It's a bit tired and the streets outside are noisy at night

The location is exceptional at the center of old town, close to everything. People working there were friendly.
The inside of the hotel was painted when this wonderful building was constructed that gives a very negative impression of the hotel.
It would be nice if a fan and an extra blanket were provided.

Always stay in the anne de bretagne on the last night of our holidays to Brittany to get the ferry back the next morning. Most reasonably priced hotel inside the citadel. Perfectly clean and comfortable, well located. The 3 bed room is huge and the bathroom is ideal. Never had a problem. If you want want something then by all means pay an extra 100 euros a night, but waste of cash in my opinion.

The staff were very helpful and friendly but the hotel is very run down. All the communal areas were dirty and although the room was clean the toilet smelt and the room was very decrepit!

The hotel is situated at the very heart of the old town which is great. The room, however, was quite a disappointment: dirty carpeted floors and an old blanket, and the toilet was, frankly, disgusting. If you can live with that it’s a OK place though.

This property has been closed for a while. As a result I did not stay there. My booking was directed to Hotel De La Cite, down the street from Anne de Bretagne.

The location was fabulous!! Close to the sea, to the shopping, to the port!
The communication with hotel was very poor before the trip, they did not answer the message that I had sent them. It is very old hotel, bad carpets and furnitures. Usually you get that you paid for, I know that. I just described how is the hotel. For one night was not bad.

The employees are very nice and welcoming. The room
was ok but there was no trashcan and the wifi was working intermittently. The neighborhood is quite noisy, due to the proximity to many bars and restaurants.

The room was perfect for us. The staff were lovely and the hotel was very central and close to the beach too. The price was very reasonable. Small tax of 2 Euros to pay on arrival. Maybe the bathroom could have been updated but everything was functioning OK.

Location is the the best thing rooms need to be refurbished as does the hallway and also more lighting on the stairs which is dangerous as the are dark

Great location for the hotel, but as a result quite noisy.

We were happy with our stay here. The building is old with some old plumbing which led to some stale smells in the bathroom, but it wasn't bad enough for us to complain or request a new room. It was loud one night, but it was a special festival going on. the rest of the nights we slept very well. The location was perfect and the breakfast was well worth the money. We would stay here again.

Great location, within the old city walls, grocery store just down the street and very handy, friendly staff

Dry reasonably priced hotel considering the location which is expensive. Room very small but fine for us for a nights stay.

i was on the 4th floor, the last flight was stairs only, the sort of old-fashioned touch i adore. there was no kettle in the room for me to make my essential tea. luckily a woman at the counter volunteered a kettle which she pulled from a cupboard. the other woman would not have done the same. thats just luck. lucky i had my own tea bags. i had a gorgeous view of the roofs across the narrow street. the windows shut out all noise and the curtains all light, so i slep like a baby. didnt try the breakfast. it was nice to find a place reasonably priced in an ancient town invaded by tourists.

Lovely setting, everything basic, room could be cleaner but just £52 for a double room. Very cheap, St Malo itself was beautiful

The hotel is right inside the walls, down one end of the "high street." Easy to find. Staff are wonderful, my son bought a bunch of flowers for one receptionist! The wi-fi was a bit and miss on the 3rd floor. It was comfortable. My son, age 7, and I were happy with it. Good value. It could all do with a bit of TLC (lick of paint etc) but generally OK. Stayed here with my wife 10 years ago and 10 years later stayed with my son. A happy stay. Would be happy to stay there again in the future.

Comfortable beds, hot showers and a great location with smiley and helpful staff. That is pretty much I want from a hotel on holiday and that is what I got! Ok the hotel has seen better days and is probably due a make over so if decor is important to you don’t stay here. Everyone else enjoy your 4 minute stroll to the beach...

Great location- very clean and well run, great value too

This hotel is located within the old city walls of St Malo and that is its major benefit. An additional benefit is that it has a garage available for motor vehicles and bikes (additional payment). There is little else to commend it, apart from the price. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and I would suppose that all buildings within the old city walls are rather constrained. The stairs in this hotel are steep and the lift is small and antiquated. The same description would also apply to the rooms and common areas; with the additional qualification of run-down. As I say in the title; this is a good place for an overnight stay, both to have a stroll around the old town and very convenient for the ferry port. But as a residence for a longer stay, I would not say so.

Stayed at this hotel twice now - perfect hotel if you're on a budget and want to stay in the citadel - staff incredibly helpful and polite. Would happily stay here again as you are in walking distance to restaurants, beaches and walking distance to the Britanny ferry terminal

I was told the checkin was only at 3pm. What is the point in paying for the whole day while I am stranded outside. They should have charged half day.
The wifi was very poor, about 0.5 to 1 mbps and need to repeatedly log in and each password is for individual device. Had to get another password for mobile.

The hotel was basic but very clean. It was right in the centre of the walled town and as entry is restricted and one way system operates in summer it took us a long and very frustrating search of the tiny streets. In the end we had to park the car and fin it on foot. parking is very expensive but the hotel offer a 24 hour ticket for 5Euros.Once established in the hotel it was an excellent base for exploring the old town. The staff were vey friendly and couldn't have been more helpful.
