We loved everything about The Iron Gate Hotel. The staff were very polite and helpful, the bar is cool and the rooms are spacious.
Breakfast is an ok buffet style but can be a little busy depending on timing.
The location is perfect, bang in the middle of the Old Town and walking distance to most major attractions.. 100% recommended

Great spot. They upgraded us at first but went back to our original room which ended up being fantastic. They were very accommodating. Right in the heart of everything.
4.5
Location fantastic
Rooms nice but interconnecting doors so you hear everything from the next room.
Breakfast was ok but nothing hot

Enjoyed staying in an historical facility!
Front desk staff were amazing!
Restaurant food and staff excellent!
Very comfortable!

Exceeded our expectations. Property is beautifully restored. Room was huge and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was excellent and the Deer restaurant was the best we ate at in Prague. Property is centrally located a block from astronomical clock

Everything was amazing here. The only thing I would suggest is that a handrail or something to identify steps everywhere. My dad was walking to my room and there was a single random step he didn't see and fell and really hurt his ankle because he couldn't see the step. Even in the daylight.
Everything else was awesome. Thank you.

We loved the location and the hotel itself was amazing !
The room was very hot always at 24 degrees
- we asked for the air con to be checked but nothing happened to fix it .
The mattress is very firm but we asked for a mattress topper and it was much more comfortable
Fabulous hotel

Here's an improved version of your feedback:
My stay at this so-called 5-star hotel was nothing short of disappointing, starting with the most unprofessional and coldest welcome I've ever experienced. The receptionist barely uttered two words: "passport" and "credit card." There was no greeting, no smile—nothing that remotely resembled hospitality. I had to figure out on my own how the Wi-Fi and breakfast worked. The rudeness of the reception staff was consistent throughout my stay, indicating a clear lack of training in basic manners and guest service.
The hotel's design and amenities are far from what you'd expect from a luxury establishment. At breakfast, the cups and glasses are so small it feels like a deliberate attempt to limit coffee and juice consumption. In the room, they provide just one small bottle each of shower gel and shampoo, with no conditioner or any other toiletries.
Two particularly astonishing experiences:
Despite booking a room with a double bed, I was provided with a duvet meant for a single bed. When I called reception to request a proper duvet, they informed me they didn't have any available (!!).
At the hotel's restaurant, the tip is automatically included in the bill—a practice I find quite presumptuous.
I had planned to use this hotel as a base for my work in the coming months, but after this experience, neither I nor my employees will be staying here again.

Loved everything on our stay here! Our room was beautiful. The staff excellent! Zdenick (sp?) you are amazing!

This place is amazing. Great location. The rooms are fabulous and the staff is attentive. As another visitor stated, if I could give it more than a five, I would.

For a 5 star hotel, they have great decor but horrible service and dreadful breakfast (not including their buffet).
Had to wait around for 15mins to be “shown” our room even though we came through after our check in time.
Our bedroom was upstairs and could be an issue for order people. Hit my head on the roof waking up due the sloped low roof. Was willing to give feedback on checking out, but nobody asked.

The hotel and staff were friendly and phenomenal. I hope to stay there again in the future.

the hotel with a Great location
Breakfast is not a five-star level, they only offer omelettes at a price, but there are scrambled eggs, boiled, and another type that I don't know the translation for.
Sometimes it can be lost, because the streets of Prague are similar, and some lanes close in the evening.
They don't offer free water at all, as in five-star hotels.

Perfect for exploring Prague. Great location. Excellent double glazing. Helpful staff and lovely facilities.

Absolutely fantastic hotel right in the heart of Prague. Great service and great location. Would go back there in a heartbeat.

Hotel was very nice and room was larger than expected. It even had second bathroom. Close to old town swuare
4.5
It was a great hotel with a very traditional/classic vibe.

The tub shower was dangerous to get in and out. It was a chore to take a shower. Other than that we were happy with our stay.

Incredible eclectic hotel, where you’re always discovering new art and sculptures to admire. The staff were amazing and helpful. The food was fantastic. Very large portions. It’s a great location central to all the Prague has to offer. The room was quiet. The AC was incredibly cold. The bed was amazingly comfortable In large bathroom. Only downside is you have to step up into the shower and tub

In the old town, clean, very friendly staff, 2 minutes walk to the clock, 6-7 minutes walk to Charles bridge.

Love the large suites and high ceilings.
Excellent breakfast with lots of options.
Friendly and easy checkin.
Avoid room 201 if you need Wi-Fi as the reception is very weak.

Excellent location, staff, and service. I will stay here again in the future. Everyone was so helful and accommodating. This place8s ste0s from the opd town plaza.

We loved everything about the property, except that the air conditioning did not work. It was very hot. The restaurant is wonderful.
4.5
The property is centrally located near all the sites.

This is one of the most unique hotels I have ever been to. Basically, they renovated a complex in the old city and transformed it into a hotel. So, the atmosphere is special and quite authentic. However, there are no blinds or curtains and one should know that many steps are all around.

Gorgeous rooms, staff very friendly/helpful. Loved loved this hotel

First time in Prague and very satisfied with all aspects of this hotel. Staff were very accommodating, on-site restaurant was wonderful, and room/location was great! Will definitely return!

Located on a quieter little street just one block from all of the action. Felt like a privileged spot when entering off of street. Hotel was clean and our room with a loft was a great touch. We even had two full baths. Air conditioning did not meet my expectation. It was only 75 degrees but I would be concerned if it was a really warm spell. Front desk was helpful. Breakfast served was with warm and cold options. You had to walk down into a basement room to get food, so I would suggest that the hotel figure out a way to have food and drink on main patio area. It was too cramped for me. The patio was pretty with lots of flowers
.

Staff was very courteous and helpful. Property was clean and well managed.

Excellent location

My first time in Prague, I had no idea how narrow the roads are and the GPS doesn’t work properly. It took me an hour to find the hotel and had to walk 15 minutes with suitcases to find the hotel.

Lovely hotel. Close to all the ateactions. Huge rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Recommended!

Staff members were so helpful and supportive and went out of their way to make sure everyone was doing well.

Strange smell from the A/C

Wonderful hotel only a few blocks from the train station, with many lovely restaurants around and walkable to most Attractions, including 2 blocks to the Atomic clock and all the other sites downtown. Lovely hotel!

A beautiful building with a pretty courtyard aream, ideally placed in the Stare Mesto (old town), very close to the old town square and other sights. In terms of the hotel itself it’s historic and the rooms are well equipped, though not everything you would expect of the hotel of this class. Compared to a 5* in London, this doesn’t come close to that standard, but for the price you still get a good standard of room and facilities. Rooms lack a proper coffee machine (instant only), but otherwise well equipped.
However, the breakfast is awful. I would suggest either paying for a la carte options, or going somewhere else (such as the Cafe Slavia, which is superb). The buffet is very basic, with juice from a machine that is horrible, and served in a room through the kitchen (!) The staff are surly and ready to kick you out at 10am (which is also an early finish for a 5* hotel). Reception staff are friendly and helpful but service lacks the polish of a London 5*. Also I found my ground floor room a bit dark. Overall, but bad for the money, but avoid the breakfast.

Unique interior

Proximity to Old Town is great. Facility and staff were execellent.250 meters to subway, 300 meters to tram. 10 Good restaurants 50 meters or less.

Unable to shower because lack of hot water spoke to two members of staff on two different occasions unfortunately no one got back to us however the next day this issue was resolved
