks throwing a party in one of the bedrooms I had to call the reception several times to have the noise stop. It was really a painful experience, I asked to change room but they couldn’t accommodate me.

The location of this hotel is convenient as the highway entrances and exits are right by the hotel. We did have an issue with our sheets stinking like they were in a smoking room and a few towels had a horrible retched stench. House keeping immediately replaced the sheets and towels. Overall the parking was easy and checking in and out was fast. I give this hotel a 3/5.

The room was extremely hot the first few nights including the floor I was on. I considered moving rooms, but due to how late at night it was I didn't. I barely slept the first few nights because of this. Other than that the hotel was nice.

Disappointed in my stay. Wish I had stayed somewhere else. Came to Hackensack for a work trip. Immediately, tons of people congregated and smoking in the hotel parking lot. Lobby is bare bones. There was a check in desk and a few seats. Two people at the check in desk—one lady glued to her phone with her face fixed staring down at it while I waited for a second employee to finish up with the guest ahead of me so I could check in. When you check in, you get handed two water bottles to bring up to your room with you. Why not just stock this in the rooms? My room on the 11th floor was right off the elevators. Which would be fine except the other guests for whatever reason decided to congregate in this area at all hours of the night having loud conversations in the hallway and kids running around. The room was clean and had most things as expected—bed, tv, a desk, lighting. Bed was generally not the most comfortable and the sheets were hard as a board. This coupled with all the nighttime activity outside the room (despite the posted signs for quiet hours after 10pm) resulted in terrible sleep. I got woken up at 12:30 AM to loud noise and people slamming doors. I was exhausted during the next day. Wish I had stayed somewhere else.

Hotel was very clean & staff was extremely friendly (besides the security guy lol). The room was beautiful and spacious. Only complaint I had was that was shower water was warm at best.. but honestly it wasn’t a big deal!

Really liked the renovation this facility underwent. Bright and airy and clean. Has a very nice bar. Staff was great. Room was clean. Only issue was the bathroom. They definitely took shortcuts with the updates as there were some new and old items in the bathroom. (Old small sink but brand new LED mirror ) Shower water was not hot at all. The shower heads weren’t working properly. Shower rod fell without even touching it. Otherwise it as a good experience.
