The location of the hotel is perfect for visiting Modena situated in the heart of the city. Parking is on the road close to the hotel but you need a permit which the hotel provides. The staff were very helpful and breakfast was excellent. I would definitely stay again if visiting Modena

We booked this hotel thinking it was a four-star property. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good, but everything else was subpar for a four star property. There was old shabby furniture in the lobby and in the bedrooms. The hallway carpet was dirty and old. The shower was tight, but also didn’t work well. The bed linens and towels were not what you would expect at a four-star property. I actually found the property somewhat depressing. Very disappointing experience. This is the first negative review I have ever written, and I travel quite a bit.

Amazing and helpful staff. Helped us park and even drove the car around for us when we had to leave. Amazing location of the hotel. Close to shops and good restaurants.

Poor quality room that are outdated and need decoration.
We arrived for breakfast at 10:40am , it ends at 11 am and it was depleted and most choices had gone.
No offers to help couldn’t even get milk for coffee.

We understand this historical hotel has to meet challenges but the door of the fridge has been broken before we came, the receptionist told us our car could be in the garage we agreed to pay 20 dol per day but it remained n the street amomg otherw…but the breakfast room is outstanding and the staff very professional

The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was perfect. We walked everywhere from the hotel- metro station was about a 5-7 min walk. Restaurant was only open Friday-Sunday. Nice patio area to relax. I would stay here again.

Beautiful, but older, hotel. The staff service is amazing and helpful. Gorgeous courtyard that hosted an art gallery and a wedding reception while we were there. Breakfast was delicious. Great location easy to train station/Ferrari and the main market (amazing dining and shopping)

Great location!

Communication before arrivel seemed efficient. The staff were helpful, and were quickly able to het the air-conditioning in my room working. Sadly the whole Palazzo is badling in need of repair and renovation. The window frames are breaking up, and the carpets are filthy, need an industrial clean or replacement with replacement that is easier to clean on a daily basis. The fluff and grime at the edges of the carpets have months, if not years for dirt. At the end of two nights I felt very uncomfortable in the hotel. The canopy over the entrance was also filthy and hasn't been cleaned in years. The bathroom and bed lined were clean, and I think staff were working hard on a daily basis. I can only hope that the hotel will be closed for complete renovation, as the proportion and layout is good.
Good breakfast and helpful staff.. I did not get the feeling that there was a happy atmosphere in the hotel

Charming hotel. Built in the 1500’s Formerly a monastery and other uses, it has a lively period lobby, newly remodeled baths, charming, helpful staff and delicious breakfast buffet. The rooms. while not refreshed, are comfortable and quiet. The large outdoor terrace is wonderful for drinks

This property has old world charm, a pleasant staff, and a lovely terrace. We were comfortable and liked the central location. Decor is a bit worn. Needs interior painting.

Great location. Very professional staff.

The property including outdoor space and shared areas was beautiful. Our room was in need of repairs including the broken towel drying rack which would not shut off and the broken air conditioner. These made it too warm to sleep well and the staff would not change us to a different room because they said they did not allow air conditioning to be turned on in early May. This was upsetting because the expedia reservation said it included air conditioning. They ended up turning the heat off on their central end. The carpet was also worn down along the edges and the smoke detector was right above our bed and had a flash of light that went off every 30 seconds which made it hard to sleep. I had to wear an eye mask thank goodness i had one.

Im pleased with my stay at this Hotel. Professional service at reception; really tasty breakfast with varied selection of products (local included !). Plus for fresh fruits.

A classic of a hotel, with traditional keys and heavy key fobs that you deposit at front desk when you leave. Location is excellent for Modena's town center. Our room was comfortable, with an excellent shower. Don't expect mod cons like USB charging ports, but wifi is very good.

Great breakfast, but "old fashioned" rooms, furniture and building needs a renovations

I loved the amazing historic decorations in the lobby and friendly staff at reception, in the bar and at breakfast.

The room was comfortable and clean. The heat in the room was a little too high. The breakfast was excellent and the service was excellent. I appreciate the hotel staff calling me the day before my arrival to confirm my reservation. I was hoping there was a hotel bar in the evening open late at night for a night cap drink.

Really liked our stay — felt like I was in an old Italian retro villa! The interiors are super interesting (many old paintings in entrance) and fairly well kept! Just the facilities are old.
Staff were super nice and accommodating for us
Buffet breakfast was huge and very good quality
Perfect for a few days exploring the region!
Would recommend going in the summer as they had a lovely garden that we didn’t enjoy properly

The location is centrally located in the old town of Modena. Easy access to the market, Duomo and Piazza. The staff was all friendly at check in. Breakfast spread was excellent.. good buffet spread.

Perfect location in an old palazzo; the breakfast was delightful. I just wish the hotel responded to my multiple messages re: early check-in, but they did allow me to check out late in the end.

Perfect location and service. Would definitely come back to this hotel once in Modena

This hotel is fantastic - i don’t understand people who say it’s old and ´needs lové’. The walls looked freshly painted and our room was super clean and well appointed. The bathroom is big and modern and the breakfast was outstanding. The staff is great too - so helpful and accommodating. Would not stay anywhere else in Modena!

We enjoyed our stay in the central part of the city. The staff was nice and made sure we were happy with our room. We were able to park our car in front of the hotel each day. The breakfast was very good as well. Would stay here again.

We had a good stay overall. The first two nights (we were there for 6), the AC wasn't working even after we asked them to look at it. We asked for a room change and we were surprised they upgraded us to very big suite which was lovely! I would definitely go back and pay for this room if I were to go back.
The hotel is very pretty and the breakfast was good. Michael was very friendly and went out of his way to make us comfortable during breakfast but we did find some of the other staff were really cranky.
I wish they had a dinner menu as it would have been nice to have that as an option after spending the day/afternoon/early evening exploring the city.
We'd return here again were we to visit Modena again.

This was a wonderful place to stay. We especially liked the lovely courtyard where we could sit and enjoy the garden, read a book and have our breakfast there as well! We would highly recommend this hotel to others!
