I had a 15 night stay. Nothing went wrong. On site free parking undercover. Reasonable internet speed. Comfortable bed and room. On site meals were great without costing a fortune. Good staff. Recommended completely.

There was little to fault the Ramada for. Everything was great, except for WiFi and available channels on the TV. There was only ever 1 to 2 bars maximum on wifi. The internet is central to daily life, especially in business. Channels were restricted to free to air and prime. But Prime kept freezing due to the poor internet connectivity. I think pay TV needs to come as standard.

We really loved the Ramada Diplomat. Not much not to like, in my opinion. It has a beautiful lobby and dining area. It looked like a luxury hotel and felt like one too. We had a ground floor recently refurbished room, and while we were not given a room with a view, our room had a lovely leafy outlook that gave us a visual escape after our days in the busy city. I've seen a few reviewers saying their rooms were dated. Ours was recently refurbished and decorated with an eye for luxury. It was an added bonus that it came with free secure parking! We had breakfast every morning in the Diplomat dining room as it was included in our room rate. Delicious food with some healthy options. The only issues we had with the hotel was that we only got one room key. That was a genuine inconvenience. There was a large tinted window in reception that looked into our room, it would be better if the curtains could be drawn open from right to left. That would allow the curtain to be open on the right, so the reception window was not seen. Other than that, it was a big thumbs up for this stunning hotel. Would happily stay again and recommend to others.

Room had a sliding door and the glass window seal was missing from top to bottom and cold air would come through this. Had to make sure the curtain was kept at a certain angle so the cold wouldn’t come in and had the a/c on. Maintenance is definitely needed.

This property is close to Canberra Train Station (this is where 3-times daily a train goes to Sydney). Other than that there is a bus stop nearby which gets you to CBD - buy you can't buy tickets in the bus or anywhere nearby and credit card does not work either. From the airport you can either have a taxi/uber for about $30 or take public transit via CBD which is about $5 but takes almost one hour. The hotel common areas and restaurant were always empty, even during happy hour you could barely see a handful of people. WiFi is terrible - connection was interrupted frequently and bandwidth is low. Netflix buffered multiple times during each movie and browsing is painful. The room was clean and big enough for a three-night stay, but the main road nearby makes some rooms quite noisy. At the end I liked the proximity to the rail station as I took the train to Sydney (convenient and a good price - 4 hours to Sydney CBD) and I got the room for a good price. Would I come here again? Maybe, if the deal is good.
