Truly amazing hotel, location is perfect, staff so friendly and helpful, room so much charm and clean

I had a couple of nights in the hotel by myself and it was a wonderful stay. Everything I needed with little care touches (earplugs, although I didn’t need them) a character-FULL old house in a wonderful setting. Would stay again in a shot. Maybe not great for people with heavy luggage and/or bad knees as no lift.

This was the coziest most unique hotel of our 10 day trip. The staff was so welcoming and the breakfast and fika was the best breakfast we had. The personal touch of everything being homemade was so special. The tips for catching the ferry and things to do was also appreciated. I would recommend this hotel for anyone planning to stay in Stockholm or Gamla Stan. Thank you!

Excellent location in old town

This hotel is in an historic building which includes a spiral staircase and slightly irregularly shaped rooms and bathrooms. But the service was attentive, continental breakfast satisfying and location spectacular! It was an easy walk, tram or bus ride to everything you’ll want to see in and around Stockholm.

Charming and beautiful little hotel, with very nice croissants for breakfast.

The property was perfect, complete, warm and delightful, with an amazing breakfast.

The bathroom eas 6 ft x 3 ft which included a shower, 18 inches from the toilet with only a curtain. Interesting to say the least! People were extremely friendly.

We loved our stay! Fabulous location and the room had so much historic character but modern updates to make this perfect for us. The staff was friendly and helpful, even making us a bagged breakfast to go when we had to head to the airport super early our last morning. If I am ever lucky enough to be back in the area, I would look forward to staying with you again, thank you!

Room not comfortabel

Charming hotel in the old town. The neighbourhood is a bit noisy till about 10/10.20 when it is the quietest.
This is a true 1707 built Old Town experience, with wooden beams and winding small staircase.
There is no lift so if you are not able to manage the stairs, this place isn’t for you.
I really enjoyed the stay. Check in was about 30 seconds long, and the room was clean and comfy.
It is central for the Old Town.
The only criticism is that i wish the curtains were more blackout. In the summer it is still light and the curtains are too think for that.
Breakfast was great and the staff are so friendly. I would stay there easily again.

Amazing stay right in the heart of Gamla Stan. Yes it’s an old building and with that comes quirks but if you’re happy with that then go for it

Great hotel in the heart of the city

Excellent location in the old town. Rooms are very comfortable. No elevator and narrow stairs should be a consideration for those with heath and fitness issues.

This is a very historic and charming hotel in the heart of the old city. I would refer to this more as a bed and breakfast rather than a hotel because there are only a few rooms and no real lobby/front desk. If you need to reach someone after 1 pm, you must do so by phone. Upon arrival you will be given a code for the door and your room key will be outside of your room. Rooms are all accessed via a very narrow spiral staircase; there is no elevator. If you foresee steps being an issue, request the second floor. This all worked out fine for us, but if you are expecting a full-service hotel, you may be surprised. Breakfast was served each morning, and fruit and snacks were available throughout the day. The room was very spacious with a decent sized bathroom (which looked recently updated). We loved the warmth of the room and the character of the surrounding neighborhood, which has plenty of lovely shops and restaurants. Gamla Stan is a great launching spot to see much of central Stockholm as well. We visited at the end of April, which isn't quite the busy season yet, so we truly enjoyed being able to walk into any restaurant or museum without any lines.

The Sven Ventaparre is an authentic older hotel in the heart of Sweden's charming old town, Gamla Stan. The breakfast that was included was a nice selection of fresh scratchmade pastries, made-to-order coffee (expresso, cappiccino, etc), tea, juice, yogurt, granola and fresh fruit. Traveler's should note there is no lift and a spiral stair case. We stayed on the top floor and it was well worth the climb.
The hotel is central to everything and just a 10 min walk or 1 metro stop from the train station. A metro card will give you access to all city public transportation including buses and ferries. The hotel was a short walk to the ferry stop that takes you to the island with Skansen and many museums. The Vassa is a must!

Great location. Very friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast (best so far on the trip). 400 year old building so you’re trading modern standards for charm… and charm is on 10+ scale.

Really charming hotel in the middle of the city. Great base for exploring historic Stockholm. Unique, unlike any other hotel I’ve stayed in — the building was built in 1607! I’d love to return here anytime.

Sadly due to COVID and the cancellation of flights we were unable to visit. We tried many times to contact the hotel to tell them we were cancelling but never had the courtesy of a response. The original booking had been on a pay-if-cancel basis, so we were not surprised when they charged us for the two day visit, but under the circumstances an opportunity to rebook for next year or some kind of consideration would have been decent. Instead they just took the money and never responded. Will never recommend anyone to stay with them.

Cozy and perfect. Located in the old section of Stockholm it is situated perfectly to wander the streets. The breakfast is yummy and they accommodated my gluten free diet. Wish I could have stayed longer.

This is a gem in old town. It has the chara ter of living in a period place. The staff was so helpful and charming.

An amazing hotel from 1607 right in the center of Old Town Stockholm. Very steep and narrow stairs, but the personnel gladly offered to help with the suitcases. Room was small, but had a lot of character. Excellent shower and comfortable bed. Hotel is located a 5 min walk from the subway station and near everything in Old Town.

Hotel Sven Vintappare is a gem in Stockholm. It is a very old building, so expect slanted floors, tight staircases, and small bathrooms. None of this phased us, as we were more than happy to stay in a classic building. The breakfast each morning is served in the cosy cafe and is a delicious continental style. We loved staying here.

Lovely welcome to this small hotel and breakfast delicious, but room was quite disappointing. Didn’t realize we could have asked for a superior room and that would have been much nicer. I’d say it would be worth the extra expense.

Staying at this hotel is an amazing experience. The building is perfectly located and rooms are renovated with great taste. The owners are awesome, breakfast was delicious and I really felt at home. I will try to stay here on every trip I make to Stockholm!!!

Lovely old building if you enjoy the novelty of old town quaintness rather than 100% comfort. Be aware that the hotel lies between 2 busy streets, on one of which is a late night bar. There's a narrow spiral staircase with loose slates that 'clonk' at every footstep. And the bathrooms, on the whole, are wetrooms - bijou! Very comfortable beds and functional furniture, but needing some freshening up.

The most amazing sleep I've ever had at a hotel. It was absolutely beautiful and made my stay in Stockholm even better. Jenny was so welcoming and friendly and went out of her way to ensure I had breakfast for my early check out. Amazing hotel and perfect location. If I am ever in Stockholm again I will absolutely stay here.

A beautiful hotel in a wonderful location. The hotel staff went out of their way to make us welcome for our stay. Highly recommended.

Under renovation wrappers, but should be done by end of October 2018. Super nice and cozy, a very different hotel experience, especially if you’re bored with the regular bland business hotels in Stockholm.
