The check in was perfect. The room itself was alright, but there was a muffled smell around the room, as if it was never opened. I spoke to the receptionist and they were kind enough that they allowed us to go to another property. However, the experience far exceeed my expectations. The staff are attentive, genuine and always hepful. Thank you.

I have to say that the service provided was 5+****** at hotel imperial Spacious, clean room, with a living room, as well as a private bathroom. The stay was for 6 days, and i will really miss such spacious room. Lol Book in advance.

The good things - room was big, a/c worked really well and it’s a few minutes walk to the canals and old town. You’ll see from the photos it is incredibly dated, doesn’t feel like anything has changed for 40 years. But that’s clear so you either accept that or not. I chose to accept that because of the roof terrace. Turns out that’s closed, being worked on but the hotel don’t tell you that. I chose a room at the back, I knew that wouldn’t have a view and that was ok for one night. But again the hotel don’t warn you there is work going on so there are men literally walking past your window and naturally making noise from 8am. And that sums up the worst of this place, the staff treat you like you’re an inconvenience. Customer service is non existence. I’d seen it on other reviews but assumed maybe a one off, maybe people don’t try and speak Portuguese. But it’s so odd, no matter what you do you can’t even get a smile let alone a hello. Never experienced anything like that.

Love staying in this hotel..Feel very comfortable here. The restaurant menu and service is excellent. Unfortunately the weather was terrible but this did not spoil my stay here. Like the new restaurant where I had breakfast . The evening restaurant remanded me of an Alpine Hotel in Switzerland whre i have happy memories

Hotel Imperial is perfectly located near the best shopping and dining areas in Aveiro, Portugal. Hotel Imperial should be one or two stars, as rugs are old and dirty, as well as room furniture. This hotel needs an urgent renovation.

Great location, close to everything, I walked everywhere including to the train station every day to do day trips. It's right next to a lovely museum and restaurants everywhere. Lovely small town. Hotel was cool, old school, staff lovely and helpful and speak English. Horacio at the front desk went above and beyond to help me and make sure my stay was a pleasant one. I stayed for 6 nights and I will gladly stay here again if ever I'm back in Aveiro 😁

Very friendly staff at this central hotel. Whilst the property is older, it remains comfortable and is kept clean, and improvements are under way. Water pressure could be better, for showers, and the hot arrive faster; but otherwise no criticisms. The half board option represents good value for money.

Convenient location and helpful staff, but the shower nozzle was broken in the bathroom and air conditioning unit was noisy all night long. Interior was very dated, but functional. Great to have a nice breakfast buffet, but everything was luke-warm, including the coffee.

Excellent value. The daily set menu dinner was good value and excellent quality. Including soup, bread, butter, choice of e of main course, wine and desert for €10.00

The hotel was old and dated. We had an issue with our bathroom that was not fixed until we checked out and we did not get moved. Breakfast was awful and we did not receive good service there at all. Wish we picked somewhere else.

Very clean, helpful and courteous staff, large rooms and centrally located. a great value for the money.Although the hotel is over 70 years old it has aged very well and it offers a great terrace and restaurant area with a very good view of the surrounding area.

Great ambience, excellent service,dining quite fine and very reasonable. The one issue I had was being in a roomwith very loud machine noise.

Very clean, large rooms, centrally located, efficient staff. The hotel is over 75 years old so it is a little tired but it was obviously the best hotel in town years ago. Çheck out the roof top lounge for a great view of the sea. Ģreat value for the price.
