The hotel was clean and comfortable. Perfect location central to everything in Amsterdam. Great bar next door. Would definitely stay here again!
2.0
Nice place in central location. It looks like it has had a major update since our last visit. Small rooms but typical for the area.
2.5
Die Port van Cleve Hotel is in an excellent location easy walking distance to the central train station and streetcar stops. The hotel staff are friendly, helpful and respond quickly to our needs. The staff helped us with our need for an electrical plug adapter, arrange tours, provide directions and our taxi. The adjacent restraurant and bar can be accessed through the hotel lobby, offer friendly service, good food selection and comfortable atmospher.
We definately recommend the Die Port van Cleve Hotel to stay while in Amsterdam.

Pretty dirty and worn rooms. Half of the hotel is under renovation. It does need it.

Staff was very accommodating and the location is great.

The hotel was in a perfect walking location from rue city center. We had a great time the beds were comfortable and the room was very cute. The staff was so sweet in helping with any needs during our stay.

This was a great hotel. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The room was an okay size and clean. The location was perfect right next to a train stop and within walking distance to the main train station (about 15 min).

Great service from the people that worked there, if anything was needed they fixed it right away!

The staff was the best part of my stay . I found the hotel itself in rather poor condition . The bathroom was adequate but our room was very dark and extremely small . The location was excellent, close to everything. I wouldn’t book it again

Staff is excellent. Blue Parade bar at the hotel is a must. Max is the best bartender with a great sense of humor. Breakfast is very good. Get the Mushroom Omelet.

Location good, but breakfast not included, too expensive for such hotel, room too small

Excellent staff and housekeeping didn’t do well with the bathroom sink. We stayed in three days , had breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant, it was good . Walkable to almost everywhere for the tourist spots . Will back in this hotel , next time in the Amsterdam

Very nice hotel with good service, elevator and mini bar. Was perfectly located, we walked everywhere and only took the short tram back to the Centraal station. Clean and comfortable.

Excellent stay in a clean and well centered hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Greatly appreciate them during our stay. Overall really enjoyed our stay. Only took off 1 star for cleaning services, which seemed subpar compared to all other services (ex. Lost one of my earplugs, replaced our towels with clean ones but let dirty ones in our room). Minor things with cleaning but overall amazing hotel!

Great location, easy check-in, large and quiet rooms (we were on second floor and could not hear street noise). Breakfast buffet was okay, but probably not worth 20€ pp, but it is good enough if you're in a morning rush and don't want to search for a breakfast location. Otherwise everything else was excellent and would stay again.

Great property for the price and superb location. My room was ok but had to ask for my daughter to move rooms. Hers was a tad dirty and due to be made over .
Ask for a modernised room.

Very pleased with our choice. The room we booked was really specious. Nice restaurant on the property. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Absolutely walkable to everything: Ann Frank house, Van Gogh museum, the Palace was right in front, ect.

Very convenient 12 minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal

We got a room in what felt and smelled like the basement with the view of a wall and a window to the kitchen or something which was both claustrophobic and disappointing, it was quite clean except from a lot of black hairs all over the bathroom (on towels and stuff, we are blonde so it couldn't be from us) but we got a coffee machine and fridge which was nice and the bed was comfortable. The room was overall nice with an old fashion touch but with a very new and renovated bathroom. The staff was very nice and helpful also.

I loved the historic background of the hotel which was blended into the modern amenities. The room we had was small, but there are larger rooms to select from. They had a really nice restaurant for dining in and a pub for local beer/wine and food. Dam square was just across the street. Other local attractions, central station, canal boats, dining out were within walking distance and the tram and buses were yards away if needed. I felt safe and it was quiet. We loved our stay with Die Port Van Cleve and would definately recommend to others and stay there again.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs. The room was slightly dark. It's as if it's always dim even during day time. I would prefer an option or a switch for a brighter light/bulb. The room was beautiful with comfy bed and good shower.

What I liked about this hotel is the location. Food in the restaurant is also good. Keep in mind the rooms are small if you travel with a lot of luggage.

Stayed here with friends before so booked again to bring with my sister for her first time. The hotel is ideal for transport links and walkable if you're looking to stay closer to the central attractions. Whilst it has a quirky mid-century charm the modern features are definitely welcomed (air conditioned, lift, etc.) as not everywhere has this in Dam! We did spend the majority of our time out exploring, so pretty much only got ready and slept at the hotel.
Unfortunately, we did have an incident where some money was stolen from our room and whilst the gentlemen we initially reported this to seemed genuinely horrified and wanted to help/investigate, the same cannot be said for the staff who were there when we came back later that day. After speaking with one staff member in particular, it became quite obvious that he thought the situation was comical and he pulled out our check-in sheet and pointed to the section where customers sign to say they leave their possessions in the rooms at their 'own risk', laughing and shrugging stating "thank God it was only a small amount". The amount of money is irrelevant, our aim wasn't to be reimbursed, but to make them aware that one of their staff had been into our room and stolen money. However, this obviously isn't seen as an issue here, unfortunately.
Apart from this, we had a wonderful stay, I would just recommend anyone staying here to put the 'do not disturb' on your door for the duration of your stay to keep unwanted visitors out!
