Second visit. Great again

Air conditioner controller is not modern device. I couldn't turn off when we wanted. But I found out air conditioner device turn off when I open balcony door. Also Rotten smells in couches. Overall was clean and well maintained.

Aston at Papakea Resort was lovely. There were great views of the ocean from apartments that were Oceanfront, and great views available on lounge chairs around the property. We were looking forward to using the hot tub one evening, and when we got there, there was quite a few people there, but still room for us. The problem was that people were talking loudly and there is a quiet time at 10:00 pm, so the security folks came at 10 pm and told us all to get out of the hot tub. Since some of those folks were "temporarily" living there (because of the Lahaina fires), if quiet enjoyment of the hot tubs in the evenings is important to you -- this would not be the place. Otherwise it was a lovely vacation.

Loved the location, walk right into the beach.

The condo was beautiful… but there were many roaches and I even saw a little lizard (I’m not sure what they are called)

These are individually owned units so when you check in and have issues with unit, onsite management does not solve your problems since they are not the property manager of the unit. You will have to solve your own problems.

The unit we stayed in was ocean front, which was great but overall this property feels run down. Our unit had some bug issues and also the lights outside are very bright when they are right outside your bedroom window. If you’re a sensitive sleeper I would bring a sleep mask! I don’t think we would stay here again.

The location of the resort was lovely, and I enjoyed a room that was so close to the ocean, and the spectacular views I had from my lanai. The bed was very comfortable, and I’m grateful that the Bluetooth speaker I accidentally left in the unit on my departure was turned in.
However, the room itself was shabby, and needed a lot of maintenance and some upgrading, especially considering the price I paid. In addition, I saw small cockroaches in the kitchen on 3 occasions, and I was bitten by fleas while sitting on the lanai (on the 3rd floor). Removal of the carpet in the unit would help keep fleas under control.

These units are individually owned, they are old, rusty with old mattress. Front desk is just for checking in and out. For any question or concern you are on your own.

The property and grounds were great but the unit we rented there was tired and needed updating. Watch for extra taxes and cleaning fees attached as well.

The bed in the unit was terrible. It was like trying to sleep on a marshmellow. The rest of our experience was great

Nice place to visit. The ocean front, rooms are wonderful. We look forward to stay again.

The amenities in our room was bare minimum! Nothing like our previous trips to Papakea!

We were checked into a room with NO running water. Wasted 1st night and hrs of 2nd day trying to resolve issue. No help onsite after 5pm. LOST valuable time! Less ameneties for 3X the cost compared to prior stays.

We had a studio on the water and it was perfect! Loved that there’s no daily cleaning while you’re there. Loved hearing the ocean. And it was very quiet!

This was my 3rd stay at this property over a 20-year period. I always enjoy the grounds, which are still beautifully landscaped and maintained. We shared a 2 bdrm/2 bath condo on the 2nd floor of the H Bldg with an ocean view. The condo had been updated and was well-equipped, clean, and tidy. Front desk staff and concierge were friendly and helpful. This resort is a great value, with adequate onsite parking and convenient to a nice range of dining options within walking distance. An added bonus in January is that whales can easily be seen from the waterfront.

Only 2 bag of welcome coffee , if need extra have to buy ,
It’s not like the way hotel or resort policy , also have to pay by cash

Great location, but unit not clean, they charge so much money for cleaning and it wasn’t clean. Kitchen not equipped- just few plates , one little pan !

Stuffs in kitchen are missing/broken. Bathroom looks terrible.

Cons:No beaches, no food on property, cleaning charges while no cleanings during our stay
Pros: apartment owners are very thoughtful and kind

The property was beautiful, most of the staff very friendly, and the studio condo was beautiful and very clean! The bed in the room was very uncomfortable and another bigger blanket in the room would have been nice. Could certainly use a little updating in that regard.

The ocean front views was spectacular. The room was nice, slightly outdated but that’s OK.
The unexpected fees upon check in were not good.

A reasonably priced, lovely oceanfront condo. Quiet, family-friendly, lots of amenities and activities. For example, when we got there, they were having a free mai tai party at one of the pools! Highly recommend!

We have been back to this property many times. We love it! It is very family friendly, has multiple pools, a putting green, and outside shuffle board court.
Main issue is that units can vary. I suggest arriving early and checking the unit. Often we have had to request changes, which has never been a problem, but it based on availability.

This was our second visit to the Papakea. The pros are the room sizes, the grounds, in room washer/dryer, and the location. The cons are that there are no restaurants/bars on the property and no cleaning services included. We did have some issues in our room with bugs. They even ruined some of our food. But, we love the property and grounds

A208 unit is very disappointing.

Terrible communication through Expedia. I wanted a two-bedroom unit on one floor. What I got was with an unusable loft, thus wasted space. No way to see pics of the place beforehand, for which there is NO excuse! I rented a total of four units, and spent a lot of money for this disappointment.

We loved everything about the property and the room, we do wish that the a/c unit wasn't so so loud. We would go again.

A wonderful week of vacation at a great beach front property with friendly staff, nice condos, and great amenities.

Since each unit is individually owned, you never know what unit you will get. The first unit was in horrible condition. After 2 nights, they moved me into a different unit which was much nicer. Unfortunately, they do not show you pictures of the unit you will get. The photos are just generic stock photos.

There's no patio umbrellas at either pool. Also was a bit of a struggle to find lounge chairs. Property was in great shape. Very nice staff.

The property is beautiful and very well kept with sandy beaches very close by. The individual condos vary in condition with some nicely updated but all three our family group rented were clean and very functional. Good value.
