Beautiful view. Very quiet. Great price. Not fancy but we liked it and plan to come back.

Property is clean and fairly well maintained. The view of the lake was amazing. Lots of psrking.
Nice beach to take a stroll on. Pillows needed to be thicker and the heating/ac unit was noisy in heat mode.

Was a good place to stay at for my weekend in Door County. Room was clean when I entered. I will say the only issue I had was my door keycard would stop working randomly which got very frustrating. Was one time where all my things were stuck in my room and I had to call the “emergency” number they had on the front desk since the guy working was not there. He did aid me to a drawer where the master keycard was to unlock the door. But it’s frustrating because I couldn’t leave my room after that without my card not working. Other then the faulty keycards, the stay was good!

This was a couple weekend. Reasonable price for being right on Lake Michigan. Coffee available all day. Continental breakfast was packets of instant flavored oatmeal and processed muffins. We were out site seeing during the day so we were in our room only to sleep. Which the queen size bed was very comfortable. I would stay again because of price and location.

The description was a bit misleading. If you are looking for a beach hotel, this is the place, but confirm with the hotel that you are actually getting a beach room so you are not surprised at check in. Also be sure to request that your room is cleaned, beds made and clean towels are provided, with the front desk. Do not assume it will be done when you ask the cleaning lady. If you want a clean place to lay your head this is the place. If you want any kind of creature comfort, there are many other options in the area.

I have been a regular annual guest at the Algoma Beach Motel for many years. I love the Lakeview rooms with a balcony to watch the sunrises and moonrises, as well as the convenience of dining, shopping, and many interesting sights and history! It is close to the beautiful Lighthouse and Crescent Beach. Most of all, the staff is so friendly and helpful with anything you need! A special “Thank You!” to Mac, for his above-and-beyond service!!

The motel is showing its age. The room was clean, but had a smell like it had been smoked in.
Bed was not comfortable. We wouldn't stay there again, but enjoyed the incredible lake view and sitting outside by the water.

The hotel was nice. It was old and had an old smell to it, however it was clean and the staff was nice. Beach was rocky but very quiet and peaceful. Very close to the downtown area.
Would stay again if we went that way again

Wonderful location right on the beach, Easy access and great amenities -- chairs / firepits etc

Clean and reasonably comfortable accommodations. No-frills, but the beachfront location at the affordable price makes this a great place to stay. Algoma is a great town and Door County is close by.

It was a decent place to stay after a long day. The room was clean and we had a beautiful view of the lake.

It's a very old property with terrible beds. Bathroom was not clean.

This is a small hotel on the lake. We used it as a home base to leave from. Had a fishing trip right in Algoma. But did explore all of Door County. Algoma s a cute town with a fantastic restaurant, Son of Skallywags. Do go there.

Property is showing age. Glad have call in rooms vs carpet like halls. Stayed on 2nd floor and people above very loud so didn’t sleep well.

The view out the patio door is beautiful from a distance. The property is in general disrepair. The beach was covered in dead fish and the smell wafted up to our room.

So very clean and beautiful lake view from every room. Outdoor seating on the water, firewood and several fire pits available too. Coffee and juice available in the lobby 24/7. Really nice!

Everything was great. Loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves.

Nice room with a wonderful view of the lake. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Room was furnished with a small refrigerator and microwave, but not with a coffee maker or hairdryer, so those are two things I’ll need to remember to bring with us, when we go back. All in all, a pleasant experience.

It was all about the amazing view and wonderful people. The room was just a few feet from Lake Michigan. There is a private fire pit and lawn chairs and picnic table. The room had a whirlpool tub. I must say this is not a upscale fancy room. It is very basic but it is clean. I think if they could buy new bedding and towels it would be a great improvement. We had a wonderful time and we will return.

We have stayed here many times in the past
First time in off season. The same except only offers coffee in the morning and no hair dryer otherwise its fine for a night or two.

This place has become a cherished gem for me, and I've returned multiple times. The gentleman who checked us in displayed exceptional kindness and flexibility, allowing us to stay in a room not typically pet-friendly so we could relish the beachfront location. He even permitted my dogs to run and play freely on the beach. Throughout our stay, he remembered my name, inquired about our experience, and showered my dogs with affection.
Our trip was unexpectedly extended, and he generously offered us a discount to return a couple days later, securing the same room we adored. While the rooms may not be the height of luxury, the breathtaking views more than compensate, and the added bonus of a jacuzzi tub was delightful. The lakefront setting, complete with Adirondack chairs and fire pits, was so captivating that we scarcely needed to be in our room except for rest.
Watching a nighttime thunderstorm and the sunrise over the lake during our stay was breathtaking. I can't recommend this place highly enough, and I eagerly anticipate many more returns in the future!

They really need to clean the carpet and poor some Green Gobbler down the drains. They apparently are clogged.

It is a very nice hotel located right on the lake! It is older but the rooms are clean and balconies for all the rooms we had!! Great view of the sunrise!!

Great view, friendly staff, comfy bed, clean bathroom. Enjoyed our stay in spite of the rain. The pillows and towels could have been bigger, but overall a great value!

A wonderful location on the banks of Lake Michigan with an outdoor deck overlooking the lake. Unfortunately this property is very dated to the point where it appears they’re using the original bed linens and towels from when it was built. The mattress seemed to be old and worn out as well.
To their credit, there was a 42” tv in the room, but I never used it so I can’t comment on picture quality.
The interior of the room was unattractive. A small microwave was stacked on top of a small refrigerator which was sitting on what appeared to be an old nightstand. A small clothes rack for hanging clothes was bolted to the wall next to the exterior door.
With all this being said, it’s actually what I kinda expected from an old school roadside motel.
The bathroom was clean and the water worked fine. What was really discouraging was that there was very fine sand on the linoleum wood grained floor. I actually collect grit on the bottoms of my feet walking around the room barefooted.
Even with the exceptional location, I probably wouldn’t stay here again.
3.0 / 5.0
The room was clean but very small. The bathroom was cramped and had no sink (which was in a corner of the room). The doors slam easily and cause vibrations on the entire floor. Walls are not well insulated for sound as we heard our neighbors till near midnight and early morning. Ideal place for touring other areas of Door County, but not as a destination by itself.
