Wonderful hotel near the lake with very helpful staff and beautiful surroundings. The pool is magnificent. We had the must stunning view over the lake with a terrace. Highly recommend people choosing this hotel. We will definitely comeback

Good location for boat to islands. Lovely pool. Spacious room. Could do with tea and coffee facilities but that might be an English thing! Helpful and friendly staff.

It’s a big old grand hotel which has been well maintained. It is huge and links up to the neighbouring Hotel Dino via a 400m underground walkway. This is where you need to go if you want to use the gym, which is also huge and very well equipped, probably the largest hotel gym I’ve seen. Unfortunately you need to pay €12 a day to access it which is annoying when it says the hotel has a gym. Also, as is sadly becoming more common, breakfast is extra at a pricey €25 pp. Also parking is extra at €20 per day! (It should state this on the property details page when booking) So when you book a night as a couple at €200 thinking it’s a good deal for hotel, parking and gym it is actually going to cost you €282. For that reason I wouldn’t stay again (we didn’t pay for breakfast and just got yoghurt form the supermarket opposite).

Very nice hotel walking distance from Barbour and all restaurants. Nice bar, nice pool, nice pool bar, nice rooms … Everything was very good!

Very grand property and has access to sister hotel Dino, to allow use of swimming pools, kids games area, gym, both bars & live music. Add ons were a bit expensive but nonetheless we had a great stay. Sparse on power outlets in our room was the only drawback

Beautiful facility and landscaping exquisite with a view of the lake. Not on the lake, but very close. Our room was very humid, no A/C. Very disappointed that parking, breakfast and exercise room all cost an extra fee.

Luxurious property if you pay the price for a room with a view of the lake and pool. Sumptuous breakfast buffet. Beautiful pool with tunnel access to an indoor pool at a neighboring hotel. Bar a bit pricey. We had lunch once but better and less expensive food in town. Short walk to town. We enjoyed a few relaxing days after traveling for two months.

Theres a very specific definition of luxury here—lots of shiny gold trim and loud floral prints. That lack of restraint isnt my taste, but the price is right and the location is incredible. Plus, the hotel was clean and well-maintained, the staff was warm and professional, and the amenities are top-notch. Access to the nearby Hotel Dinos amenities is a plus, especially since it has a lakefront pool. Both hotels are steps from the train station and the ferry terminal.

A wonderful hotel, beautiful, immaculate and great location. Rooms spacious and comfortable, staff very friendly band welcoming. Pool area was particularly lovely, and enjoyed relaxing and cooling down here. I would highly recommend the Simplon, and would definitely go back. We had a fantastic stay here.

Every aspect of this hotel is outstanding! The staff are exceedingly helpful, the rooms are spacious and well appointed, and the grounds are beautiful. As we took no meals at the hotel, I cannot comment on this feature. I highly recommend this hotel if you visit Lago Maggiore.

Overall a good stay at the Simplon. Very friendly service and a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Great to have access to the Dino hotel for sunbathing on the lake and a second restaurant. Baveno is a good destination for a long weekend away but any longer and youd need to travel for distractions.
