Cozy step back in time, and a great location.

Stunning! Amazing staff that care for your every need. Breakfast was fantastic! Comfortable bed with other furniture for sitting comfortably. You choose where and when for breakfast to be served, including your room. Spacious parking in the back of property. Within walking distance to downtown. Front porch is very spacious with plenty of comfortable seating.

Fantastic property and experience. They offered canapés at cocktail hour, free of charge. There was a full bar, if you wished to order a cocktail and sit out on the lovely porch and enjoy the late afternoon. The room was comfortable, the bed was great and breakfast was delicious. Big kudos to the friendly staff as well.
Only one comment. Our bathroom floor had a big chunk of tile and a couple of small ones chipped out of it, right at the entry. This was not pointed out to us when they took us to our room. That chunk and those small pieces were nicely pieced back (loosely) together again, like it was just cracked. Perhaps this just happened and needed to be dealt with. However, for safety reasons, it should have been pointed out to us and taped down until it could be repaired. We slipped on it (no damage done) and that is when we realized it wasn’t just cracked, but full blown chips of loose tile.

Fabulous stay in Grisham Room.
Parking good, we had breakfast in the porch.

1842 Inn lives up to it's reputation as a diamond quality B&B with an old school charm that is hard to find in this day and age. The staff goes way above being hospitable to you, the rooms are comfortable and quiet. It reminds me of being at my grandmothers house with all the comforts of the south that come with it. I am definitely staying here everytime I'm in the area. The best stay I ever had in my life; 1842 Inn sets the bar sky high for these other hotels...in my book.

We stayed for a special family weekend and we all loved it! The inn is beautiful and has multiple parlors, two covered porches, and a courtyard- plenty of spaces for our family to hang out in and spend time together. The complimentary hors d'oeuvres each evening were delicious and there is a cash bar available as well. The two rooms we had were very nice and we all raved about the comfort of the beds. The breakfast was outstanding- the best, crispiest bacon- with lots of choices. Gloria and JoAnn were so nice and attentive and went out of their way to take care of us. We had so much fun chatting with JoAnn that we were reluctant to head out on Sunday morning. We all agreed it was an A+ experience and we are already planning another family get-together here in the fall. And the bonus is that they allow dogs and I'll definitely be bringing ours next time.

Great place! Room and bathroom were both nice sized.
Breakfast served wherever you want, we chose our room. They brought coffee and croissants first, then the full breakfast - nice touch.
Walkable to downtown and all the great eateries and breweries, etc.

We stayed in the Nancy Hanks. A very nice room with direct access to the courtyard. Breakfast was great and the appetizers the day before are very good as well. All in all a great stay.

I cannot say enough about the 1842 Inn. The property was very well kept. We especially loved the front wraparound porch and back garden area.We stayed in Lyman Hall and it was well appointed. During our stay, all of our needs were met by the entire staff, who were so friendly and accommodating (Forgive me, because I can only remember Felicia and Sara at the moment).
On the day we were checking out, I met a “Young lady” that actually gave us a tour of the Inn and showed us pictures of the Inn before some of the renovations took place. We’re already making plans to come back

Loved our stay at our first ever bed and breakfast! Our room was so cozy and well maintained. The AC worked amazingly and felt so good to step into after a day spent in Georgia heat. The concierge Felicia greeted us upon check in and got us some waters for our room. She was so friendly and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was delicious with a good portion size and lots of options! Coffee was actually delicious. The outdoor area was tidy and well trimmed. Parking was easy. We’re super happy with the location and hope to come back again when we need a spot to stay!

Great stay. Will be back. Beautiful Inn within a historic and stately section of Macon. Even did a self walking tour the next day. The staff is exceptional, the hospitality was truly southern with an early evening cocktail hour and a lovely breakfast the next day. The bathroom in the Macon Suite was a little dated but that was the only critique for improvement.

If you like stepping back in time, 1848, then this property is for you. The staff were gracious kind and ready to answer any questions and the buildings were well truly a gem. If you like sleek modern lines, then this property is not for you. If you love large verandas with Gone With the Wind charm with 2 of the largest magnolias trees, then this property is for you.

Stay at the 1842 Inn if you want the vibe of an old southern mansion. It is clean, the rooms are furnished with antiques, yes some plaster is peeling, but the bed is comfortable. The staff is super friendly. The breakfast in the courtyard was enjoyable. I recommend for those that are not too fussy though, since the vibe is definitely OLD southern home.

It was the epidemy of southern hospitality. All staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. Especially the kitchen staff. They prepared a wonderful breakfast, provided excellent service and even gave my wife the recipe to their breakfast souffle.

The inn was beautiful and the on site parking was very convenient! We came to Macon for a concert at the Macon City Auditorium and it was very easy for us to walk to the venue from the inn. We also walked to Mercer campus nearby which was beautiful. So many beautiful old houses in this area.
