Great location with helpful and friendly staff.
Within walking distance to Tobu and Lumine shopping centers as well as the West side train.
Restaurant buffet breakfast was okay. McDonald s is nearby and other restaurants.
One concern is that the tub/shower is deep and difficult to get in and out and not sufficient grab bars..
Overall, would get king size room and ask if shower only available

Hotel is very convenient with metro subway and JR stations within 5 mins walk. However, the facilities are getting old and i can always smell the carpet even i know it's clean. The hotel is definitely required overall renovation.
1.5
no bottled water provided in room unless request everyday. sloppy housekeeping with missing items like tea cup and no refill of water in the humidifier. thin duvet. no more info pack about the room regarding services etc. compared to our experience in staying in this hotel many times before covid, standard has fallen apparently.

My room smelled like smoke after requesting a non smoking room. Strong smoke. It was very small and the bathroom was not clean.

Convenient location which is few minutes walk to JR station. Room is a bit old in style, yet it's fine as the room size a larger than standard hotel rooms in Japan.
This is my Anniversary Trip, hotel has arranged Swan Towel Decoration on the bed and blessing message in the TV, it's so warm.
However, the receptionist of the restaurant on 1/F floor is poor in atitude!!!! We gave up to eat breakfast in there finally, there was a very queue over there and the guy was unhelpful to gudie us how to do and with rude attitude. We were disappointed about the breakfast arrangement and that guy, under this sizable hotel.

10 day vacation stay with a group of friends. Room was very clean and comfortable and had an excellent view (higher floor). Not recently remodeled, so some of the furniture seemed a bit worn. My friends had rooms that appeared recently remodeled. But it was perfectly acceptable and very clean. Bed was very comfortable as were the pajamas provided. Excellent staff and service. Breakfast buffet was very delicious and varied. Location was very convenient to transportation, shopping, and dining.

My 2nd stay at this hotel in a week. 1st stay I booked a superior room. It had only one working power outlet. Carpet seemed old and looked dirty. 2nd stay I booked a standard room. Was exactly the same room different floor. I used the hotels laundry room. used two machines. One worked, other machine washed, but didn’t rinse off soap or dry. I ran it through two cycles It never worked. I now had a problem and went to the hotel desk. After accusing me of running it incorrectly, they finally realized it actually didn’t work correctly. Staff put my clothes in another machine. Note each time you run a cycle, it takes two hours. So I am six hours committed to getting my laundry. I asked the person to help me get a later check out so I could deal with this laundry issue. The front desk said they would charge me extra if I checked out late. I reminded them the issue is due to their machine failure not mine. Insisted that the general manager come out and speak with me directly, finally, the front desk manager begrudgingly agreed to let me have a 2 PM check out. Our company, our contractors and distribution partners have stayed a total of 50 nights at this hotel. There won’t be a 51st night.

The location is excellent, close to station.

Great place to stay - it’s not cheap, but it’s an excellent place to stay in Tokyo

Room was smaller than expected as I booked a superior class room. The entire room had only 2 working outlets. This made it impossible to charge computer and other work related electric devices a one time. They did have an auxiliary charging cord , it didn’t work. Carpet looked old and overly worn. No proper desk to work at. The people were wonderful. The lobby and restaurants very nice. But, I was in Japan on business and the room wasn’t worth the price. If I stayed here again, it would have to be a larger room with a desk. But then the price would likely not made it cost effective.

Very nice location, easy to explore Tokyo, easy access to Harry Potter studio, Shibuya, Shinjuku. Facilities are clean and in good conditions. Room area are very fine for even 2 luggage’s.

Can’t fault this hotel. Rooms were quiet and comfortable with good views from the 19th floor. Great location, very close to the station and also lots of malls, shops, restaurants. Decent spread at breakfast.

Excellent property on the quiet side of the Ikebukuro station. An older building, but well maintained with many modern features. Guest laundry room and konbini in the building make longer stays comfortable and convenient. Close to tons of shopping and restaurants.

The overall service is good but the hotel needs renovation as this hotel was builded in 1985

I have stayed in this hotel many times since 1994, room #942, but this time I felt a bit bad, for example: the toilet exhaust system, the smell is bad, the carpet is dirty and disgusting, the toilet door lock is broken, each room used to be equipped with a take-out Internet phone box, but now there is nothing. Next time I will consider whether to stay here again,no no no

When we go to Tokyo, we try to stay at Hotel Metropolitan Ikebukuro but often times they are sold out. The room is comfortable and clean. The hotel is situated at a good location near the Ikebukuro Train Station and the Department stores. The staff is always helpful and friendly.

Stay was great as always, good sized rooms, clean, aiport limosine, friendly. Only problem we had was that the laundry room isnt big enough for the size of the hotel, had to wait hours to get a machine then when we did the machine doesnt dry the clothes properly and people remove your clothes before the alotted 30 min period

This is my second stay at this wonderful hotel. Really practical location, with JR and metro station just across the street. Friendly and very helpful staff, great amenities; I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is very close to the station and easy to walk to. So it is near the main shopping area in Ikebukuro, with many restaurants around.
We took the limousine bus to the Haneda airport on our last day, very convenient when you have luggage s with you.
Only the hotel is a bit aged, old interior. A twin room size is adequate.

We really enjoyed our stay. Room was a good size for Tokyo and we felt there was good value in the property. Was a little disappointed that the gym was an extra 2200¥. Seemed a little cheap to charge a usage fee for an amenity like a gym. Overall would recommend. Value was good and location is perfect to get around the city.

We had a Superior Room 1 Queen room but was upgrade to a King size bed. We loved it! There was plenty of room in the bedroom, the bathroom had a large tub, and the bed was very comfortable. We were in Rm 2036 and the view was beautiful! The staff was very helpful and spoke English. I highly recommend this hotel!

Reasons we stay here every time we visit Japan (twice a year): Airport Limousine Bus drops off and picks up at this hotel, train station is a 2 minute walk away, lots of shopping on the other side of the station, lots places to eat nearby and on the other side of the station, the three conbinis with in a block of the hotel and always great service.

Great hotel. Very comfortable room. Very clean. Great location

The location of the hotel is excellent, one of the stop for airport shuttle where you can buy the ticket and no worry with the bad weather.
walking distance to the train station, for family with baby trolley, the nearest lift to the entry of all the train’s lines is at Esola mall.
And Tobu department store has all you needs, the top 3 levels of the building are restaurants.
Nearby the hotel has few convenient stores

I Cann't say it enough. DO NOT STAY HERE. I have stayed in many countries and many hotels. This might have been the worst experience.
First, they charge you 2200 yen (per day) to use the gym.
Second, they limit the AC in the rooms so you ant turn it down. It was 99 degrees outside and the rooms were all 70 degrees and could not be turned down.
Third, I had no cold water in my room the entire time.
Fourth, even though Orbitz told me as a VIP member I would get late checkout when available, they tried to charge me 2000yen for one hour of late checkout. So it was "available" but only if you wanted to pay.
Fifth, I tried taking a business videocall and there is NO WHERE to sit anywhere in the entire lobby. They kicked me out of a younge where they was no one else, ruining my call. Didn't apologize just said not allowed. Told me to take it in my room. LOL.
Sixth, It is not near anything. Not close to any of the major parts in Tokyo. Pay and extra $50 to stay closer.
Horrible hotel. I hope they close.

Total stay-away. Treat their guests horribly. Would;t ever stay here again. 99 degrees outside and they limited your air conditioning (couldn't lower it past 18C. Horrible.
