A little disappointed in how many things were dirty and/or broken in the room. The walls and carpets had not been cleaned, there was debris on the carpet from lack of vacuuming, and the phone and fan had visible dust on them and were sticky. The door did not lock and there were only screw holes left where the inside lock had previously been. The ceiling fan and heater were visibly broken. No thermostat in the room. The one thing that seemed clean was at least the bedding, but even they had multiple stains. The tv did not work, would only sit stuck on a loading screen when trying to change to any channel. Wi-Fi was good.

Needs updating, not clean.

The room was filthy with stuff running down the walls and grim in the bathroom. The room was so old and rundown, paid over $225.00 for 1 night. Do not recommend this stay!

I'd say the hotel is a decent place for the price. I thought it was reasonably clean. Some things to know - there is no air conditioning, not surprising since this is Alaska. The room was overly warm each evening (we were there in late September) but we could open the window and let in plenty of cold air and get the temperature just right. You should also know that there's no microwave or fridge in the room. None was promised so that's fine, just be aware in case you were asuming they'd have them. The hotel is three stories tall and has an elevator. I would stay here again.
3.4
We have stayed here twice and found it to be a good location and decent rooms. Breakfast is a little lacking, but there is a coffee hut next door!
3.4
I have stayed here before. Comfortable beds, plenty of coffee. I always feel safe.
3.4
The check in was easy. The reservation was kept. Staff was warm and helpful with our need.
3.4
This was my second time staying here, the last time being in 2017. The property seems to have been worn in a bit. My room was just okay. The continental breakfast was decent, however. I would stay here again because this place is priced right. For Alaska, it is hard to find a better place and deal.

The woman that checked us is was great and extremely accommodating. She changed our room so we’d have two beds. Which is very helpful. We got to our room around 10pm. Ate dinner. We’d been at the fair for 8 hours that day. Went to take a shower and the shower didn’t work. Which is the reason we even got a hotel. So we could shower. Otherwise we could’ve slept in the truck. It would’ve been the same. And saved $200. Then. There’s was the big light right outside the bedroom window. That was flashing like a strobe light all night. So. We spent $200 to not shower and get little to no sleep because this light was flashing in the window all night. I mentioned it to the girl who checked us out. She said. I’ll note the shower doesn’t work. Oh yeah. That l light has been like that for a while now. Not like. I’m sorry this has ruined your night before you have to drive 400 miles home.

It was smelly. No a/c. Bad neighborhood. Puddles in the parking lot like a lake. Not near the airport at all. No food nearby. Many warnings about locking and theft. One way into property. Left within the hour. Not as advertised.
3.4
The place is adequate. The house keeping details are lacking. The bedding and linens smelled and looked clean. However the flooring and couch were stained and appeared not clean. If you like ultra soft beds then this will be great for you.
Everything about the appearance of the facility, inside and out, indicates that the general building maintenance program is significantly lacking.
Adequate short term housing but absolutely nothing special.
3.4
The rooms are dated and that would be okay if they were clean. Celling fan was coated with dust/dirt and light above the bed was also coated with dust/dirt. One towel was gray (should have been replaced) and one had a dirty handprint that didn't come out all the way when washed. Staff was friendly and the price was cheaper than Anchorage hotels.
3.4
The management turned off the heat to the whole building. This was in Alaska! It was freezing in there! Unfortunately we have to stay there 2 more nights during our travels here. Will be posting more bad reviews. I am also going to be asking for a refund.
3.4
The night clerk was friendly and helpful with our check-in. The room was clean. It was a short drive to some beautiful hiking trails.
3.4
They replaced our towels once, and never replaced sheets or even refilled side of the wall tissue paper. Cards rarely worked and the tv was too small to even watch considering they put it where it almost touched the ceiling. Considering the cost to stay here I will never stay at a Microtel.
3.4
Good location but we we given only one bed to sleep. There were four of us.. 2 people had to sleep on floor
3.4
Motel is in poor repair and rooms were filthy.
3.4
Room was hot ceiling fan didn’t work. Dark 4 light bulbs were out. Refrigerator didn’t work properly because it needed to be defrosted. Booked for three nights checked out at 630 the next morning was still charged for all nights no refunds wouldn’t stay there a again or recommend it to anybody else to stay there thank you
3.4
I’ve stayed at Microtel properties before, so I knew this would be a no-frills stay. But the sink was falling off the wall, there was mildew growing up the bathroom door, and the carpet had seen better (and cleaner) days. On the plus side, breakfast was better than anticipated, the rooms were serviced daily which rarely happens anymore, and we met lots of nice people.
3.4
So dirty we had to go buy cleaning products and bedding. No amenities in room, breakfast was a joke. Would never recommend this place to anyone
3.4
The room was not clean and walls filthy. Curtains. Had holes all through them. Window seat so filthy and stained. Staff though were very attentive and pleasant
3.4
Worst ever-beware. The room had a sink that was literally falling off the wall, smelly carpet with stains all over it, spots of mold. The worst part was we were on the first floor and someone had obviously ripped the lock off. Breakfast just passed for edible. I’m just hoping I haven’t caught a disease. Left early.
3.4
Great stay with basic essentials. Good options for breakfast. Easy access to highway to travel around
3.4
A little noisy but all things considered, not bad for the nightly rate
3.4
If you like to smell weed all night, if you like to see the wall damaged at the shower, if you like not having a lock on the ground level window, if you like not having an air conditioner, if you like having a box fan coated in multi layers of dust? Might be for you? The plus side of things, they did have hot water, the bed was surprisingly comfortable, we could open the window a little bit because they provided a stick in the runners, and our puppy was allowed to stay there for 20.00. I don’t know if this one was just old and run down, but I don’t think we’d ever stay at a Microtel again.
3.4
Parking was bad, and staff was quite rude, breakfast was crap.. and coffee was like water left after washed coffee pot. I would highly recommend to stay somewhere else!
3.4
Grossly overpriced for a dingy dirty room, stained sheets, hair in the shower.
3.4
Our room walls, cushion on bench were very dirty. Dog hair in hall, poor excuse for breakfast. Never again
3.4
Could not stay here. Everything was Filthy, smelled and was unsafe. Window did not lock. Phone did not have a cord so just for looks. Cabinet doors not actually on, just placed in front of. I was here for business, so after i sent pics to my leadership, they had me find a new place to stay.
3.4
Stayed there three nights the rooms were clean. It was comfortable. Staff was good. Their continental breakfast actually was nice. Ice machine was on the second floor though and parking is tight there. If you’re pulling a trailer, you wanna get there early in order to squeeze your vehicle and trailer in
3.4
The property was ok. It was average for what we normally book, although the Alaska prices are crazy expensive.
3.4
Room 219 had several marks on the walls including a booger. The carpet is heavily stained as well as the bench cushion. we could hear the people talking in the room next to us and constant running around upstairs. This room was $219 and was a disapointment.
3.4
Bed was comfortable. Front desk staff excellent. Room temperature could not be controlled. Rooom had an odd odor. Breakfast as expected.
3.4
The staff was wonderful to work with.
The cleaning people need to do a better job.
3.4
I am disappointment with the service provided during my recent stay here. While the staff was friendly and helpful, I encountered several issues that significantly impacted my experience.
One of the major concerns was the limited parking availability on the property. Upon my arrival, I struggled to find a parking spot and had to drive around aimlessly in hopes of finding one. This caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience for me as a guest.
Furthermore, the condition of the room was subpar. The linens had noticeable stains on them, and the carpet emitted a strong moldy odor. The bathroom was also a source of frustration, as the shower system was overly complex and required assistance from the receptionist (using a photograph of the shower) to operate properly.
The breakfast offered at the hotel was satisfactory
3.4
Outdated and overpriced. Very small room. Signage stated 12p checkout. Desk clerk came banging on the door at 11:15a, rudely telling us to leave now. Continental breakfast was gas station bought pastries. I do not recommend this place.
3.4
Although we were not able to get an ADA room, the suite assigned to us was spacious enough for my powerchair. The bathrooms were tight and we "made it work". This is thr reason for 9 stars instead of 10.
So, for a non disabled person the room was perfect.
3.4
Heat was turned off so we had to ask for a space heater both times.
3.4
It was a pleasant stay. Staff was nice. It was also quiet
3.4
The rooms are small. But it is cheaper than Anchorage hotels by far in the summer. Check in was efficient and friendly even though we arruved in the middle of the night.
